You only care about money, you are only there when we have to pay for something but not when it’s an emergency and we really need support or help

Michaela is great. She has made our experience so far very good. We felt supported since day 1, feeling that we were in the right hands. Thanks so much for the support provided so far.

We absolutely loved the program the first time around and had our au pair for two years. We just signed up for another au pair and the matching specialist Drielly was so sweet and helpful.

The most important thing for me being here is to choose a good and communicative host family that make the au pair a confortable and a great year. Also to make au pairs feel part of the family. Be supportive with them. Here is difficult to meet new people and the homesick sometimes could be so hard since being far away from your family and friends it is not easy so try to make some activities that the au pair can feel like she is in her country (for example cook a meal of her country). One more thing is try to talk usually with her and ask her how is she feeling or how is she doing (be communicative). Establish a schedule that she can follow and in this way she can know when she has free time and also explain all of your rules to have a good environment in your house.

I have been very impressed by Cultural Care all around. The au pair profiles are very thorough. And our matching specialist, Luciana, went above and beyond to help us find a match. The local coordinators were also helpful and responsive.

The platform is good but I think that there are some improvements that can make the matching process smoother. 1) allowing host families to ask a limited number of questions to a prospect au pair prior to sending out a connection request (e.g. clarifying their arrival availability, openness to a family with kids outside of their preference range, or location preferences, how far along in the process they are with other families). 2) Allowing host family prospects to send connection requests to more than 3 candidates as it often takes days for au pairs to respond or longer. It would also be great if I could see the introduction messages sent along with each connection request to a au pair candidate so that I can reuse the same verbiage. Overall, I love the cultural care experience and the quality of the candidates has been good.

Very annoying sales people “matching specialists” who will annoy the heck out of you and make the matching process harder. Since they stalked me after posting this, here is what I texted them to be sure it was very clear why I left my review and received a defensive, deflective reply “ Hi Lxxxxx- I could chat tomorrow (Friday) but after I submitted my review I was able to see others reviews and saw that the experience I had was shared by others. I'm curious to understand what incentives are in place at Cultural Care for a "matching specialist" to think it's appropriate to send match requests to au pairs whose profile intended host families have simply "liked" or to send very unhelpful "threats" to start matching or have your profile disabled, or worse, to send match requests to au pairs who have not indicated they are comfortable with matching with a male-male couple when that was a critical criteria discussed out the gate as that is our family-- and then get awkward rejections from those au pairs. Awkward for all. Not helpful. High pressure without listening. Not sure we need to chat as we are matched and will continue working with our LCC from here on out, but for me, Cultural Care seems to be all about the money, and their product is au pairs, and what gets forgotten is the human aspect of this "transaction" real people, real lives that CCs numbers game seems to mask to the detriment of all.”

Matching specialist was not very helpful in helping me find a rematch au pair. She almost missed the Monday cut off to get the au pair here and wouldn’t have made the deadline if I wasn’t calling her consistently and reminding her of the importance of finalizing the match by Monday.

We have been in the program since 2018 and have matched with five au pairs in that time. Our matching specialist made the process very challenging compared to those we have worked with before. I am grateful that au pairs can only be in contact with three families at any given time, however Emily would connect au pairs with us that I was not interested in. I am happy to review au pairs in my 'likes' but to directly connect with an au pair on my behalf was frustrating. Emily did not know what type of au pair we were looking for and I would then need to disconnect with the au pair (which probably looked odd from the au pair's perspective). This became even more difficult at the end when we were about to match with and she continued to connect with au pairs.
