Size was totally messed up. I purchased 9, which is my usual size, but I have never seen such a big size 9. The chat bot is totally useless.
So disappointed with my Giesswein slippers, i was so pleased with them until 7wks after i brought them my toes hav worn through. The soles are so well made with no sign of wear. However not much good as the tops have worn through. Wish i had read the reviews before my purchase.
Didn't last 1 season. These slippers are comfortable and I was in love when I first got them. However, they formed a major hole in the toe area after 5 months :( Pretty disappointed in the durability of these, my toe shouldn't be able to poke through the wool after this short of time!
Expensive and do not last as long as a pair of £20 high street slippers. I'm on my third pair of Giesswein slippers (yes I know) - the first pair lasted one winter (three months) before I realised the rubber on the soles had practically disappeared and the stuff that was left was strangely sticky. I found another pair that were on offer so replaced the first pair with the same - these have the thin, almost non-existent rubber sole which is on quite a few of the models of slippers. They lasted a few weeks before the rubber had come off the heel area, worn indoors only and one of the toes had a hole (the sizing was correct, the first pair did not go through at the toe). So I bought a pair of 'Veitsch' because they had a better sole. They were very expensive, and came with a 'support' insole which I didn't want, and was incredibly hard and uncomfortable - it actually made my feet hurt after couple of laps of the house to test them. I realised the insole came out, they are also available in their shop for £18 a pair. So I asked Giesswein to exchange the unwanted and unneeded 'support' insole for a pair of their normal wool insoles, also £18 in their shop. They refused, their customer services were abrupt and adamant they would not exchange them and I would have to spend another £18 (so £81 in total for a wearable pair of slippers) to get the wool insoles. So that's £81 for a pair of slippers which might last a few weeks. Obviously I've learnt my lesson now, Giesswein are not interested in repeat customers.
I bought my MERINO WOOL KNIT MEN shoes on 12/05/2021 and have worn them since regularly, so I guess I've gathered enough information to write this review. The main reason I bought these quite expensive shoes, was that I hoped they will help alleviate my sweaty feet issue. Unfortunately, this is not the case, which is disappointing considering these shoes' price and merino wool promise. I had to wash them 3 times in the last two months already. Conclusion - 3 stars cause the quality of the shoe is high, and they are actually comfy to wear, however, temperature regulation, specifically in hot weather, is quite disappointing. EDIT - The customer service is outstanding and took care of my issue in a very satisfactory manner. I may have not been happy with the shoes but I have to say that customer service is top-notch!
I bought Geisswein slippers about six months ago, both slippers have developed holes one hole in the toe area and the other shoes has a hole in the side where the wool has worn. The back of one slipper has also flattened. I have tried to communicate with the Geisswein bot, but it is useless. I’m am disappointed with the poor quality of the slippers and the very poor customer service.I expected better. I wanted to give one star but I am unable to change it.
I have 2 products from Giesswein, Runners and Sneakers, the Runners are nice to wear, comfy, though I usually wear size 44, here I had to order 43, as 44 were WAY too large. I have the color "anthracite" and it looks a little as if they were dirty of dust (although they are clean, it's the material coating), but that was my choice. The Wool Sneakers are not so good. They scratch & hurt my heels, the inside around the laces is very narrow and pushes against top of the foot unevenly. Thinking about returning these, the quality is lacking in the sneakers imo.
Love the Merino Wool Sneakers & the Vent Slippers are also nice, but wish they had half sizes since they are slightly large. This is more of an issue with the slippers since they are wide (on my narrow feet) and they don't tighten up despite the little doohickey on top. The sneakers tighten up nicely. Also wish the slippers had a wool footbed like the Merino Wool sneakers, it's so much nicer. I wear my slippers with bare feet (even if it was cold enough for socks with them, the wool footbed would be nice) so 4 stars not 5 for no half size and no wool footbed. I've also worn the Merino wool slippers indoors all winter and love them - if I had it to do over again, would just have gotten the sneakers instead of the slippers which have gotten annoyingly larger over time. Being a size 5, I could not go down in size. Now that it's summer I'll try the sneakers outdoors since I chose a pretty light blue. Will see how they hold up and clean up. Indoors the past 5-6 months they've held up, no need to try washing yet. I wear Merino Wool hiking socks all summer so I'm sure the wool sneakers will be comfy even on hot days. Love the feel of them on my feet. I wear a size 5 so also tried the kids (size 4 - 35 Euro) but they ran too small. Free return shipping was great. The adult sneakers are much nicer anyway. Pricey but worth it if they last outdoors. Great choice of colors.
In Swedish we say löv for leaf! I really LÖV this shoe! Got the Wood Sneaker today and it fitted so well and was so comfortable and good support for my flatfoot feet! Good all day shoe and I realised that I can walk long and run with it too. One of the companies I will continue buy good and sustainable shoes from!
I just received my shoes and so far so good - really stylish and super comfy. I just wanted to warn people who are at a half size to definitely go down, not up. I wear a 38.5 and the 39s I originally ordered felt like clown shoes lol! I was really swimming in them and had to exchange. The 38s are perfect, even a tiny bit roomy but I'm not wearing socks. I will write a more detailed review once I've had a chance to really test them.
Firstly the slippers are great, nice quality. The reason for the low score is that I bought them for the sustainable ethics, however I was appalled to find that they sent them to me via AIR with fedex.
Wool Sneakers are very light and comfortable, but the quality just isn't there to match the high price. After two months of wear the wool mesh has formed a number of holes, and an email to Giesswein support has gone unanswered. Unfortunately this will be my one and only order due to the quality issue.
Online order, timeline and ship receivement - all working as expected. I love the detailed instruction on how to clean and treat my new shoes. They fit perfectly fine and meet my expectations from the website picture. It was the second time I ordered at Giesswein and can absolutely recommend their products.
Quick and perfect experience. In 3 days i got my product.
Very smooth & constumfriendly in both ordering, delivering, returning & reordering - and most of all wonderfull wool slippers:-)
The shoes look really nice but are slightly big. They don't do half sizes, which is a shame. If they were half a size smaller, they would be perfect. Otherwise very comfortable and stylish looking
Excellent quality and durability compared to the other slippers I’ve tried. I’ll equip the all family !
7 Stars service and attitude! Most highly recomended!
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Oct 19,2021I was given my Giesswein Tegernau slippers for Christmas. I absolutely LOVED them for the first few months. Then I noticed bald spots appearing on the sole. Now, 10 months in and there's more backing showing through than the rubber sole. I appreciate wear is expected but for the price, I'd expect them to last a little bit longer?
