This is a crook site. I got an email from them about an alleged copyright infringement in a blogpost written six years earlier. They said that since I had not responded to their previous demands, the alleged fee had been raised. But I hadn't received any previous e-mails. They are threatening, make false demands based on phony facts and are not serious in any way, shape or form.

Falsk information. Varning!

Automized mass spam e-mails sent to potentially millions of people without any check on whether there's any substantial claim possible. They basically just bully anxious people into paying and leave those who ignore their scam letters alone after a couple of weeks.

I was contacted by Copyright Agent for allegedly using an image without a license on my non-commercial website (no ads, no affiliate links, no revenue). The image had been online only briefly. I did not "steal" it from Alamy — it most likely came from a free stock photo site and was used in good faith. Unfortunately, I couldn’t prove the source as the license may have changed - and do they really expect website owners to track daily whether the picture license has changed ownership? Their initial demand was 276 EUR. The first email contained not enough details — no filename, no image, just one of my URLs and a vague link to log into their platform. Only after request did I receive a dated screenshot and some basic info about the alleged copyright infringement. I replied factually and cooperatively, requesting clarification and a breakdown of the claim. I received none — just legal boilerplate like: “The duration of the unauthorized image use is not legally relevant.” Remember: This was applied to a short-term, good-faith, non-commercial case with no financial gain. Plus: The image in question costs 22€ license fee on the Alamy website... Payment was requested via a Lithuanian bank account, despite this dispute involving a Danish agency, a British image platform, and a German website. I requested PayPal — no reply. Eventually, I was offered a reduced amount of 200 EUR with a 7-day deadline, during which I offered a lower amount in return, repeating my arguments and my request for PayPal. The answer: “We will refer the case to our legal partner” and threats of “additional costs.” So I paid — just to end that email pingpong. I received a short confirmation of the payment and, rather ironically: “We thank you again for your cooperation.” What’s worse: this is all endorsed by Alamy, who state on their own website: “We have partnered with Copyright Agent to identify unauthorized image use online.” So they know exactly how this works. And if they don’t — they should. This process had little to do with fairness, transparency, or education or "Augenmaß", as we say in Germany. It felt like automated (AI generated?) enforcement designed to intimidate and extract payment — not to protect artists. I have never used Alamy and do not intend to ever use it - because of the way Copyright Agent handled my case (and probably countless other cases). What started as a copyright issue ended as a lesson in how not to build trust. UPDATE 04/22/2025: After I had paid 200 EUR and the case was closed, I discovered that I had a valid Adobe Stock license for the image in question at the time of use. Copyright Agent's / Alamy's claim was therefore 100% unjustified. I have submitted a refund request to Copyright Agent, including proof of the license. I will update this review depending on how they respond.

100% scam company falsely claiming to act on behalf of the copyright owner. They send multiple strongly worded emails threatening legal action if payment is not made. Do NOT respond ! 100% scam. Evenutally, they send a Offer of Settlement email proving claims are false. The copyright owner had no knowledge of Copyright Agent A/S or anyone acting on their behalf. Email name: Copyright Agent A/S - Denmark 1. NOTICE TO CEASE AND DESIST (Jan 9, 2025) 2. Escalation Notice (Feb 7, 2025) 3. Offer of Settlement (Feb 14, 2025) and nothing since

Scam company that sends hundreds of thousands mails for pictures without checking whether there's an actual copyright issue or not. Gullible people will be scared into believing it's a legit thing and the one or other actual fraudulent use of copyrighted photography might also be caught in this, but this might as well be a statistical error compared to the amount of junk mail they bombard people with. Edit due to the company's non-answer: there are many fraudulent companies with affiliations or "official listings", and this way of bullying gullible people into paying for non-existing copyright issues isn't new either. If I could, I would give this company and dear Kasper with his quite aggressive comebacks to reviews zero stars.

RESPONSE: Terrible points raised Casper, as I said, good luck with receiving even a penny from my company, the image you are hassling me for was used in 2015 on an article which was not in any way monetized. If you wish to see any money from this, we will see you in court, hope you take the time to make a personal appearance. OP: Complete scammers, they are hoping that you will just pay up to get them off your back. Good luck getting a single penny from my company mate, you will be devoting hours and hours of your time to end up with nothing. Delicious. Incoming reply will talk about the poor photographers that they claim to represent. I hope you realise nobody is buying it. I encourage everyone to 1 star review these dirty scammers as many times as possible and make it near impossible for their scam to work for anybody who is bothered to search them. "B-b-but look we are a legit Danish company, here's a link" - I have new scam companies sign up under Companies House with my address every month, being registered as a company does not mean you are not scamming people. Which you definitely are. Again, good luck receiving even a penny from me, and I hope anyone with sense looks up the mountains of 1 star reviews you have.

I received a random email last week. Totally out the blue stating they had sent me other email letters back in November 2024 and December 2024. I have never received any emails from this company, and find it very funny that the "final" demanding email i then actually "received". This email had stated I had copyrighted and used an Copyrighted image on my website by there client Visual Rights Group (which by the way was they past business name very confusing). I have had several demanding emails the past week, since then asking for different sums of money on different invoices and different payment deadlines. When I started to research more about the business and its background here in the UK I noticed several different business addresses also which I found really confusing. Different addresses on the invoices and on there signed off emails also on there range of websites links. Addresses from UK and from Holland??? I also checked the business out on gov.uk website and noted that since February 12th 2025 (this year) they have changed from Visual Rights Group LTD to Copyright Agent UK they was also called Permission Machine back in 2022 (seems they changed there business name every 3-4 years). Which seems very concerning now that they have updated there "new" business name, they are now sending demanding out emails to small business (which i feel they target the most by the looks of it. Thinking they be easy target to pay up). Don't fall for it guys do your research on this business. Please stop targeting small one person businesses its not funny and not nice at all. Your business protocols are very unprofessional and I have reported you to UK government scam company.

Received an email from copyright agent. This is most definitely a sophisticated scam intended to scare small business into paying them large sums of money! The reason I know this is because the so called ‘copyright” image they have referred to in my case is actually a legitimate image that has no association whatsoever with Newscorp and in fact was obtained through a partnership we have with another company which allows us to download, display and distribute the image they have found on our social. Edit post over 5 years ago . Their emails will be ignored and I have reported to the appropriate channels like scamwatch, ACCC and a cyber gov

Ren pengemaskine uden hold i virkeligheden.

Reading this and other articles I have to question whether paying CopyRight Agent was the right thing to do. Absolutely correct that we pay the person whose image we used in error and that they, directly or indirectly, engaged PA Media and CopyRight Agent to protect their rights, so we pay for that as well. But we paid £650 which I estimate to be a fine of 2066%. So when Kasper's sarcastic post on the 30/03/23 states they are not a "scam or fraud" it really comes down to how you interpret those words. I asked Jamie for a breakdown of the £650 to establish how much goes to the image owner and he refused to give it to me. So when Jamie takes about "photographers being fairly renumerated for their original work", Sam talks about "only attempting to protect the rights" and being "transparent" I guess this does not apply to their company. Interesting that they reply to 91% of negative ratings (with many fair points and a lot of really vague nonsense) but did not respond to "I am a copyright lawyer and my advice is.." on the 22/11/2022 which I would suggest is an important review. The more people who may use their services are aware of how they behave the better and that is a mission I am now willing to spend some of my time on.
