Nov 25,2024The Orithyia Woven Wood shades are as attractive in person as in the website ads! I bought the 70% light blocking version, the solar panel, the Matter over Thread Motor, and the 5 channel remote. When extending and retracting, this motor is amazingly quiet, nearly soundless. It was also a nice touch to have the remote already programmed and ready to go. It was good to learn from numerous online chats that the 7-1/4" valance height, plus 1" of "underhang", which is what shows of the retracted blinds from behind the valance, for a total of about 8-1/4", is part of the length you state when you order. I got exactly the look I was after for super-wide (95"), external mount motorized shades, and thank the online Chat team for their patience. Great work!

Nov 24,2024I called SmartWings customer service to ask about the difference between the Dual Shades vs the Dual Shades Harmony Plus. These are >$1000 shades for our windows and because they're custom-fit, we wanted to make sure to get it exactly right. We called earlier in the week to ask about the fabric and my wife says the lady was quite unhelpful so we ended up buying the SmartWings fabric swatches. Fast-forward to today: The representative, Alex, had no idea what the difference between Dual Shades and Dual Shades Harmony Plus. She looked online, compared them side-to-side and determined that the more expensive Harmony Plus version only offered a box-shaped valance to hide the rollers. I thought that was a silly reason to have a whole new product name and then not do a better job of explaining the difference between the two. I looked up the Harmony Plus version on Youtube, Google, etc without finding anything prompting me to waste time calling about it. So I thought I'd give her some feedback: "Tell your company that they should do a better job of comparing slightly different products, fix the website and generally get their shit together." I made sure she knew that this was general feedback for the company and not a personal dig. Nope, she got aggressive, angry and told me that if I don't like it, I don't have to buy it. WOW! That is not what any customer service rep should say to a potential customer. She told me to email support and when I asked for her name, she then told me that she'd have her supervisor, Rochelle, call me. To her credit, Rochelle called me back a few minutes later. She told me that I was at fault for "cursing and using vulgar language"....okay haha. She also told me to read their glowing reviews which all point to excellent customer service. Alas, perhaps that was the case once but our family is 0 for 2 in terms of positive experiences when calling Smart Wings. Needless to say, I'm hesitant to drop $1-2k on custom shades when their customer service team is consistently invalidating towards even mildly negative feedback. Wonder how they would take truly bad news if their product fails?

Nov 14,2024This is my second purchase. Getting custom shades is easy with SmartWings. Ordering is also easy and installation is surprisingly simple and quick. I have had questions and they have great support and assistance throughout the buying and installation cycle. While I am waiting on the 2nd order placed only yesterday, the first order was shipped within a few days. They were 4 power shades for large slider doors, one of them 13 ft wide! They were delivered within 10 days and I installed them all within 3 hours. They work flawlessly. I purchased the helix remote and a wireless wall control. I am glad I did that as the wall control provides obvious proximity access and the Helix provides remote access from a central place for 8 power shades. Since I just ordered 4 more shades, I don’t need another remote. SmartWings has a great product.

Nov 12,2024The powered shade is very nice, well made and dimensionally correct. But the delivery service certainly could’ve been better. No updates after a few days until I reached out to them. They responded quickly and updated me. But I have to wonder what would’ve happened if I hadn’t contacted them first.

Nov 09,2024Prompt service for making my motorized skylight cellular shade, the measurements were very accurate , the solar panel battery and remote all work very well mine was 45 1/4 X 45 light enough for me to install my myself . These are nice shades and a great price compared to other shade and blind company's .

Nov 04,2024The website was great. I ordered samples and they all didn’t come but I ended up getting white anyway, so it didn’t really matter. They came quickly. They fit great. Easy to install. No directions in box and remote was a quite tricky to figure out. Had to find the right video to help. Eventually, we figured it out. They are hung, they look great, and we know how to operate them. 👍

The blinds and shades have been extremely easy to install and easy to integrate with the remotes as well as Home Assistant.

Nov 02,2024Zigbee setup is poor. Communication with SmartThings is very laggy and terrible to manage. Have multiple roller shades across our home. Seems like setting up lower limits using the remote leads to cross talk between multiple shades and messes up the settings. The last straw was when they stopped communicating with SmartThings altogether.

Nov 01,2024Have purchased over 20 of these motorized blinds and am very pleased after a year of ownership. I use both Amazon and Samsung Smartthings to control their operation. With a lot of windows in my home, I benefit from automated opening at sunrise and closing after sunset. The batteries seems to be great so far and fabric is very nice.
