Just booked my first post lockdown holiday with Quality Cottages. Have always loved their cottages and have stayed in several over the years, but this time it was particularly reassuring to be able to have all my Covid concerns addressed. Can't be there soon enough!
I refer to my review on June 19. The Company says they have been "corresponding" with me! I have been asking for my money back and they have been saying NO. I have sent 28 e.mails. It is clear from this and other review sites that there are many others being treated in the same way. We should all use the online form for the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) and also submit a claim to the Courts and Tribunals Service ,again an online form moneyclaim.go.uk The attitude of the current management is a long ways from the ethos set out when the Company was formed in 1961 see the website philosophy statement " That's not to say we don't make mistakes but we will always act fairly to resolve things quickly".
I have dealt with Quality Cottages on a few occasions and have always found them to be friendly, professional, attentive and caring on all occasions. Quality Cottages strive to achieve exceptional attention to detail. Their cottages offer the very finest in hand-picked locations offering luxury and comfort. I must say that Quality Cottages have worked tirelessly to assure that bookings have been maintained through this terrible pandemic. The communication has been excellent in a time when It must have been very difficult to juggle things about to provide assurance and customer satisfaction through this awful time for so many clients – well done QC ! … your staff have done an amazing job in these unprecedented times.
Like others , we were most disappointed at how difficult it was to obtain a refund due to Covid 19. Whilst we understand that the pandemic is not Quality Cottages' fault, it certainly is not our fault either. One must know that under UK law , if a contract is frustrated and cannot be honoured, even due to circumstances beyond the control of the provider, the client is entitled to a refund. It took several very firm emails on our part to obtain this and we got a real sense of how vengeful, petty and arrogant the company was due to their rude answers. They obviously did not appreciate one little bit being told about UK law. I have been well educated and know that when one is in the wrong, one admits it. It would seem for Quality cottages, this is sadly, not the case!The telephone service is a complete joke-no one ever answers calls and they just cut you off each time. We finally obtained our refund minus a booking fee-what a petty lot! I would recommend to anyone in a similar position that you insist and contact consumer protection or citizens' advice if your claims for a refund go unanswered. It is such a shame when one sees how easily some other companies refund and leads me to believe that this one is only interested in money making to the point of acting illegally
Excellent service and extremely helpful in these difficult times in rolling our holiday over into next year. Cannot thank them enough and are certainly our go to provider for UK holidays.
Exellent Customer service
WE have a cottage in Pembrokeshire that is managed by Quality cottages and they have looked after us with care and expertise for the last 11 years . They manage how we care for our cottage and arrange to have it quality rate by The WALES Tourist board . we have 5*. they have found excellent visitors ton stay in the cottage and we are most grateful for their Care and the service they offer.
QC have kept us well informed with regular updates during the pandemic. They are working hard both for the benefit of property owners but also for guests looking to rearrange bookings. This approach will hopefully pay dividends when the world eventually gets back to normal and grateful guests will return to QC for future bookings.
As an Owner of 3 holiday cottages during this challenging time, whose main source of income is from holiday rentals we feel that Quality Cottages have not been very supportive of the Owners. They have imposed courses of action which are totally in favour of the guests and maintaining their brand image and have not considered the impact on owners businesses and likely financial losses incurred as a direct result of their blanket courses of action which have been imposed on the Owners without any real consultation. Other agencies have been far more flexible in allowing Owners to make their own decisions with respect to bookings.
