Edit August 2022. We issued small claim court proceedings against 5day under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which states that my son was entitled to have undertook this course with reasonable care and skill. The court accepted the claim. 5day disputed with their normal embellishment of the facts. Before the court set a trial date, 5day paid up the full amount requested which was the whole course monies minus the two hours of abusive driving that my son had. 5day state that the driving instructor no longer works for them and the refund is by no means an admittance of their appalling service provided to my son. This was a fairly straightforward process to go through, keep all evidence, log all calls and emails. They are the most unprofessional company, who threaten and bully their younger clientele and refuse to talk to parents citing GDPR. The director Jo Minkler was not impressed that I contacted her politely, through Linkedin before any complaints were raised to try and sort out , I suggest Richard Minkler affords me the same courtesy and does not look me up on Linkedin again. Edit following 5day response to complaint letter. Please all that are reading look at the growing number of terrible/poor reviews on here and please do not hesitate to contact me as many similar complaints will help everyone's legal proceedings. Edit 4) 5day - Yet again you respond to my updates less than truthful. My son did indeed record the driver due to the atmosphere and attitude presented when he got into the car, after initially complaining to yourselves regarding the poor condition of the car and the conduct of the driver. The recordings also demonstrate the driver Baset Eljaafari refusing to provide his ADI number and had also removed it from his windscreen (illegal?) Mr Eljaarfari also tried to grab my sons phone after his intimidation and threatening manner was caught on the recording. You have not responded as to why Mr Eljaafari had removed his ADI number, what you have responded with is Mr Eljaafari account verses my sons'. On the balance of probabilities, taking into account the contemporaneous telephone conversations and correspondence to yourselves immediately, the aforementioned recordings and the other complaints against your driving school and Mr Eljaarfari. We have a good case to take further. Edit number 3 ) 5day say they have investigated thoroughly and found my son - the licence holder to be at complete fault and not the instructor. Who has blatantly lied if the written response is to be believed. By the way no reply to why the instructor did not have his ADI on display and refused to provide it. Therefore they will not be recompensing any of the £1200 paid. The whole company prey on the young and when the parents get involved they shout GDPR. Will update again once this has been taken further. Please take note and book elsewhere complete and utter disgrace and scam Edit 2) 5day are insisting my son - the licence holder either continues or forfeits as per their terms and conditions. However he is not refusing to drive he has asked for a better instructor and car. The driving instructor in question Baset, has refused to provide his ADI number. I have no interest in your opinion that my comments are defamatory. Your whole process is contradictory to your website and I am sure we can go down that route. The DVSA have advised that your instructor Baset has to provide his ADI number… does he have one? I suggest 5day you also provide factual information regarding the conversation with my son (whose email address you cannot manage to reply too) or myself. Your customer service complaints took nearly two days to reply to the email you requested following the initial phone call to raise a complaint. In which time he has now lost two full days of the allocated 20 hours driving. He has already passed his theory and you have no tests, so in effect this is working out at £60 per lesson of which two days have been wasted due to your timeframe in replying. Hence messaging your director via a platform to ensure she is aware of the concerns presented Comment edited as unable to reply to 5day response 1st Review - Parents beware - My son had his first lesson and an hour in to the lesson, called the company to lodge a complaint about the driver and the quality of the car. He has now lost two days of his lessons. The options provided, he continues with a rude, unhelpful driver who has a broken clutch on the car or forfeits the £1200 paid. The most appalling customer service who refuse to provide their name and blatently laugh when you ask for a copy of their complaints procedure. The director Jo Minkler has no interest in the company or complaints raised and is obviously not available via telephone. No office to attend locally. NO TESTS AVAILABLE EITHER. Do not be fooled
Paid for the course. Received no confirmation. Tried calling several times left messages. Sent emails. Tried various numbers YOU CANNOT get through to the company directly. The phones go through to an overflow call centre where they really don't care. The course is not cheap and I have no details despite parting with a significant amount of money. I would say terrible customer service but its so bad I cannot even manage to speak to anyone. Absolutely appalled.
Had Tristan Andrews, brilliant instructor and extremely friendly. Had one top up lesson a couple of days before the test and then sailed through with a pass and no minors. Couldn’t recommend him more. Thanks mate!!!
Excellent way to get your theory and practical handled at the same time.
I had Baset in Birmingham as my driver for 1 week , what can I say he’s a natural teacher . I would highly recommend him and 5 day . They definitely know how to mate u get ready for your test passed my theory after struggling for months . We had a laugh . Stayed calm can’t say anything bad about him he’s just a legend , hope anyone who does 5 day in Birmingham gets him and u will definitely pass your test , his techniques on routines are spot on 😃😃
Tough course but enjoyable and always learning new things. Before the course I couldn’t drive at all and struggled with the theory. I’ve now passed the theory and feel much more comfortable on the road and I am hoping to have my test soon thanks to Graham and the team. Would recommend to anyone!
Passed me test today 1st time absolutely over the moon, had a really great time learning in class all week. Got better an better as the days went on an had Chris Cooper as me instructor such a great guy. Really learned a lot from him #1 funny guy to with his all his little sayings hahaha Mirror mirror, signal, blindspot. Green is mean, red is your best friend. Yes Chris hahahahaha
It is not value for money for the actual driving tuition hours you receive. We are out of pocket for £1200 for less than 20 hours tuition and a theory pass which he would have passed studying at home anyway. Please read the small print - you are not guaranteed to be at practical test level when you finish and this is blamed on driver ability and not the fact there is insufficient practical driving time given. This is what happened with my son. After paying £1200 for the course - which I thought would get him test ready I was told he was not up to driving test standard and not ready to submit for the test. I was told that he would need additional lessons either at home (not possible, no car) or with a paid instructor. This is not what I was expecting, no chance of a refund - read the small print. Trying to get a refund of the driving test fee organised through their link which was processed even though he is not ready for the test. Very disappointing and I would avoid using, there is a reason they charge £1200 and not £2000+ like other intensive courses, go elsewhere and pay the extra to be up to driving test standard.
I enjoyed coming to classes. I learned a lot . .I was always encouraged that I could, and I was .Thank you very much 5DAY (Emilio)
I took this course to get test ready after lots of experience driving my own car with family and friends. Raf made me feel comfortable and ready for my test. I would highly recommend Raf. I passed first time with Raf with 2 minors.
Helpful course to learn to drive
Emilio has been amazing and made everything super easy to remember! So happy!
5day helped me pass first time, Chris and graham and James all helped me with any questions I needed help with and gave me good ways to remember them, James was my practical instructor and is the best instructor ive had thanks a lot to these 3 and especially James 🤘🤘🤘
My experience was absolutely brilliant, I had not done any revision for theory before taking the course and only some basics of clutch control etc with my mum after my birthday in mid November 2021. I did the 5day course at Bury St Edmunds in the week of the 20th Dec 2021. The Bury St Edmunds branch were very friendly and supportive, and even though I was a nervous driver at first, my instructor was amazing and built up my confidence. They taught us everything we needed to know for both the theory and practical tests, and I passed both first time. Absolutely could not have done it any other way but with this course. I would definitely recommend to anyone, and it worked especially well for me as I don’t have much spare time, so to get it all done in a week was absolutely perfect. It was also especially helpful that 5day booked both the theory and practical tests for me, so I didn’t need to worry about any of it, and I was lucky enough to get my test after only 2 weeks or so. I have friends who do weekly lessons, and have already spent more money on those than I did with 5day, and they have been learning for over 6 months, whereas I passed my practical test only 2 months into being 17. Really great experience, so friendly and supportive, worked perfectly for me!
Such a brilliant experience, Emillio is fantastic, I wouldn’t have passed my theory without his help!
Absolutely terrible experience with 5 day I would not recommend it to anybody once I had passed my theory I tried to book my test at the Manchester branch in September they then explained that there wasn't any tests available there but there was availability in St helens however they could not provide me with a car which was not sufficient so I requested a refund and I am still waiting for this to be processed 5 months later
Rafiq was as brilliant instructor after the lessons I felt confident I could pass me test first time, currently I waiting for my date. However if it wasn’t for Rafiq I wouldn’t be so confident.
Did my 5day course in Norwich. It was an absolutely amazing week. Very exhausting but definitely worth it. Had Donnie as my instructor and he was very patient and a great person to talk to. Definitely a good person to have a laugh with as well. On the last day I had my theory and passed so now I’m prepared and ready for my test :) 💪🏼
Really great driving place passed theory and practical first try, lovely instructors

Mar 10,2022worst company ever - 4hrs driving a day - meaning 20hrs and I paid £1000+ and then they say your not ready. This company is a joke
