In 2001, a customer named Jen was building her dream home in southern Michigan and wanted a beautiful stairway. She could see what she wanted in her mind, but the stair parts she wanted were not available through normal outlets. She wanted unique iron balusters with custom box newels. Nov 16,2017Product arrive quickly band the staff as very helpful on helping me coordinate my project for cable rails. My only problem was in the instruction for install gave different dimensions than what was needed for drilling depths and I had to go through a few people to get the correct answer. Ultimately they were able to help and installation was fairly simple

Nov 16,2017Bought both horizontal railing and stair uprights, cable, and ancillary supplies and tools from Stair Supplies. They emailed and called several times to make sure they knew what I wanted (and that I knew what I needed!) They also sent a photo of my shipping pallet so I could tell if anything was missing or damaged in transit. I found their selection of colors and styles much more extensive than other companies I investigated. Would definitely buy from them again. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, and they shipped quickly even though I wanted a non-standard color. My contractor had never installed this type of railing system before but he said the accompanying directions and their on-line videos made it a snap. Glad I found this company!

Nov 16,2017If you get anything just a little bit different it is considered custom and you can't return anything. They cost an arm and a leg for shipping and it still takes 6 weeks to get anything. If there was another place to go through I would, but unfortunately because I chose them in the first place now any additional parts I need for the next 10 years I have to go through them. The first purchase was fjne, but after that not do much.

I ordered "wrought Iron" balusters, oak rosettes (that were unavailable in the size I wanted anywhere else I checked), and epoxy and epoxy gun (the gun turned out to cost less at Stair Supplies then other places I checked after my purchase).

Nov 16,2017Gorgeous, well-made handrails (2) - love them to death - but the shipping was BRUTAL! I realize the rails are long and heavy, but I almost backed out of the purchase because of the shipping costs, which, if memory serves, were close to 25% of the overall purchase price. In all honesty, if I could've found a workable product closer to home (Northern Idaho), I would've walked away from the Stair Supplies website.

And the return policy on the tool kit needs to be reviewed, it cost us $38 to return the kit (it's pretty heavy) so we could get our $100 credit! I think the company should pay the shipping on that return since their products are a bit expensive. I do love the end result - the engineering was spot on - but would go with a local company the next time to save on all the expensive shipping costs.

Nov 16,2017Ordered the iron balusters and shoes. They were packaged great. I got the hollow ones and my husband had no problem cutting them to fit, installing. Also got the shoes for each rod. All this was less than half price of an estimate I got for someone to do it!! Very happy! They look beautiful and updated my staircase.
