READ REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY FROM THIS COMPANY: Like many others, I ordered a bike through Cycle to Work scheme via Cycle Republic. The bike was showing in stock but I have been waiting for 3 weeks and nothing. No replies, no updates, nothing. It seems they are taking orders that they can't fulfil and the ignoring anyone who complains.
Pretty much what other people are saying on here, ordered a bike 28th April, advised delivery would be between 10-12 days. No confirmation emails, no advice on delivery, nothing. Have now sent 4 emails asking about this, with zero response . Terrible customer service
Bike arrived in a box that was barely held together. The box was massive for a child's bike and the bike has no doubt been rattling around in there during transit, thankfully no damage that I can see. The box was clearly marked 'this way up' but the bike was upside down in it. Nowhere near as well packaged as shown in their YouTube videos. Front wheel wasn't tightened at all which meant it wobbled from side to side. One tightened the disc brakes were scraping against the disc. Really disappointing as there is a pre delivery checklist in there where someone has ticked to say these things were checked. Instructions on the brake system are a photocopied sheet which is more a technical document explaining installation. Had to resort to several YouTube videos and took me ages to get right. Reflectors not properly attached and rear one seems to be wrong size to attach to seat stem and is impossible to tighten enough to grip firmly. I was taken in by their videos and how wish I'd read reviews and gone elsewhere. I'm not mechanically minded and wanted a virtually fully assembled bike where everything had been fitted and checked by a trained bicycle technician, sadly doesn't appear to be the case.
Bought bike in March. Took a couple of weeks to arrive, excusable to some degree due to Covid, however box was falling apart so much that the courier struggled to get it out of the van as the bike was coming out of the box. He remarked that they always come like this. Build quality was poor, I took to a local independent cycle shop for some accessories and they picked up errors in how the bike had been assembled and kindly put right for me. Today a screw has spontaneously fallen off. When I figured out where it had come from it turned out not to be anything dangerous but makes me wonder about the other fixings that are structurally critical.
Im not in the habit of leaving negative reviews, especially during these uncertain times but I have to say that this company is driving me up the wall and kicking myself for not reading reviews beforehand. Much the same as most of the reviews below, I placed order on 18 Apr 20, for my Sons birthday allowing for 10-12 working days delivery (updated due to COVID). Its now 17 working days and not received anything, any messages, delivery notes or indeed responses to recent email or webchat. (once 12 days was up). Spoke to Halfords (parent company) twice who have tried contacting them and heard nothing as a result but they don't seem to be able to do much either. Now raised a section 75 dispute / charge back via bank as I feel like I'm being ignored. The money left my account on 20 Apr 20, which was the Monday after order placement. Personally, if I'd known the shops were in the process of being closed I would never have ordered online from them. I would advise anyone to avoid completely, do not buy a water bottle from this company, let alone a bike worth, hundreds, thousands of £. Do yourself and health a favour and avoid completely. **update** 12 May 20 Had an email response, to say they cannot find my order as they don't recognise the order number and asked for my address. Also said to call them if needed and hope that helps? The phone number given goes to an automated message response about shops being closed. They also said that they are extremely busy with an influx of online orders and that they are advising 15 working days to complete orders. They had my number so could have called rather than sent an email. I sent them the original order receipt I had with everything else needed. Awaiting a further response which I suspect will take a while so letting the bank dispute continue. I'm not gonna blame anyone personally but God knows what systems they are using to take orders? **update 14 May 20** Spoke with Halfords on the phone this morning after still not receiving any further comms from Cycle Republic to be informed that they indeed cannot see any order in my name, address or order confirmation / notice supplied. I did have some good news from my bank who have promptly dealt with the dispute section 75 charge back and refunded my money. Not sure if they got hold of Cycle Republic at all but money is in the bank and now purchased a bike elsewhere for my son. Highly recommend contacting your bank if concerned about late or refund issues. I would be amazed if these are still trading in a few months, which is sad for the individual workers but this business practice is not sustainable. Thankfully, this chapter is done for me, good luck all
Ordered my bike on the 26th of april confirmation email said 10-15 working days for delivery and it still hasn't arrived and I've had no dispatch email or anything tried calling cycle republic only for them to say all stores are closed by an electronic voice assistant disgracefull I'm not sure wether to cancel and get my money back
Disappointing on all levels. We started trying to contact Cycle Republic 12 working days after ordering which should have been our delivery day. We had no response for days and even contacted our bank to see if we could claim our money back. They finally emailed a week or so later apologising for the delay and saying the bike would be delivered soon (lovely email but 3 weeks too late!) It has now arrived (hooray!!) sadly the build quality is poor and I had odd pedals!! In short, I'm delighted it is here and I haven't lost my money but disappointed with the service. I would have been easily pleased with a short, generic email early on to explain that the bike would be late.
No Bot here, no employee, previous employee and not in anyway connected to Halfords or Cycle republic. Just reading the reviews I though I'd give my 2 cents. Ordered 2 e bikes last monday via he website for a grand total of £2,300 ish. Had a email to confirm dispatch on the following Friday but it was at 2am? I started to worry so I went online and found these reviews, I then started to really worry. No updates on tracking yesterday (11/05) which was 7 days or 5 working days later. Then low and behold I see a update on the Parcelforce website at 6pm to say it had been sorted at the national hub, panic over to some degree. Wake up today (12/05) to a text to say my bikes are being delivered today. Just checked the tracking and they're round the corner. I will update this review once I reviewed the bikes and condition of them however I just felt a bit of positivity is needed on this review page as they do get it right. I do believe some people exaggerate there experiences some what but that's my humble opinion on that. Anyway 5star out of 5star so far from me, delivery within 6 working days from order. No complaints with that especially during this pandemic. Joe - New forest. ****Edit***** Only 1 bike arrived in the delivery (I was told there was a delay with the other bike), first bike has arrived with damage, spoke to Halfords who put me through to CR who actually gave me a phone number to call! Anyway long story short, 2nd bike arriving today (again will update if damaged etc) and my complaint about damages is currently being reviewed.
Can’t give no stars! Not even worth that! Since ordering I have heard nothing! I have been emailing to find out when my bike is coming as it should have been with me over a week ago! I have now asked for a refund but don’t expect an answer to that either! Terrible customer service stay well away! Wish I had read these reviews before ordering, but thought as it was owned by Halfords it was going to be fine!!
Poor response to my complaint - faulty paint on my brand new bike. Even allowing for Covid 19, CW took over 2 weeks to respond my complaint. It didn't take anything like that long to accept my order for £800!! The response I eventually got was dismissive & only restated the cause of the problem that I'd already raised myself. I then got second response from someone more senior that was just as dismissive. In summary - good pricing & prompt delivery of my order let down by very poor after sales service. They don't seem to care about their customers enough.
Bad bad bad....... I ordered the bike on 14th of April the said on confirmation order it does it take 10-14 working days .... and I haven’t received yet ..no answer.no reply emails I will take them to court..awful company
Item missing from my order. They completely ignoring messages and do not answering phone. ..
Absolute shambles, I bought a £2000 bike and was told to wait 5 - 10 working days, 8 days later I get an email saying out of stock tough luck, we will send you your money back, nothing, no different bike, when new stock would arrive nothing, and they are still selling the same bike online!!!! STAY AWAY AVOID
I ordered a bike from Cycle Republic and for personal reasons decided I needed to cancel. I immediately tried to reach out to them via phone, email AND employees on LinkedIn! Not a word from them and no refund in sight. I've since created a group on Facebook called "Cycle Republic UK Unhappy Customers" I strongly advise everyone joins so we can take action together. On our own, they simply choose to ignore us which is totally unacceptable.
I am absolutely mortified with the service I have received from cycle republic. I am completely understanding of the COVID situation, but there are things that are important to get in contact with customers about, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'VE BEEN WAITING 3 WEEKS FOR A BIKE THAT IS NEVER COMING! This is not fair. When you’ve paid a lot of money for a bike you want for training, being told 3 weeks after purchasing and receiving a confirmation email, that the bike was actually discontinued and isn’t coming, you need to respond sooner. Also taking the phone number off the website and not responding to emails or tweets, is unacceptable. I know it is a busy time but you can’t run your business without customer service, especially if things like this are occurring. I will never order from cycle republic again, even if my life depended on it.
Packaging could have been better but all 3 bikes arrived in time with no damage.
I placed my order on 25 April 2020 for 2 x Carrera bikes (1 x Ladies & 1 x Gents) and paid via PayPal. I got confirmation via email of the order the same day and a few days later another email with a tracking number (DPD or Parcelforce were identified as the courier). Having entered the tracking number into both couriers ~ it was not recognised. I then read the reviews and to say that I was very concerned is an understatement. Having waited the 10-day delivery period and repeated emails to Cycle Republic ~ no response. I then read that Carrera bikes were Halfords brand. I then contacted Halfords by online chat and I eventually got Lee who provided the correct Parcelforce tracking number. I was then able to track the shipment.... However, it was received at the Glasgow depot on 5 May 2020 and status: Parcel received at Depot / Parcel Damaged. I then got onto Parcelforce via phone and they were extremely helpful advising that it was the outer carton that was damaged and there was no visible damage to the bikes. They called me on Thursday 7 May 2020 and advised they would deliver on Saturday. Low and behold, they were delivered this morning (Saturday) 1 x bike (ladies) was minus a pedal. Thankfully, I have an old bike in the shed that I was able to fit onto the new bike (temporarily) and I'll either get a replacement shipped from Halfords or I'll get another pair from Amazon at £8.99 rather than going thro' the hassle as experienced above.
I've cancelled my order the same day (2nd of May) and next day I received confirmation that order has been cancelled and I won't be charged as it was pre-authorization on my credit card. Today big surprise - email saying "order has been dispatched" and I was charged. Talked to Halfords team just now and they apologize for that telling me that I have to wait for courier and refuse delivery. They told me that they see that cancellation is requested correctly but apparently Cycle Republic team didn't process it. Terrible company. Not sure how they system work but apparently they don't have any type of communication between them. Hope I will get my refund once parcel is send back to them. At least Halfords team try to be helpful as much as they can. EDIT 28th MAY I refuse delivery 13th of May, Parcelforce delivered the bike back to Halfords 21st of May. Today I get email from Cycle Republic with my refund recipe and I can see it on my card.
100% honest review the service I have had from cycle republic had been terrible.i have been passed from pillar to post and I’m so angry with what’s happend as I have been waiting 4 months for a bike to get delivers they said it was in store went to pick it up and shop was closed when they told me To pick it up then contacted customer service no reply’s then they said they would email me after I was on phone for 3 hours still no email that was 2 week back still no confirmation of where my bike order is they said also they will send out a new bike which they never did.

May 13,2020I would give a 0 if it was an option. Bought a Pressure Washer which arrived boxed and as I unpacked it, water began to spill from the tank as well as clear signs of prior use and kinks along the cables. I am now also unable to get hold of anyone from their useless team and my only way to get the message across is via email which no response was provided and COVID 19 is used as an excuse for an even worse service level (not that they know what that is by the looks of it)
