I have used Driveaway for an overseas hire and found them to be fantastic when we had ot cancel due to Covid19. This is my first domestic hire and once again found them to be very competitive and helpful.
I love Driveaway Holidays! Always easy to navigate the website, car descriptions are helpful, especially luggage symbols. Like being able to make my reservation online, even 48hours out. After many years of using Driveaway I trust the pricing enough I don't bother shopping around anymore. Being able to pay the excess reduction insurance, gives me peace of mind and half the cost of all the extra insurances you get slugged with on collection of your vehicle. Being able to prepay and present a voucher is so simple and hassle free when you go to pick up your car. Thank you Driveaway <3
Karen in reservations, and others in the team have been so helpful in making the initial booking. On top of that, their assistance and kind understanding due to the problems with COVID19 causing a need to adjust, then cancel the booking have really impressed me. Booking process was straightforward. Price was good. We needed to decrease our length of booking by a week. I emailed the team they responded quickly and the change was made effortlessly with a refund on the way. Excellent service.
Booking system seems to work ok. Remains to be seen what the full experience is like.

We hired a car from Fiumicino airport in Rome for a week to drive down to the South of Italy. Giordano at the Avis desk was fantastic and made sure we had the needed snow chains etc. The car was great and only had 6000km's on the clock. The rate from Driveaway was far cheaper than anywhere else I checked. The car return was easy and quick and the guys there gave me a better petrol rate than at the service stations on the autostrada.
We booked a car with insurance through DriveAway and fully prepaid our car rental prior to our UK trip. The car was to be returned to London by 9.00 am on a Monday. We referred to the DriveAway voucher which informed us that the returns office would be open until 5.00 pm Sunday afternoon.This was a less stressful option for us. My husband and I were travelling with our 80 & 87 year old mothers. We left Liverpool for the 4 hour drive to London, cancelling a pre planned lunch with friends in Manchester, so as to arrive in London before closing time. We dropped our Mothers with all the luggage at our Hotel in Hyde Park then navigated to Russell Square to return the car. We arrived at 3.30 pm. Well before the closing time as indicated on the DriveAway document. It was CLOSED. DriveWay's document was incorrect. DriveAway had not updated their document. I have spoken with the DriveAway's customer service about this issue and am dissatisfied with DriveAway's response. Reply to Driveaway's response to this review. Dear Miriam Yes, I did contact Driveaway's customer service and received an email a number of weeks later. Within the email there was no direct apology, no admittance of any wrongdoing nor empathy for the situation caused by Driveaway issuing an out of date voucher. There was however an offer for $30 with no explanation to what this represents. I have not accessed this compensation as it is disrespectful to the trauma caused.

Great service, the staff are lovely and quick to respond. It was a fast process to pick up the car and the car was great for what we needed.

I find the website very easy to navigate and the consultants very knowledgeable. Have dealt with Drive Away Holidays a number of times and have never had any trouble. The rental prices are competitive and there is always a good choice of vehicles to choose from.
