The service when a faulty item was delivered
Ordered a sofa bed and estimated delivery was on or before 28 February. On 10 February I received a text to inform me my sofa was being delivered the next day. This text tells you that if you are NOT available to receive the delivery, you need to call them within less than 2 hours. If you fail to call them and don’t take delivery, you are subjected to a MINIMUM £30 penalty charge. I work full time and spend a lot of time in meetings without my phone, so unfortunately I didn’t see the text within the allocated time. What I did receive was a follow up text to say the delivery had been confirmed. I did not confirm it. I was attending a chemo appointment with someone the following day and had booked time off work to attend, so was not going to be home. I called customer services and was met with indifference. I told them I wouldn’t be home but they said their policy was to charge and there was nothing they could do other than offer to leave it on my doorstep. They didn’t even inform the delivery company because they attempted to call me the following morning when presumably, they turned up at my house. I’ve since been sent an invoice for the penalty charge and I assume won’t receive my sofa until I pay it. I have appealed the charge but was told once again rules are rules and they won’t budge. Ultimately, you are penalised for not checking your text messages within a two hour window. If you have a job that means you can’t access your phone during work hours - doctors, nurses, teachers, factory workers etc - then expect to be charged for doing nothing at all. It’s not a sound process, confirmation should be sought to confirm delivery and then I accept a penalty payment if I am not home. This is impractical and in my view, a complete scam. I have reported to Trading Standards. I’d definitely avoid. Edit: refund has been arranged for goods but not for the missed delivery fee. I find it highly suspicious that so many reviews are being shared based on delivery since my review, particularly those who name the delivery drivers. Not sure in what world that happens. It does make me feel a lot of these reviews are not legitimate, although mine was checked and then a different response reposted in an attempt, I believe, to appear to have resolved the issue. If you look on other review sites, you’ll see countless complaints about delivery
Didn’t mention that I will need to assemble everything myself and didn’t find an option of offering handyman when I checked out

Fast problem solving and reply
My first order wasn’t quite right, and I managed to get support so easily via email and over the phone, where I was able to start an exchange process and coordinate the swap at a time that worked for me. On the delivery day, I received email updates to give me a time window for the delivery, and a call to provide me an accurate delivery time ten minutes before. Fiz and Jay were quick and efficient, and very polite. Very happy with my new chair! Thanks Daals.

Delivery drivers (Craig & Jamie) were great - took the bed to the bedroom I wanted it. Bed looks really good quality - only issue was that 4 washers were missing. Recommended.
second purchase with DAALS originally I was sceptical because of the price, I thought it might be like a Temu but it’s not! The quality was fab and the delivery windows are really good so you are able to be home.
Once the delivery team arrived at my apartment, they informed me that they were not insured to carry the couch up my stairs, leaving me no choice but to turn them away. Only after this did I discover that their policy of not delivering upstairs is buried within their website and not clearly stated at checkout. What kind of furniture company doesn’t deliver upstairs? If this is their policy, it should be made explicitly clear during the checkout process. To make matters worse, customer service was incredibly rude and unhelpful, and deducted £73 from my refund for the “failed delivery”, along with the £65 I had paid for expedited shipping.

Eric and Scott delivered our furniture to our home in Broadstairs, and they went above and beyond. Not only did they ensure everything arrived in perfect condition, but they also kindly delivered it straight to the bedroom where it was needed. Both were incredibly polite, professional, and helpful—an absolute credit to Daals! It's refreshing to receive such high-quality service, and I wouldn’t hesitate to order from them again. Highly recommended!
