Good booking experience. Great destinations. However: You need an English tour manager on long-distance trips. Local guides often do not speak English well, do not understand us (particularly the over 60s) and can be arrogant. Secondly the 'whisper' walkie talkie should be used, as it gives the client flexibility and is better for people with a hearing problem.
knowledgeable staff, prompt response to queries
Fast, efficient and incredibly helpful. They were able to assist in putting together a tailor-made holiday of a lifetime and a fair price.
The agent dealing with our booking ,Galina, was very professional and efficient, dealt with our queries and responded promptly.Full marks!
Good friendly service and helpful advice
Great booking experience and have travelled before with the company to Chile which was a great trip. I am concerned, however, today to find that all credit card payment facilities have been suspended. I was trying to arrange final payment of my trip to Antarctica. The person in accounts did her best but could shed no light on the reason or if credit card payments will be available in the future. I hope all is well as it is a great company with an interesting selection of trips.
The company has been extremely attentive and helpful in designing a perfect holiday.
Having received a confirmation email for our holiday and paying in full over a week ago we have now been told that the flights are unavailable and it would appear nothing has actually been booked. I find Cox & Kings response astounding. When we paid for our holiday in full on 31st July we were told all “land services” were confirmed, Is it then too much to expect the flights to be booked on that day, or the very least, the next. Leah didn’t tell us until over a week later that she couldn’t get the flight out. To sort this problem we offered to add an extra day at the beginning of our holiday and to fly to a different airport to save all our other “confirmed” (or not) hotels being altered. We have just finalised our holiday (12th August) having found the flight ourselves, found a hotel for the extra night (obviously extra cost) ourselves and even this hotel we were first told C&K could not book as it was not on their agent’s list. They then came back and said they could book it after all! We feel we have spent so much time it would have been easier to have booked the holiday ourselves, we so wish we had. We were on the point of cancelling several times and it has took all excitement off going at the minute and we haven’t even ended up with our ideal holiday as now the evening return flight we were meant to be on is full so we now have to be up at the crack of dawn to get the morning flight losing our last day. Not how we planned to end the holiday. I just hope we find everything ok when we get to Italy, but I am afraid we have little confidence. So disappointed at the moment and wishing we had not gone through with booking With Cox&King. To say this is your policy is amazing. I can understand waiting to confirm hotels before booking “no frills” flights but once you took our money the hotels should have been confirm and we were told they were. You had our money for over a week before Leah obviously tried to book our flights, only then to find out she couldn’t.
Grand Tour of South America - too fast paced, early mornings, late arrivals, jet lag, altitude sickness, felt like a treadmill at times. Needs more days at leisure and more time to enjoy some of the hotels (not all are that good). Belmond Andean Explorer train was cancelled, major blow to our group, still waiting for some refund. Suggest you try Saga.
I do not believe anyone is perfect, hence only 4 stars. Very efficient and knowledeable - have travelled with them nefore and I am sure I will do again.
Ruchi was very patient with us and guided us very efficiently through the options to come up with what looks like a brilliant itinerary Well done Ruchi and many thanks we look forward to the trip with eager anticipation
Not helpful during our booking experience. The company had a pretty arrogant and patronising attitude. "We have been in business since 1758 and how dare you the customer question anything we tell you" was the impression they gave. Direct internet bookings are a key perfomance indicator and that's what they like. No customer interaction, just take the money and provide no real assistance or flexibility. Call them out on brochure inconsistencies and omissions and they are not interested. You will get customer appraisals to fill in but these probably go straight in the bin. You certainly wont get a response. Fantastic glossy brochures and appealing looking holidays but not matched by real service, which should be a given considering the high tour price tags.
Booking process was straight forward with enough information to make a decision on our preferred trip - now looking forward to the holiday in May 2020.
Tried to book a tour of Turkey. Follow up of enquiry and contact very poor
Excellent service provided by Agomoni our India Sales Consultant. Plenty of sound advice across all aspects of our tour through Southern India.
V.helpful and expert knowledge displayed
Always great value and a wide choice of destinations and experiences.
Ben was really good and very patient with us! We had specific requirements and it took us a long time to finally firm up dates and commit. I can't thank him enough for all his time. The information provided alongside the practical help given was second to none. So looking forwards to our trip.
very straight forward booking and great service from agent especially as we are booking from Ireland

Aug 31,2019So far I'm not impressed, despite recommendations from friends. I have done everything online but have received no formal documentation - other than a receipt for payments - to confirm what I've booked and absolutely nothing to help or advise with visas.
