Nov 21,2024This company is shady. They charge in upwards of > $60 per tutoring hour for members but only pay their tutors $15-$18 an hour. As a former employee, there were often technical glitches with the platform too. Combined together, the investment isn’t worth it. Some tutors are good, but more often that not, students get paired with an under qualified, underprepared tutor.

Nov 19,2024Pairing Ms. Patti as my sons Spanish tutor was spot on. My son needed to prepare for testing and she has more than equipped him for the task. My child feels he has built a comfortable rapport with Ms. Patti that he has asked to continue tutoring even after his testing is completed. And we are so happy he shared that and will have him keep tutoring with Ms. Patti. She has a great ease and effective method with her teaching style. We greatly approve and appreciate Ms. Patti!!!

Nov 19,2024Could not understand the tutor. Tutor constantly rescheduled and cut time short for various reasons. Was promised a score increase but after countless hours the test score went up only by 20 points. We spent thousands of dollars on this service but it amounted to nothing.

Nov 18,2024My son enjoyed the tutor. I am disappointed by the process. I was told over and over how important it was to confirm my session once finalized. I logged in and confirmed my sessions and the chat that I received. I was assigned Tue and Thur for my student. But then after Tuesday session all the Thursdays disappeared. It makes no sense. If my sessions are Tue, Thur as a package where do I go to accept Thursday??? I was told I was supposed to log in and accept. I did just that! But the 2nd tutor day was removed from my students account. Understanding this system and confirming sessions makes NO sense and seems like it takes a tutor just to help me get a tutor pretty sad. I wish it was more of a seamless process. If I log in and confirm then both days should be set!

Nov 18,2024I specifically signed up for two months. I was very clear it was just for prep before the SAT. However, they kept charging me and refused to give a refund. They stole $1500 from my daughter before I realized. Nobody told me I would have to cancel and they woman on the phone was like... well it's in the fine print you agree to. This is a tactic to steal from children about to college. Absolutely shameful!

Nov 17,2024Varsity Tutors is a money grab, they charged me $800 for sessions equating to $74 per hour. I tried requesting a refund after my first 2 hour session for all my remaining time and they said they have absolutely no refund policy. Complete money grab.

Nov 17,2024The tutor was awesome, but you membership is pricey (some people just want a tutor and don't care about everything else you have to offer!!!). I thought it was ridiculous that I had to call to cancel...most memberships have a cancel button. Now after canceling, my series tutoring sessions keep showing up, and there is no button to cancel either. What's wrong with who designed this system?
