When I was paired with a tutor I did not feel had the right skills or background, it was really easy to provide Varsity with my specific needs and get a new tutor quickly who was above and beyond great. I especially love the feature that allows you to get help immediately if you are stuck on your homework.

Nov 15,2024Update: Customer service called me and acknowledged their mistake. I have received a refund for all the months of unwanted subscriptions. I think they should send monthly or quarterly statements so customers are aware of what they are being charged. I'm happy I got my money back. Varsity tutors is a money-making scam. I signed up for 4 session package. My daughter did not even use all the sessions. Unknown to me they converted my package into a monthly subscription and continued to bill my credit card, with no monthly statements being sent to me at all. When I discovered the problem they refused to issue a refund for all the unused monthly hours. How can they do this? They should have been sending me monthly statements so I could see what was happening. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

Nov 15,2024The tutors are wonderful but your billing not so good. When you get a credit for your tutor canceling you should get 2 months to use it. Parents that have set schedules and work sometimes don’t always have enough time by the end of the month to make up a session. I’ve spent a lot of money tutoring my kids through your company and I’ve lost three days.

Nov 14,2024We have had a great experience over the first 3 months or so. My 2 boys (ages 13 and 11) have taken to it very well and don't mind doing it at all! Their tutor is very professional and has built a good report with them. Overall extremely satisfied.

Nov 14,2024This company's promises when they were selling me their product doesn't quite match what I received. Most notably, I was told there were numerous online self-study resources I could take advantage of, including an AI tutor. As far as I can tell, none of these tools are available for my category of study (professional development) and are only available for K-12. Additionally, I signed up on October 7th, and despite trying to get tutoring sessions scheduled ASAP I had to wait a month before having my first session. In the interim I was assigned two different tutors, one of whom was attempting to teach me a different version of the test I need to take and the other of whom is not in my field and can't really explain the technical aspects of the things I have questions about. Lastly, when I try to contact Varsity by the text number I'm given (which I have now received three different conflicting numbers for), it seems like nobody ever answers, and on the rare occasion that they do it's clear that every message has a different person responding to it because they have no idea what I'm asking about and can't see my previous messages. While I appreciate the help of the tutor I'm working with now, Varsity also assigned me tutoring sessions that are outside my window of availability, and since my tutor was in another hemisphere, his flexibility was very limited by the time difference. This has all been immensely frustrating, but I have admittedly gained confidence from the strategy my current tutor has applied to our studies.

In this first session, I found out some interesting points that will help him to learn many words that he was having trouble remembering! I'm optimistic that he will advance from what he'll learn from Varsity Tutors!

Nov 13,2024worst tutoring experience ever. either they wouldn’t show up or they’d cancel and i would get a new tutor and they would resign before i could even get a session in. VT denied my request to get my money back after not having a session for a month and a half. awful don’t recommend.
