Aug 23,2021Very disappointing and Tesco Finest fish pie beats this by a mile. Had very little fish which was mainly salmon and loads of sloppy mashed potato. No prawns either. Waste of money and over rated.

Aug 21,2021I bought Lasagne at Waitrose! So salty! I had to throw it away! The list of ingredients is really misleading! Give the Carbonara a go! Exactly the same! Had to throw it away!inedible! Is it just me? I’ve always season food when cooking! But goodness help anyone who uses condiments on these dishes before eating!

Aug 12,2021Bought a sticky ginger pudding. It’s is less than half as deep as the wooden container with a half inch gap all the way round. Terrible value for money. It says serves 2-4 there is no way this would serve 4

Aug 08,2021This is my first red Thai curry from Charlie Bighams, for the last 35 years I have visited all parts of Thailand and love the food hand on heart I can say that is the best Red Thai Curry I have eaten outside Thailand, the chicken is so tender and moist and the sauce transports you back to so many happy moments I can’t wait to try the green one. Delicious. Thank you simply the best!

Aug 08,2021Their Tikka,korma and red thai curry is better than any takeaway. We have stopped getting a curry from our local and get this instead. we also like the cottage/Sheppard's pie too. Not tried any others. Only negative is their meal for two tikka is really for one! But still good value for the quality

Aug 07,2021Absolutely Shocking! I purchased two Chilli Con Carne with Mexican Rice. Full of gristle and no flavour of Chilli, but lots of chunks of Carrot? I emailed them and got this reply, part of: "In the meantime, I’d hate for you to have paid for a dish that you didn’t enjoy and I’d love to make this up to you by sending you a voucher to have your next Charlie Bigham’s dish on us. If you’d like to take me up on this offer, just let me know your address and I will get this out in the post to you". Well no voucher !! Overpriced small portion food with appalling Customer Service, I make a predication: within the next year this company will no longer exist or have to rebrand due to such a poor reputation.

Aug 05,2021Just bought another Charlie product and once again the plastic seal is broken. The plastic is stretched and heated over the edges of the wooden tray, and this causes small perforations in the plastic. This means you cannot eat it as it has not been sealed. I would imagine the lady who wrote below about being ill after her meal probably had food poisoning. Always check the plastic seal before cooking. I have had to bin half a dozen meals over the last couple of months and will not be buying anymore .

Aug 02,2021I recently brought a chicken in white wine sauce with mash potatoes. This was my first time I tried it and was very pleased with the look and taste. I will definitely try other meals has soon as I can get hold of one. The package it came in was very smart. In fact I washed out the container to use again. I will definitely recommend the chicken dinner to my friends. Well done Charlie from a happy first time buyer.

Jun 20,2021Tried the Cottage Pie and so disappointing. Looked good but absolutely no real taste. We were expecting a rich wine and thyme flavoured gravy and there was this bland brown tasteless gravy. Have bought CB pies occasionally several years ago - could not get them abroad- but if the taste of the Cottage Pie is an indication of the taste of the food now will save the money - costs of CB 's food is not cheap - and cook myself. In fact last Cottage Pie mix I made was definitely more flavoursome of red wine and thyme then the one we ate last night. Also would need a microscope to find the Cheddar cheese, Parmesan and breadcrumbs that was supposedly on the bland slightly lumpy potato topping.

Jun 05,2021I shop at Waitrose and ordered CBs Chicken Kiev something different so I thought but how wrong I was I genuinely thought there was some type 😅of tomato 🍅as a sauce. Anyway placed on oven tray 180 centre of oven 30 mins and served with rice. Must say still looking for the garlic but when you cut into them there was green gunge and hollow centre. We ate them and then within a short space of time I was in the bathroom spewing like mad and the vomiting lasted till 4a.m. Really most unwell and trying to hydrate myself to day. I have now had practically every meal and husband said you weren't well when you had the Korma. So he looked up contents and was absolutely amazed to read the ingredients. So iam not satisfied that it was food poisoning but most certainly could be due to the many additives contained so in future I will give a miss to this over priced food and purchase items not full of this and that. Really wonder if wooden tray is necessary as this doesn't even go in the oven!

May 24,2021We found a bone in a Charlie Bigham Lasagne. Luckily we had spotted it before our child had eaten his portion but it is quite sizeable and was therefore a choking hazard. I contacted the company to let them know, sent a photo of the bone and of the packaging of the lasagne. I received an apology and a promise of vouchers. No vouchers arrived. Have lost confidence in these products and the very poor customer service.

May 18,2021Have now tried quite a few of your dishes which have been excellent. However I cannot say the same thing about the beef stroganoff which had dry tough beef in it and was NOT seasoned enough! Not worth the price at all.

May 04,2021Beautiful meals but why such small portions?? I usually buy a ‘meal for 2’ just for myself and even then, with the curries you don’t really get a decent portion of meat - and end up with loads of rice left over. The meals for 1 are far too small - more like a lunch time snack? The price is about right to be honest, it’s really decent quality and tastes delicious - I pay similar prices from a take away and that is much less tasty - it’s just the sizes! Charlie - can you give us any comment?

Apr 30,2021Very ordinary vegetable Lasagne that was extremely difficult to serve as pasta has stuck to the paper at the base of the cardboard tray during cooking. Threw most of it away

Aug 24,2021This food line recently appeared in Sainsburys Fosse Park Leicester. I have to say the cheese dishes are the best I've ever tasted..nothing bland here !!! As an expert in cooking and eating Indian food, and after living in India the paneer and chicken spices were delightful and authentic..and my husband adores the cottage pie, lasagne and meatballs. All packaged with the environment in mind We're hooked!!! Mike and Andy
