About us The Federation of Master Builders is the largest trade association for the UK construction industry and a not-for-profit organisation that is run by members for members.
Our mission We support small and medium-sized construction companies to grow and manage their business by providing a wide range of support services such as contract templates, unlimited expert advice, online training, and access to a community of fellow professional builders.
Our members must pass an independent inspection and strict vetting process before they join the FMB to ensure they meet the high standards expected of a Master Builder company.
We also connect clients with professional, local builders they can trust through our free Find a Builder service. Our series of ultimate guides for home renovation projects helps clients to understand what to expect during a building project.

Feb 13,2024After 11 years of membership with the Federation of Master Builders (FMB), I never imagined I'd be writing a review like this. My experience with FMB took a drastic turn when Dawn, a representative, accused my company of unauthorized logo usage and threatened legal action. Despite being a fully authorized member until 2022, Dawn's accusations and insinuations of deliberate wrongdoing were not only baseless but also borderline defamatory. Concerning Facebook posts from 2017 over 7 years old when I was a fully fledged member. It's disheartening to see a company resort to such unscrupulous methods to tarnish a long-standing member's reputation. To any current or new members considering joining FMB, please heed this warning: be cautious of the tactics this company may employ. It's like dealing with an old girlfriend you just can't shake off – except this time, it's your business on the line. Dawn's handling of the situation, coupled with the threat of featuring our company on their website to defame us, is unacceptable. Proceed with caution, and be prepared to defend your company against unjust accusations and blackmail attempts. 1 star – Not recommended.

They always make sure the liability insurance is filed on time and keep us informed on any training courses or jobs available for our trade. We have been members of this reliable and well respected organization for many many years.
