Robinson's Shoemakers is one of Ireland's most prestigious gentlemen's shoe companies offering bespoke shoemaking, traditional English footwear brands, a repair service and Robinson's own brand of off the shelf hand-made shoes.
Established Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland in 1954 by William & Annie Robinson as a local leather workshop and traditional cobbler, Robinson's has been at the centre of Carrickfergus for over 60 years. Now a third generation family business the company continues to grow from strength to strength offering expertise in all things shoe related not just locally but across the world.
In an ever faster paced world, were things rarely stay the same for long, it is refreshing to sometimes stop and to think at how things used to be done. Jun 30,2014I found the website easy to navigate and bought a pair of Sutherland boots - Leather and Harris Tweed. Within an hour of ordering these, I got an email from Robinson's advising that these were large fitting and a size 10 rather than the 10.5 that I had ordered would be a better fit for me. I ok''d that and received the shoes the very next day. Perfect fit and they look a treat. Thank you for a great service and fantastic delivery!

Jun 28,2014You didn't have my requirement in stock and it would take 8-10 weeks to get them in and then another 2 weeks to ship to Australia. An alternative I asked for was going to take 3-4 weeks plus shipping. I was advised to cancel my order and reorder as there was a 17 Pound difference in price. I would have thought that good customer service would have been to send my second preference at NO EXTRA COST as I had been inconvenienced. Just because it was an internet transaction doesn't mean I shouldn't be treated like a customer who actually entered a shop. I still don't have my payment refunded. You were quick enough to take my money but very slow to return it as I haven't seen it yet. I'm very reluctant to even mention the name of your business except in a negative manner.

Jun 25,2014I was told many years ago of three must have's in life and why. 1, Get the very best bed as early on in life as you can "because you'll spend 1/3 of your average life in it, (bought a four poster thats pure heaven to sleep in) 2, Buy the very best car that you like and enjoy driving & looking at . Ive owned the same car for 26 years and still enjoy the driving and the look of it "A Bently eight". Never had one single problem from the day it was bought. 3, Always wear the very best shoe's as your feet will spend a life time in them and will thank you for your efforts and the reward is comfort and pride. Again ROBINSONS have provided me with my latest shoe's but with years of experience and quality thrown in for free, that can't be bettered, Ive just bought my shoes i'll know will last for years to come and a service that'll repair my shoe's when needed with the experience to do such a task . Quality every time pays every time.

The staff are incredibly pleasant and helpful, the service prompt and professional, and the shoes are top quality. One of my top two favorite shoe stores. I will definitely look to them for future shoe needs.

Jun 25,2014Ordering from Australia, I didn't want to have to send the shoes back if they were the wrong size so Kenneth not only showed me (via email instructions) how to measure my feet but came back and said I'd probably done it wrong (ie, too loosely) as the measurements didn't fit with comments I'd made about shoes I already owned. I redid it, ordered, and my shoes arrived a week later - perfect fit and a surprise gift of a pair of socks in the box. I'll be back for more.

The experience has always been excellent, from the user friendly website to the remarkably short time between posting the order and receiving my shoes. I receive their merchandise across an ocean more quickly that than from businesses stateside. And, the free gift is a thoughtful touch that sends a message about the commitment to customer service. I am now a Loake devotee, and only Loakes from Robinson's.

I have been also particularly impressed by the range of merchandise, especially the wide range of sizes they carry as well as the good value for money. In short, this is the best shoe store I patronize. I attribute their customer service to the Belfast location that still takes pride in ownership and keeping customers.

Jul 01,2014Ordered the boat shoes because it is marked Barker.Little desillusion when I saw" Made in Portugal" on the sole.Own a pair of Loake boat shoes size 43 and they fit me perfectly.The Barker shoes size 43 are narrower ,but made of calf leather they probably will give some .Apreciated the very nice socks and shoe horn that came as a present.
