One of the best places I've ever been to! We stayed at the Nightingale in Shropshire and believe out of the four this cabin was the best for privacy. We truly switched off like never before and the views over Clee Hill are magical. Hiking around the local lands and hills, followed by cosy cabin log fires, hot outdoor bubble baths, fire pit cooking, star gazing. The minimum 3 nights is totally worth it, we didnt want to leave. Take me back to cabin life!
We love it so much we’ve stayed here on three different occasions this year already. It is truly the only place we can both just ‘switch off’ from the world and relax. The cabins are beautifully thought out and you have everything you need. The best feature for us has to be the outdoor bath, especially in the colder months. When not soaking in the bath you have an array of walks local to you. If you’re considering booking, get it done, you will not regret it.
We stayed at Exmoor in the Woodrush, just what we needed peace and quiet, beautiful surroundings, really enjoyed the bath outside, if I’m being picky the cutlery draw was hard to open, and the extractor fan in the cabin above the hob needs a clean. But we had a wonderful time.
I don’t even know where to begin with how amazing this trip was. My husband and I stayed at the Sparrow in Shropshire for our wedding anniversary and just had the most relaxing couple of days. Also… THE BEST SLEEP we’ve ever had. I even emailed after leaving to ask what pillows/bedding they use as I had to purchase! The lovely Lucy emailed me back with links which was so kind! 10/10 would recommended to anyone thinking about staying at rest & wild. We already can’t wait to go back!
What an experience with Rest and Wild. Booked The Heather for 2 nights for my birthday and it was wonderful. Very peaceful with breathtaking view. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed it and we're already looking to book our next stay. Can't wait to come back!
We had a peaceful stay with Rest & Wild on Exmoor. The cabin was small but perfectly formed, with great views and attention to detail that made it feel really special. It’s a unique combination of the outdoors and carefully selected creature comforts - the chilled wine in the fridge and delicious cheese and charcuterie we ordered ahead of time were the perfect addition, as were early check-in and late check-out to make the most of our stay. We will definitely be coming again!
I loved every detail about staying at Rest & Wild Exmoor location. The communication was great, they really delivered great experience, it was so blissful and peaceful. Thank you Jimmy, Lucy and 2 lovely people that were cleaning my cabin for early check in and brought my luggage with them, both so sweet🥰 Such a great feature you can order food straight to your cabin so you don’t have to carry it with you and at the same time you can try all the local deliciousness. I loved everything, so so yummy!!! The bread, the milk, the eggs, the butter so tasty! I ordered brunch, cheese and pasta hamper and didn’t eat most of it as for 1 person it was plenty and brought it with me to London so I can still have Exmoor taste for a little longer with me. Brunch hamper is definitely the best value, was disappointed only with pasta hamper as £30 for bag of pasta, jar of tomato sauce and cheese it’s a bit overpriced, I don’t know why I thought it was coming with meatballs as well, I’m sure I’ve seen picture on the website. So that’s my only tiny complaint, but at the same time they provided me some extras so I shouldn’t really complain and it has been appreciated. I’ve stayed 3 nights which was enough for the experience, I think 2 nights which is 1 full day is not enough. I would recommend 3 nights. The cabin is really high quality and designed with attention to details and clean and smells lovely. I’ve stayed at the Heather. I’ve been told by the neighbours from the cabin at the other field that the sheep love my field as they were there most of the time, and that’s actually true, day and night, they were even coming just by the door of the cabin, sooo cute, I loved every minute! The bath outside was definitely a selling point as well. Good quality appliances in the kitchen, great mattress and linen bedding. Lovely views of rounding hills and sunset from the cabin windows and stars at night. Very quiet. I already miss it!! Will definitely try the other location! It is a bit on the pricey side, but also on more luxurious one so it’s worth it. Lovely toiletries as well. Really loved my experience there, so healing. Thank you to all the team, you really did a great job!
Literally perfect. The location, the cabin, the outdoor facilities. I loved every moment of it and so did my partner.
Written by my partner as it was present for him- Everything about this place is perfect. Bought as a gift from my girlfriend. Its like camping without all the terrible parts. Super peaceful and you have everything you need. We cooked on the open fire alot and made use of the pizza oven... simple things that are very fun and very satisfying.. everything is thought out including having books and games to hand. Outdoor bath to use which was special. I honestly can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this place. Bed and bedding was great, really comfy, everything was clean and presented well inside and out. Will be visiting again in the winter as I'm sure the experience will be very different but also just as great... be good to make use of the log burner and experience the view nearer Christmas.
Fantastic stay and experience - would highly recommend! The concept and idea of this is so good - to go off grid, live more simply and switch off from the noise of life. The cabin is done up really well, the views are amazing, the outdoor bath was the icing on the cake - and the quiet…so, so quiet! We were at the Rest and Wild in Shropshire on this occasion, so paid a visit to the town of Ludlow, which is within easy reach too. We wish we could’ve stayed longer and will be looking at this again, maybe even trying the Exmoor site. Thanks Rest and Wild!
From the super helpful signposting to the glorious cabin everything was in place for a relaxing break. Highlights include the views, the outdoor bathing, the comfortable bed, the starry nights (including shooting stars!) Thank you Rest+Wild, we’ll be back.
Well where do I start. Love the fact you have to leave your vehicles at the bottom of the field and take your belongings by cart up to your lodge. The lodge is extremely well kitted out. We stayed in Hairstail, where the views are incredible. Sitting outside, having a bbq which turned into a fire pit whilst drinking wine and watching the sunset. What’s not to like about that!? There is bbq tools, fire lighters, matches, kindling and logs provided! Inside the lodge the interior is to a very high standard. The shower is great, with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided. The kitchen is well equipped with most things you are likely to need to cook with. Tea and Coffee is provided. There is a fridge to keep your milk, wine and and food items cool. There are USB ports to charge two phones The bed is so comfortable, with the linen and towels being so decent we ended up looking at the labels to find them on the internet. Unfortunately we never got chance to use the outside bath, hopefully next time. The lodge was so warm there was no need to use the log burner! We had enough power from the solar panels and did not have to use the generator. Yes the water pressure dropped a couple of times but that had already been explained to us so we were fully prepared and it was back to normal within minutes. A very relaxing break, thank you to the owners for a lovely stay, we will be back again!
Really loved this staycation! Beautiful cabin with no expense spared in fixtures and fittings.
We stayed at The Nightingale (Shropshire) last weekend for 3 nights. Everything about our stay was so wonderfully thought out. We already can't wait to come back!
Great place and location. High-quality cabin with lovely furniture and kitchenware. Great views, an outdoor bath (the best experience ever) and a fireplace. Sheep come to visit which adds to the experience. Small suggestions to the owners are to update your guides and printed in cabin list as some of the descriptions are not accurate, to give a fuller description of what is in the cabin, and what will you recommend guests bring with them (food supply, proper clothing, waterproof shoes, slipper, blanket and etc) and emphasize the absence of sockets. There is no way to charge your laptop or use a hairdryer which is quite important since air drying is not very healthy due to the fact it's quite cold most days and during the night cabin cools down. If you are going to visit be ready to have all necessary outdoor clothing and shoes as you will have to walk through the field up and down during your stay and it can be damp and wet. Also bring your blanket, as it can be helpful for sitting outside. And bring warm slippers as the floor is very cold. Overall great experience! My suggestions are just feedback on our experience and what can improve it. Coming more prepared will definitely give guests a better experience. I wish this business to thrive because it is a wonderful place for people to recharge in nature. And you put a lot of effort into it and attention to detail. Will definitely come back. Thank you!
From the moment we arrived at The Woodrush (Exmoor) we absolutely loved it. Everything about the place was incredible, from the amazing cabin decor, endless views, silent surroundings and of course, the outdoor bath! We booked this for our minimoon and it was perfect. It was a brilliant rural retreat away from the hustle and bustle and we can’t wait to go again! Would highly recommend.
We had an amazing few days in Sparrow cabin. The weather was horrid on the first night but we hunkered down with a bottle of red and the noise of the rain outside. We woke up to the most amazing views of Clae Hill and sheep grazing in the field. The outside bath big enough for two, is a real treat. Outside pizza was amazing! Only downside was we had to come home.
We stayed in the ‘Sparrow’ cabin and had the most beautiful break away! It is a perfect mix between hotel-style room and cabin. The outdoor bath was a personal highlight! It’s the perfect couples getaway 10/10 recommend. I would say that you need to take enough with you to keep you entertained if it rains.
We staying in ‘The Wren’ and it was honestly one of the most relaxing few days we have ever had. Beautiful views over to Clee Hill and having a bath outside was so magical. Cannot wait to book again soon.
