I complained to the Company about the Chicken Jalfrezi with rice. To their credit, Alice has sent me a voucher for £8.75 in order that I may try another product.
Had the paella , overpriced , too acidic , more like a risotto. Tomato overpowered the flavour off all the other ingredient's .
Had a Thai red curry. Simply poor. It- Definitely not for 2 people and the rice is some of the worst ever from a ready meal. Not even the right sort of grain. At that price I expected much better, 2-3 quid is about it's worth.
Tikka masala for 2. £8.95 get a grip. Absolute rip off. Aldi or lidl 10 times better and less than 3 quid.
Terrible lasagne….. I’ve bought the Charlie Binghams lasagne numerous times but over the past couple of years, I have noticed the quality has rapidly deteriorated. It used to be superb. Rich ragu sauce with tender, finely-minced beef. Now the sauce is watery and I’ve found big clumps of light coloured beef which is really off putting. What’s happened to the mince??? It’s definitely not the same. I expect more for £9 especially when the Morrison’s £6 lasagne knocks Binghams out of the park. The price of Binghams has gone up yet the quality has gone down. I gave it a try again tonight and has the same horrible cheap, clumps of meat and watery sauce. I think I’ll give Binghams a very wide berth from now on.
Poor storage form budgins but don’t waist your money sloped on some pieces of paper leaks in oven crap product!
Tried the Bread and butter pudding for the first time. A bit expensive I thought so expected something special. But although it looked very nice and the texture was good the taste was most unpleasant. Far too sweet for me that made it inedible so could not eat it.
I tried one that was on special offer, about half price. It was okay I suppose. It was curry and rice. The rice was not good quality, rather bland. The curry was okay for half price but it was difficult to avoid serving soggy paper along with the curry. I would never pay full price for this.
We brought two of the Charlie Bighams puddings. I’ve been dying to try for ages. They are pricey so must be good right? Wrong!! We got the chocolate fondant and the lemon drizzle pudding. We tried the lemon one first, the flavour was nice but the texture was awful. It was almost grainy. I even had to check the packaging to make sure it wasn’t gluten free and polenta had been used to replace the flour. It was so unpleasant I didn’t even eat it. Unfortunately the chocolate on was exactly the same. But also this was greasy along with that. Really disappointed and just goes to show just because something is more expensive doesn’t mean it is better.
Delicious food Good portions Quite pricey but definitely worth it xxx
Just tried the chicken tikka for two. I think you would need to add a couple of side dishes with it to make it a dinner. Anyway it was disappointing ~ I could have done better with a jar of tikka sauce. Will never buy again.
Have regularly purchased the Fish pie and have found it tasty in the past. However the last couple ( since they started to stick the packaging down - why?! - annoying and difficult remove) have been really tasteless. So disappointing as quite expensive
Don’t buy meatballs al formo! The manufacturer puts four meatballs on top which are visible through the packaging. Underneath there is only cheap pasta and tomato sauce. Also very overpriced
Have had the smoked haddock au gratin for second time. Found it VERY DISAPPOINTING. original fish pie much better. Haddock gratin not to be repeated
Charlie Bighams fish pie used to be a favourite but the price went up and the fish contents down. Where are the prawns? So purchased a top of the range own brand fish pie from a well known supermarket, for much less money & got a superior product. The moral of the story is don't stay loyal to a brand, quality can go down, shop around!
Really delicious foods, all in good quality.
Utterly awful. Stodgy. Poor sauce of which there was very little SIX layers of thick pasta. I like Charlie bighams as a rule though portions of meat seem to be reducing. This was awful
We have really enjoyed all of the Charlie Bigham range of dishes we have tried so far, however I have to say the smoked haddock gratin was truly awful. We wondered what was making the awful smell in the fridge and I almost didn't cook it in case it was off. ( It was in date) no taste at all. Very disappointing.
Just had Charlie Bingham's chicken satay curry with fragrant rice. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!. Only one problem, not available for 1 person 😢😢. But THANK-YOU very much for a delicious meal.

Feb 27,2022I was delighted to see an individual pack of a steak and ale pie BUT oh dear …. it was nothing like the steak and ale pie in the 2 pack! There is SO much pastry - not good for a diabetic or someone watching their carb intake! Package said ‘ fresh pastry’ …. does this mean you sometimes use stale pastry? Why not say shortcrust pastry - then we would know we weren’t getting puff pastry. There was a picture hidden inside which I didn’t notice til I got home! Why not put it on the front so we can see what we’re getting? There was no ceramic dish - probably a good idea because they usually went in the recycling bin. BUT they were more expensive! Why? Cheap foil dish + more pastry should equal cheaper price. So, won’t be buying again. Waitrose do their own pies for half the price and the frozen ‘Cook’ meals are good quality and better priced. I also bought a fish pie but there again the contents were inferior ie no prawns. Very disappointing. Goodbye Charlie Bingham, you started well but your standards have slipped very badly.
