Nov 07,2024I cannot express how unhappy I am with Quote detective. Took a policy with them for my van through compare the market so all the info should have filtered through. Had to phone up to get the policy changed from personal name to company name as they’d put the policy in my name instead of my company’s even though I told the agent in the phone I needed the policy in company name as van registered in company name with dvla. I was promised a call back once they listened to call recording but no call came 5 days later I called again was told it wasn’t their fault and if wanted changed would cost an additional £750 . I had no choice so went ahead told docs would be in portal shortly , 2 days later nothing phoned again to be told it takes 48 hrs to upload. Inaddition this if you upload and proofs for them they don’t tell you if there is anything wrong with them they just keep sending you texts saying their cancelling your policy, not good at all.

Nov 06,2024Do not get any insurance policy with this company! I've had an absolutely horrendous experience with them due to a human error to which they have admitted liability. I've spent weeks calling and constantly phoning to try and amend my policy, which they made an error with. To put right the amendment they made a mistake with, I was told It would push my premium up an extra hundred pounds a month. I was then told I would be allowed to cancel my policy with the cancellation period honoured. I've just called today to cancel my policy, and they are refusing to give me back my refund, which was originally promised, leaving me hundreds of pounds out of pocket. I would not wish this experience I've had with them on my own worse enemy.

Nov 04,2024Save your time and money. Wasting time on their website to fill in the form, then wasting time on the phone call (30 mins) to provide all extra details. At the end of the phone call, the man said "They will get back to me". Any other brokers at least provide you with the best quote they found. Still waiting for their call back.

Oct 21,2024i paid my insurance upfront for the year few month later i needed yo cancel my insurance. i uad a quote to cancel and got the go ahead for a refund of £600 plus i was told yo wait up to 30 days for refund. after 30 days i call back and they not even processed the refund apparently they trid to call me but no joy as somewhere down the line they edited my phone number and put an extra digit so had to fo another quote waited over a week and not until you call them and have a go at them, then they do the refund but now its £525. the lady couldn't even tell me if my refund would be back dated they are quick to take £1100 up front but getting it back they will make sure you loose money also apparently all this drama is my fault

Oct 20,2024Found Quote Detective on comparison site for van insurance. On calling to discuss the quote (and having learnt in last 48hours) NCD from driving a car is not transferred when purchasing van insurance. The girl I spoke to on Friday evening (won't mention any names) was absolutely lovely, assured me she would do everything to get the best price, get back that evening or at worst was due in at 08:30 following morning and would contact us. The quote we'd received on comparison site was for immediate cover as the van had already been purchased and therefore we keen to get sorted. She text me once our call finished that same evening as she said and had told me if I had any queries to reach out on the mobile she'd sent text from. Having not heard anything the next day, I text the number at 10:30....but heard nothing. At 11:30 I called the main office and a pleasant young man was able to tell me pretty much straight away, the quote given on comparison site of £2225 had now become £3800 due to the 2 years NCD earnt previously on a car not being applied. This new cost was the same UW that had quoted £3500 with another broker but they couldn't match it. Good for me as we finally secured a cost of £3086 with a different broker and same UW. Insurance makes no sense!!! So easy to accept and get ripped off. My biggest bug bare with this company though is feeling assured I was going to get a great service from girl I spoke to initially only to then hear nothing and have to call myself to get the disappointing premium being offered.
