About us The Federation of Master Builders is the largest trade association for the UK construction industry and a not-for-profit organisation that is run by members for members.
Our mission We support small and medium-sized construction companies to grow and manage their business by providing a wide range of support services such as contract templates, unlimited expert advice, online training, and access to a community of fellow professional builders.
Our members must pass an independent inspection and strict vetting process before they join the FMB to ensure they meet the high standards expected of a Master Builder company.
We also connect clients with professional, local builders they can trust through our free Find a Builder service. Our series of ultimate guides for home renovation projects helps clients to understand what to expect during a building project.

They are a complete disgrace and clearly do NOT vet all their clients as they claim and they do NOT check their standard of works to ensure compliance. JUST ANOTHER MONEY GRABBING OUT OF THEMSELF ENITITY

Oct 05,2021recently had to have an inspection of work,due to these strange times this was done virtually.all arrangements where done through main offices and a mutual time was agreed.waited for call,but no-one phoned.phoned offices an hour later and a very apologetic lady rearranged for 3 days later (there was a small mix up) waited for call on site and Brendon phoned,after a chat about what works where being carried out,a walk through was done using smart phone.A few photos taken so Brendon could study in more detail at his lesuire and job done,very efficient and simple

Sep 21,2021An apparently misleading and untrustworthy organisation altogether lacking in integrity: they fail in their promises to take action supporting victims of their often unmasterful builders. I was cheated to the tune of well over £120,000 by one woman builder masquerading as a member of theirs. They promised to take action against her but did nothing. On the basis of a thoroughly bogus contract she took all of the money due by completion and ran off after some four months having finished less than half the job. Do not believe these are master builders: anyone can join by paying the fees. This seems to me like a scam organisation. The builder in question did not use the FMB logo on HER contract; she utilised the FMB contract itself which should have been illegal. FMB appears to only encourage such duplicity. The response to my complaint is an absolute fudge, clear evidence of the untrustworthiness and lack of integrity of this FMB organisation.
