Cultural Care Au Pair is the largest au pair agency in the U.S., celebrating over 30 years matching au pairs with American families for a unique cultural exchange and childcare experience. Host families choose Cultural Care as their trusted source for flexible, reliable childcare that feels like part of the family. Au pairs benefit from the largest network of Local Childcare Consultants to support their cultural exchange experience. Families appreciate being able to schedule up to 45 hours per week and up to 10 hours per day of childcare when they need it.
Questions they ask the au pairs on their videos are not really helpful. Only having 3 connection requests really drags out the process given it might take a few days for each one to respond.
I like the new culture, the new people and that I’m feel more confidence with my self
As long as we don’t need much guidance or help, the service provides a decent matching platform. If something comes up that requires advice or hand holding, that’s where they begin to fall short
Lots of support whenever needed!
Easy to work with and professional.
We recently matched with an au pair through Cultural Care Au Pair and couldn't be happier with our experience! The matching process was smooth, and the support we received from the agency was top-notch. Our au pair is wonderful, blending seamlessly into our family and bringing so much joy and assistance into our home. Highly recommend to any family considering an au pair!
Tres bonne agence, nous sommes très bien suivi, presser de réaliser cette expérience !
We were a host family for years. While we had great experience the first 2 years, everything declined after that. We had a rotating door of LCCs that gave us advice that was contrary to advice published by Cultural Care in their blogs (and one time got in trouble for asking the au pair to dust the lighting fixture in her bathroom, which the LCC said was ok, then the company later said was not), au pairs that lied about substantial things during the interview process or while with us (said they drove daily when they had never actually driven a car before and didn't know the gas from the brake, said they didn't have a boyfriend when they'd actually been dating someone for 7 years, lied to us about where they took our kids during the day, damaged our car while driving and didn't tell us about it, put unauthorized transactions on our debit card), etc. The straw broke for us when our last au pair came out of her room, opened a warm beer, chugged it in 30 seconds in front of the kids and then left the house. After discussing our options with the agency, they decided to remove us from the program because the au pair wanted to move to a family that didn't recycle or compost and regularly took her to eat fast food. They only refunded half of our money and didn't require the au pair to provide childcare through the agreed upon date. We had a week to find childcare for our three young kids. Cultural Care never took responsibility for creating a terrible host family experience on a number of occasions. I'd go with another agency -- or do daycare or a nanny. The au pairs are just increasingly immature and entitled and ended up being such an emotional burden to have in the house.
The Company and my Host Family
I’m glad with my experience, but I’m not the biggest fan of my state..
I spent 2.5 months diligently trying to find an au pair. I attempted to connect with 45 au pairs, most of whom wouldn’t respond to my connection requests. For the ones who did, I interviewed most multiple times. When I finally found an au pair, I was a week past our match deadline and am being charged and extra $200 for a late final flight fee despite doing everything in my power to find an au pair in time. When I told my matching specialist this, I was encouraged to start looking earlier next time. Why wasn’t my matching specialist trying to help me find someone on time? This is our third time hosting and the first two times went smoothly. Our LCC has also been extremely helpful with our matching process this time. For those reasons, I’m giving Cultural Care two stars and not one. But to be honest, they charge a lot for little help connecting with a good au pair.
I appreciate the support that my family receives during the matching process from the LCC and matching specialist. It has always been clearly communicated. They are always available/accessible and make personal calls to check on us and offer support. The only criticism I have is regarding the website. There should be an app for the au pair search process and email/app notifications for au pairs that do not choose to connect. Very annoying to constantly check the web portal. Would also be nice to know when au pairs have been newly added to the search list.
Helpful and communicative!
It’s being a amazing experience, I made a lot of friends, I have a great relationship with my host family and I love my host kids!
Easy process.
good follow up
We've had a great experience with Cultural Care Au Pair. They do an excellent job interviewing and preparing au pairs, and helping host families find the perfect au pair for their needs. Our au pair became an integral part of our family and we love her.
Expert guidance and easy to use online system.
Very on top of the process. It was great!
