A rep came and measured our kitchen for a refurb. They also recommended a fitter. When the day came for fitting there were items missing, measurements had been made incorrectly meaning worktops didnāt fit, end panels were missing, hinges were not supplied, no fittings for the handles. Phone calls to customer service didnāt help as they repeatedly referred to t&c which defer any responsibility on their part for any issues. We were unable to return the surplus items. The fitter was a con man who took money and left us with no sink or hob and mitre cuts you can fit your finger in they are so far out. Any discussion with a J&J rep is unhelpful as they repeat the same script referring to t&c putting the onus on the buyer to double check all measurements, thatās why you use the designer service. Went in The Range today and they are still advertising āour experienced and dedicated designers will work with youā¦ā they omit the part where if they make a mistake, you have to pay for it. An absolute joke.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Jonas & James (Swindon branch) ((part of the Range)), and I must say that it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I am compelled to share my poor experience to warn others about the incompetence and lack of professionalism displayed by this company. Firstly, they failed to adhere to the agreed delivery dates, causing unnecessary delays and inconvenience. Even worse, their communication was appalling, with emails regarding the delivery date being sent late or not at all. To make matters worse, I discovered that items were added to my order without my consent or knowledge. This left me puzzled and frustrated, as I received cupboard doors that were all left-handed, causing significant fitting and functionality issues in my kitchen. Throughout the process, the lack of expertise and advice from their so-called "experts" and technicians was evident. The plans they provided had numerous issues regarding measurements and failed to account for proper space for door openings. Instead of owning up to their mistakes, they desperately searched for loopholes and tried to shift the blame onto the customers. Their poor planning and mismanagement resulted in a significant delay in the delivery of my kitchen, causing the tradesmen I had lined up to move on to other jobs. Consequently, I had to find other kitchen fitters at short notice, incurring additional costs. The kitchen plan provided by the company was so flawed that the fitter had to improvise and use his own method to make things work. This further highlights the lack of expertise and professionalism within the company. Considering the substantial amount I paid for my kitchen, I expected a smooth and satisfactory experience. However, the reality was far from that. The entire process took over 6 weeks and subjected my family and me to an enormous amount of stress, not to mention the financial implications of their mistakes. When I filed a complaint with the company, I was shocked to learn that they attempted to deflect responsibility by claiming that the planner was not adequately trained. This excuse is completely unacceptable, as they should have qualified personnel handling critical aspects of their business. Even when I attempted to return unused parts due to their lack of attention to detail, they refused to accept the returns, leaving me stuck with unnecessary items that I never wanted in the first place. In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering Jonas & James to avoid them at all costs. Their incompetence, poor communication, and unwillingness to take ownership of their errors resulted in a disastrous experience for me and my family. Save yourself the stress, time, and money, and seek a more reputable and professional kitchen company.
The kitchen was measured incorrectly and both the designer and J&J refused to admit the error, no customer service at all. Utterly unprofessional, lied to, the most rude letter sent, which I am happy to reproduce for public consumption. If you have to deal with someone named Claire in the escalations team be prepared to be treated like she's scraped you off the bottom of her shoe.
Our experience with Jonas & James has been a very positive experience. Scott the kitchen designer based at the Range Bournemouth was very professional, polite, respectful. Scott had a good knowledge of all the kitchen products we required. Dom our kitchen builder who was introduced to us by Scott again was extremely professional, polite, honest, & respectful he also made a first class job building our kitchen. We would certainly recommend to anyone requiring a first class service.
Kitchen is really nice, seems good quality. Colin in the Range, Stockport showroom was super helpful even with sourcing parts they couldn't offer. Had a one door damaged and one wrong size, both were replaced hassle free and quickly. Overall really good experience at an affordable price.
Well where to start. The design made for us is all wrong. The Swindon store representative accidently put the wrong figures/ measurements into the computer, making our kitchen bigger than it is. Meaning that a kitchen was supplied that doesn't fit the space. And wrong work top which the designer agreed was wrong one and which they said were in contact with supplier to say it was too. When then told WE would have to pay for new and different unit's at our own expense.. we went to the citizens advice, their consumers advice consumers section said we could get money back and cancel it all. Their reply was it's all our fault we should have checked measurements (on peice paper they were correct.. was put into computer wrong how is that our fault, we didnt touch their computer and the person whom served us admitted it was their fault) and the company they aren't kitchen designers.??? Being blamed for their mistakes is disgusting, not even sorry let's sort it out for you.. not you need to pay more and by the way you have to keep that expensive work top too as we not changing it... if known this at beginning wouldn't have touched with barge pole, NO customer service what so ever.. RUN PLEASE RUN WHILE YOU CAN.. Still indispute will update if and when, they provide a proper sorry . And money back
We decided to use Jonas & James for our new kitchen based upon the quality of their products, simple design process and perhaps most importantly due to the superb service provided by Kirsty who works from Doncaster and York. This is customer service as it should be... she has great product knowledge, design sense, experience of the fitting process and an approach which has customer satisfaction at the heart of everything. We were not pushed into buying any extras and we were happy to trust Kirsty's recommendations. Very happy... and the kitchen is looking fantastic too!
Kirsty the designer who runs the York and Doncaster showrooms was brilliant. We cannot fault the service she gave us. Nothing was too much trouble and she really went that extra mile to ensure we were totally happy with every aspect of our new kitchen. She was always ready to accommodate any ideas we put forward as well as coming up with excellent design ideas. When the kitchen was delivered and fitted she was only too happy to liaise with our fitter Paul who I have to say was very impressed with the help and advice Kirsty provided. He was also impressed with the quality of the product he was fitting and was going to recommend to others. I cannot thank Kirsty enough for her friendly but professional help and advice. I now have an amazing kitchen which I love thanks to her super design.
From start to finish the service was great Kirsty at the range Doncaster measured and designed the kitchen and was very knowledgable about what would work well. The kitchen fitters Andy and Paul were friendly and efficient and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I wanted. First class service.
We had a great experience with Sara. Her expertise and helpful attitude has left us with a beautiful kitchen which my partner has always wanted, even when one of our appliances turned up scratched she was prompt in arranging a new one asap and always kept us in the knowhow with the whole process from start to finish. The cabinets are also of great quality would reccomend to everyone.
This is an ongoing issue from July 2022. We complained that the designer lied to us in the commission of this sale, and incorrectly measured our kitchen. In their latest response, Jonas & James appear to have resorted to using the trope that non-white immigrants do not understand English well enough to understand simple sentences in two different conversations. They "anticipate" that we didn't understand "the message Debbie had intended to convey". From their statement about us not understanding the message, I could only conclude that they are questioning our ability to perceive the intended meaning of English words strung together to form a sentence. The conversations they are referring to happened on two separate occasions. The first was where I asked about the software that they use and the second happened after I had contacted ArtiCAD, the company that developed the software. In the first conversation Debbie mentioned ArtiCAD by name as their design software and said that it doesn't do angles. In the second conversation, after I had contacted ArtiCAD to confirm that their software does do angles, she changed her story to say that they use a different (unnamed) software application. What did we understand from those two conversations? We understood that they use two different design applications, and we understand that one of them is not up to the task of designing kitchens accurately. We took a long time to respond to their last message, as we were very taken aback by the idea that they could resort to the "non-white immigrant no understanding English good" trope, and didn't know how to respond to that eloquently enough to disabuse them of that notion. We were very angry at the insulting language used in the communications and I waited for my ire to abate before responding. I don't expect that we will get an answer from them soon, but there is a positive in all this. When we ordered the kitchen based on their designer's measurements, there were cornices that we could not use because the measurements were wrong. Jonas & James offered to refund the price of those as a "gesture of goodwill and final settlement", which is essentially business speak for "we made a mistake, but we're not going to admit it, so take this and go away". The cornices were surplus to requirements because Debbie had incorrectly measured the height of our kitchen. She even tried to convince us that our kitchen ceiling was uneven to cover her mistake. To the point that the kitchen ceiling height was measured in her presence to show that it was consistent, and prove that the error was hers. I accepted this insulting offer and asked them to contact me to process the payment, but I also asked them to address the other issues, not just the miss-sold cornices. I wanted a response to the questions that I had raised. At that point they balked and the "gesture of goodwill" was never mentioned again. This has been a long and exhausting process, but I'm not going to give up. We were lied to in the commission of the sale and provided with an inferior service, all of that has now been exacerbated by the rather uncomplimentary appraisal of our conversational English comprehension skills. We are now considering contacting BBC Watching, and presenting what has transpired here on other social media channels (Tik-Tok, Twitter, Discord, etc.), in the hope that it does not happen to anyone else.
The whole experiance couldnt be faulted. Roxanne was very helpfull when ordering. Delivery updates given throughout after ordering. Delivery was very well with the whole order complete. āØāØI got an experienced Joiner/ Kitchen fitter he found the quality the best he has ever come across from any of the other suppliers. Quality outstanding and easy to install. I wouldnāt go nowhere else. I bought dove grey Kitchen from Jonas & james Kitchens , our experience from start to finish was exceptional !! Roxanne planned & designed my kitchen which I love š Roxanne over looked the job from start to finish , she was happy to answer any queries though out the whole process.. she even popped down a couple of times to see how the job was going .. Thank you so much for the lovely design āØI have recommended Jonas & James kitchens to all our friends and family just love my new kitchen.
Colin was fantastic , so knowledgeable and helpful Would totally recommend anyone thinking of purchasing a new kitchen to go and see him
Iāve just had a new kitchen from Jonas&James and I couldnāt be happier with the whole process . Colin was super helpful when I went in to choose it and wasnāt at all pushy like some of The salesmen I had previously been to . Colin was quick to respond to any issues during the fitting of it and efficient and knowledgeable about the kitchen . My kitchen was very competitively priced and of high quality and looks amazing . I would definitely recommend Jonas &James if you are looking for a new kitchen.
Excellent customer service from Irfan and Gwen at the Kidderminster branch. The specification of the cabinets was better than any others we found in this price range. There is also an excellent choice of door styles and finishes. Excellent value for money
We decided that we needed a new kitchen as we had no storage space and the kitchen was well past its sell by date. I looked at the reviews for Jonas and James kitchens (who are based in The Range in York). We went to the York Range and saw Kirsty ( Designer and manager of Jonas and James York and Doncaster branches). She agreed to come over to our house and design the kitchen for us. Kirsty was prompt and her design was great. We agreed to the kitchen. Firstly the kitchen was ripped out by Andy, plumbers, electricians and plasterers all organised and came on the right days and then the fitting - what can I say about this, I cannot praise the lads enough ! Andy and Paul were absolutely marvellous, couldnāt do enough for us, explained what they were doing at each step and by the time they had finished, it was great - tidied up after themselves. I really cannot praise this company enough, Kirsty for creating so much cupboard space and room in the kitchen and Paul and Andy for the fitting of the kitchen and the thoughtfulness in doing it. The units themselves are sturdy and built to last. I will be recommending them to all my friends and colleagues.
Unprofessional, unorganised! Avoid!!! Booked an appointment for a virtual design. A lady called me a day before to say to she might be half an hour late! I logged on time 12:30 waited for 1.5hrs and no one admitted me into the meeting. 2:05 the lady messaged me ādo you want to reschedule, just finished with the customerā!!!! Really!!! If you know that itās going to take 4hrs to design a kitchen then allow 4hrs and donāt let people wait! Complete waste of time. Free advice: learn some time management skills, very helpful for your business Do not contact me again! I definitely donāt want to rescheduleā¦
I purchased my kitchen from willenhall branch in Dec 22. We had our kitchen delivered mid January 23 and we didn't have it installed until early Feb 23. During the installation we found out our kitchen designer oversold us 6 or 7 extra kitchen panels. When we raised this query with customer service we were told we was not in a position to refund and we should of checked prior to ordering. I mean, how were are to know the kitchen designer over sold us these extra panels? Your designers designed our kitchen. So if there are extra panels surely it the responsibility of the designer / company. Not the customer! I was also told by my designer that I would be able to fit a 900m extractor. Fitted the extractor on and it now boiler door catches the extractor when its opened. The whole journey and experience with this company wasn't very good at all. I would suggest you spend your hard earnt cash somewhere else. Don't make the same mistake we did. On a brighter note, Claire from customer service team and the designer from Kidderminster were pretty helpful. So I can't knock thier efforts to help resolve the situation.
I spotted the kitchen way before I had any plans to do mine. Then when the time came I went straight to the Bournemouth Range store to discuss my options. I met Scott McArthur and he was fabulous through my whole experience! He listened to what I had in mind and gave me great solutions that were personal to me and my home. Scott listens to what your expectations are and explains the process really clearly. He takes the time and effort with you to go through the process and personalise the experience for the individual. Scott is there through the whole process from start to finish. Any issues he gets it sorted quickly and efficiently. He goes above and beyond to help his customers. Jonas and James Bournemouth have a great asset in Scott and should be really pleased with his personal and professional skills. I am so happy with the outcome.

Sep 04,2023I canāt fault the service I had from Jones and James, from Doncaster and York kitchen designer Kirsty to the fitters Andy and Paul, who were very tidy, they were all very pleasant and very good company, my kitchen looks wonderful,
