In 2001, a customer named Jen was building her dream home in southern Michigan and wanted a beautiful stairway. She could see what she wanted in her mind, but the stair parts she wanted were not available through normal outlets. She wanted unique iron balusters with custom box newels. They were willing to accept a sample of my flooring and suggest a stain match. That suggested stain was spot-on when I received my order. The craftsmanship produced some very pleasant results that have garnered nothing but praise from some very experienced individuals.

May 09,2018The cable railing system provided by Stair Supplies is an excellent product and their customer support is excellent as well (5 stars). I also purchased exterior stairs. I was their first customer to install their new tread design, which is a "boxed" construction made from Ipe decking planks and steel corner brackets. Unfortunately, this new design had several design issues; inadequate strength of the tread attachment to the stair stinger and the thread corner brackets interfered with the railing post attachment. These issues should have been fixed prior to marketing this new design. I would have preferred getting their solid wood treads even if it meant refinishing them periodically. The customer support I received to address these issues was good, but it still required a lot of my time to get them installed satisfactory. Fortunately, I was installing them myself so I wasn't being robbed by a contractor for the extra time.

May 08,2018Ordered the stainless steel stair intermediate posts. Showed up quickly with all the required hardware. The base cover provides a nice clean finish. I did have to bend them a little as the bend was not at 90 degrees, but close enough. Looks great as a finished product.

Item's back ordered that even matched with other customer's orders who returned goods, we're inspected and shipped to meet this timely demand. May 08,2018I love the look of our new handrails! StairSupplies were extremely easy to work with. The finish product is exactly the way it appears on their website. We get compliments all the time about the look of the handrails. On the interior, the horizontal rail systems just opens up the whole area! We carried this rail system to the outside deck, and there is no blocking of our view! I am a very satisfied customer!

May 08,2018This was the second order I had placed with Stair Supplies. The first order was a large order, and I had no problem with. In fact, I was quite happy with the quality of the product and the timeliness of the order. The more recent order did not go as well. This was a simple order for 2 step treads and an additional bullnose. Weeks went by before I had to contact them again to ask about the order. In addition, the shipping charges seemed very high for this small order. Once I received the product, the dimensions were correct, but the edge of the one step broke off in less than 2 weeks of light use. The piece was glued on, and not attached with any additional hardware.

May 08,2018I’d give the company 5 stars for the great look of their cable railing but 1 star for their technical support. With a challange in installing a particular part of their system, I called customer service. With no one to answer my question, I left a message. I never received a call back.
