The app is VERY misleading. The ONLY reason I purchased the app was to get my dogs meds because I didn’t want to have to go in because of COVID. You don’t find out you can’t get meds until after the purchase. I didn’t use the service and immediately canceled and deleted the app and they still charged me and of course there is no customer service number you can call. Why would anyone purchase a service where they literally can’t do ANYTHING but talk to you and tell you to go see a real vet?? I’ve emailed them about a refund and will update the review once I figure that out. They will probably try to screw me out of that too. Very shady.
Not impressed by the service - I had issue to connect to the app. I tried to login in caue the app unloging me. I received the text 5 mins after asking for it - the code expired after 5 mins. Then, I tried on my computer, issue too. I tried again on the app. . 5 min later, I received the text, it works. Finally, I got on video with the vet. First sentence from the vet, " I have only 3 mins because you are late" - WOW, exactly what I want to hear when I'm worried about my dog crying cause he has something in his ear. 3 mins later she didn't ask any question and the call ends. Not going to use this app again. And to justify their incompetency, they will blame the customer for being stressed and annoyed by a vet who doesn't ask anything about the dog and worried about her next appointment. At the end of the call, I swear yes cause I wasted my time thinking I could get help from the app and I was in distress for my dog.
I have just used this service for the first time (it came with my pet insurance which I took out a couple of days ago). The First Vet service was fantastic. I got an appointment within half an hour, the vet was very personable and clear and prompt. Love the written post consultation report with tips on product to use to help my little dog.

De har inget intresse i annat än pengar precis som majoriteten veterinärer iofs... och man kallar det ”för djurets bästa” så att du som djurägare ska må extra dåligt över ditt älskade djur. Man kallar det också för ”att man har djuret i sitt intresse” vilket är ytterligare skitsnack och ett sätt att få dig som djurägare att inte ifrågasätta, för du vill väl ditt djurs bästa? Firtsvet drar folk över en kam och skyr inte att anta att du plågar ditt djur, istället för att anta att de flesta tar ansvar och söker hjälp för minsta lilla som händer deras familjemedlem. Mina djur har har i slutändan utsatts för onödigt lidande av veterinärers ”tro” ”tyckande” och missbedömningar! Men det va ju ”skönt” att veta efter alla extremdyra ingrepp och undersökningar att det inte va någon fara... Jag har utsatts för förnedring och kränkningar när jag ifrågasatt och Tillomed blivit hotad att bli anmäld för djurplågeri. Efter min kontakt med FirstVet har de i efterhand bett om ursäkt för hur jag behandlades, deras förklaring var att de på senaste tiden ”sett många fall av djurplågeri”. Detta rättfärdigar inte på något sätt att man utan grund antar att de som söker hjälp och råd i första hand ska misstänkliggöras. Mina djur mår idag bra och det är inte tack vare ”hjälpen” av FirstVet eller min före detta klinik! Utan riktig vård från en kompetent veterinär som inte behövde gissa, tro eller gjorde en antagande vansinnig bedömning! Och med ett riktigt intresse för att hjälpa djuren och mig! Jag har oerhört svårt att se nyttan med FirstVet som tjänst mer än att den spelar på människors oro, vilket de tjänar pengar på. Du kan googla svaret på det mesta och är ditt djur dåligt så åk in till en BRA veterinär! Och ett tips och tecken på en bra veterinär är hen frågar INTE hur mycket din försäkring täcker som första fråga när du kliver över tröskeln! För att kunna avgöra hur mycket undersökande uppskärande av ditt djur de kan göra!
Helt värdelöst, 590 kronor totalt bortkastade pengar. Fick prata i 5 minuter med någon totalt inkompetent tjej någonstans utomlands som sa att vår hund skall vila eftersom han har skadat sig. Det står tydligt i reklamen att de skriver ut recept men det visste inte den här tanten något om, fick inga smärtstillande till hunden som lider. De har nog köpt alla de bra recensioner som finns.
Så tråkigt att det inte stå tydligt att ni inte förskriver recept. Det stå super vagt att ni vanligtvis inte gör det och det tolkar man så klart att när det handlar om specifika sjukdomar eller allvarliga problem. Min hund har sträckt och skadat sig på promenaden och jag förstår själv att han ska vila men då han hade ont o haltade o vår veterinär inte hade tid o ta emot så ville vi ha smärtstillande förskrivet så att han skulle kunna återhämta sig med vila dock utan att lida. Nope- det förskrivs inte heller... var svaret. Funkar för människor där digiläkarna förskriver antibiotika men inte lite smärtstillande tull hund. Aldrig igen. Pengar i sjön. Undrar varför jag skulle behöva annars ringa till en veterinär online. Jag känner ju min hund bäst och vid akuta tillstånd åker jag till Djursjukhuset.
This app is not helpful if you want to treat your pet. First thing is that you cannot get any medication prescribed to your pet. So is just a way of ripping you off . They don’t event have a phone number for you to call and cancel you appointment . If you need medical help take your pet to a vet . This is a rip-off.
We used FirstVet several times when we first brought our puppy home. All the vets we spoke to were friendly, calm, and professional and on one occasion referred us to our local vet for an in-person check up. I would highly recommend their services (note: their service is included with out pet insurance).
Excellent vet service. Fionnuala Coyle was professional and thorough. Great post-consultation report, too, which included a reminder of what to do and observe. My only gripe is that the app only allows you to upload images, not video, which is at odds with a video service, especially when something like a paroxysmal cough can't be captured as an image. I was, however, given an email address to send my video to, which I did, after the call.
Mila was wonderful. She reassured me that my pup was okay and didn’t make me feel stupid for worrying about his eyes. She was very knowledgeable, gave me advise on what to do if the situation changes and was so lovely. Was right on time and was very attentive ☺️ Will definitely be using the service again. Thank you!
This video call service is fantastic. We have a little pup who is only 10 weeks old. Last night she started feeling unwell, was wretching and making what sounded like a constant sneezing sound. With her being a toy breed and so baby I arranged a video call with the vet. This service is free through my insurance with Waggle. I got an appointment for 4am (15 minutes after signing up) and spoke with someone called Emma. She was fantastic. So knowledgable. So reassuring and the follow up notes and clear instructions were all part of their fantastic service. I was no rushed. Everything was explained in full depth and what stages should happen next. Luckily our pup has woken up fine :) cannot thank FirstVet enough :)
We have access to First Vet via our pet insurance through Bought By Many, and used it for the first time today. I have to say that I am extremely impressed. I was lucky enough to speak to Dr Immacolata Sgulo who was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and made me feel confident that she had my pet's best interests as her main focus. She provided what I believe to be excellent advice and confirmed this in an email which arrived promptly. She also confirmed that I could arrange a follow-up appointment with her should I have any further questions or concerns. All in all a great service worthy of 5 stars and Dr Sgulo is a great ambassador for the service.

Needed to use the app for first time for our 9 month old pup as she was being sick and wanted some advice instead of going to a vet practice. Booked first appointment and got confirmation text, waited with phone open and no consultant attended. Made a 2nd appointment and got confirmation text again with a different consultant and yet again nobody attended the appointment. Have now visited a local vet and paid for short consultation instead. This service might be good if the appointments were attended to but I had no such luck and therefore 1 star (should be 0 stars) from my experience.
Excellent service, I spoke with a kind, knowledgable, and experienced vet. Follow up with an email including all the important points. Rebecca gave an excellent service and put my mind at rest.

Fantastisk redskab lige ved hånden. Ikke nok med en god og grundig konsultation, hvor man kan få et præg af hvorvidt det er akut til dyrelæge eller om man kan ordne det selv derhjemme. De er gode til at give plads og ro til at alle parter er med på hvad der snakkes om og skynder sig ikke igennem konsultationen men derimod tager sig tid til at forklare. Selv efter samtalen blev vi mødt med kæmpe service. Vi modtog en efterfølgende mail med mere uddybende svar og beskrivelse til fremadrettet hjælp. Vil til hver en tid anbefale firstvet. Fortsæt med det fantastiske arbejde 💪🏼
I have access to first vet for free via my pet insurance. Used it for the first time tonight as my 9month old puppy has been very sick all evening. Everything was great from navigating the app, booking the appointment and the appointment it’s self has given us additional peace of mind.I won’t hesitate to use it again and wish I had thought of it a few weeks ago when I was ended up at the vet forking out £62 for a 5 min consult.
Brilliant service all round. We've had it for around 4 months, used it 3 times, and each time the vet was super helpful, friendly and reassuring. Yeah, in general they need to say "if it gets worse, visit a vet..." but this is such a reassuring service for new dog owners, panicing when he get's a bad eye or cough. Honestly love this app and service, we wouldn't be without it now.
