Ordered 30 x 2.4m sleepers a couple of weeks ago for delivery on Friday gone. Email received from the courier early on the morning of delivery with delivery slot. Subsequently updated and arrived early. No complaints whatsoever. Make sure you have 2 people available to accept delivery - they take some shifting. I’ve probably underestimated what I need and will very likely order more. In my opinion great service and very happy.
Railway sleepers arrived on time, extremely helpful delivery person. We had not received the email of confirmation of delivery, so had some concerns that they would not arrive. Really pleased when they turned up ontime.
Having read the recent bad reviews I was a little nervous about my delivery today, but all was perfect! I called Gardoo/AHS this morning and they informed me the delivery would be today, and it's just arrived following tracking info from the delivery company. Driver was helpful and friendly. Knocking off 1 star for the high delivery charge, but overall a great experience and the wooden sleepers are excellent.
Would give no stars if I could... Wish I read the reviews before I ordered. No phone number on website, delivery did not turn up on day requested even though my self AND my wife stayed home as Gardoo insist 2 people need to be home for delivery . Three emails sent, so far none answered, no calls. Shocking customer service, avoid this company at all cpsts.
I ordered 18 sleepers from Gardoo and they all arrived in perfect conditions. My delivery came different day what was said but the customer service send me an email to inform me will be late due to very busy time in the haulage company. No problem there. Very happy definitely use again. Thanks
I ordered a 1000ltr bag of barking for my front garden and was given today, 22/4, as my delivery date. My delivery came on the day specified and early. The driver rang and notified me that he was on his way 10 - 15 mins before delivery. Very nice chap and dropped off my barking as close as he could to the front garden for me.
the delivery arrived a day late (after insisting on two people being there all day to wait for it between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.). No response at all from Customer services - all in all just disappointing. Being a day late wouldn't have been a major issue if they'd just have communicated with me that there was a problem, as it was I just feel that they don't really care and so neither will I - I won't order again. As an aside the driver just said he 'no idea I'm just a driver' and had a bad arm so couldn't help at all (in the end it was fine and we managed).
Very similar experience to what others have described here. Placed an order several weeks ago for delivery on 16th April, and handed over £150. Nothing turned up on the day, no email communications from Gardoo. Tried calling the company but no answer, sent several emails through their website and never heard back. Eventually, through looking at other reviews here, we found a phone number. Got through to the sister company who informed us that the items we ordered were out of stock. They said they'd pass on our details and request a refund for us. WHY Gardoo couldn't just email us on the delivery day to tell us it was out of stock (or, even better, tell us beforehand and issue a refund) is beyond me. That's just basic customer service. At least put some contact details on your website, ESPECIALLY if you're going to take money from people without even knowing what you have in stock. Otherwise it's borderline fraudulent.
OK.... having read some of the recent reviews for this company, I searched a telephone number and got through to the "sister" trade company and expressed my concern about placing an order. The lady I spoke to was very honest and said that after 26 years of excellent service Gardoo had recently experienced a few delivery issues and communication problems. This is purely down to a massive upturn in orders due to the pandemic and that everyone was looking to do up their garden this year instead of going on holiday. The Gardoo team was very small so they they were struggling to take calls and were trying to do everything through email.... fair enough I'd say. She also said that due to the massive volume of orders they had recently had to use a different delivery company that had let them down over the last few weeks. She said that rest assured the sleepers I wanted were in stock and if I ordered online they would now arrive on the day I requested. I then placed an order for 27 Sleepers on 14th for delivery on the 22nd. To be honest I was very concerned that by 10pm on the 21st I still hadn't received notification that the delivery would take place so I sent a very strong email to Gardoo as I was concerned I had taken the day off for no reason!!! TODAY 22nd I was very happy to wake up to an email and tracking link from the delivery company saying that the Sleepers would be delivered between 9am-11am and they arrived in perfect condition @ 10:30am. At 11am I also received a reply from Gardoo apologising for the lack of communication but noted I had received the sleepers. So for balance..... thank you very much Gardoo for supplying these across the country when everyone else appears to be sold out. I would definitely use you again.
Beware - something is obviously wrong at Gardoo at the moment given my experience and the comments below. I ordered a pallet of chipped bark and arranged a delivery date - took the day of work to be in when it arrived. It didn't arrive - no message, no call - nothing ! The next working day I tried to call them. The phone number was disconnected and emails/customer feedback forms were not being answered. I finally found an alternative number (0333 207 0440 - it's for AHS, their sister company) who said they would ring me back - they didn't. Tried again the next day and was told that the delivery wasn't made as there was no stock. To quote their customer service person "It's embarrasing - I'm sorry" So I cancelled the order, got a refund and found another company who have delivered what I need in 2 days. So be careful - the problems may be temporary but they are clearly significant so proceed with care !!
I placed an order for some sleepers a few weeks ago, with an arranged delivery for today. Since placing my order I noticed a lot of negative reviews cropping up and started to become concerned, I had booked the day off work to be home for the delivery. I sent Gardoo a message and never received a reply which added to my concerns. I checked the order status last night and it still claimed to be processing, and I had received no emails from Gardoo to say the order had been dispatched. This morning came and went and still no correspondence, then at 13:20 I received an email from the courier saying my delivery had been scheduled for 13:00 - 15:00, this was later delayed by an hour but was easing my concerns slightly but the tracker said that the order was not yet out for delivery and was still at the depot, shortly after the tracker updated claiming to be out for delivery and then just after 3 the driver arrived at my house. I am very happy with the sleepers, there is areas of damage to a few of the sleepers but this can be placed so it will not be visible. However, the correspondence from Gardoo was terrible, hence the 4 stars, the only email I received was my order confirmation, which made for a very stressful experience, but my order did arrive and on the arranged date. Happy with the items, please work on customer service!
Have been looking around for 2.4m sleepers to use on a project at home, was drawn to the Gardoo site due to the cost of their brown 2.4m 100mm x 200mm sleepers which seemed on the whole a very good price. On deciding what I was after I attempted to place an order, firstly found it extremely strange why there was no telephone number on the site??? Then saw they wanted £120.00 for the delivery charge (extortionate) on top of the materials costs. That led me to have a look at the reviews on their site, having read reviews of the company of which I would say 90% of were very negative as far as orders actually turning up-delivery charges-customer relations-having calls/emails answered etc, alarm bells started ringing. I also sent, in total now 3x emails (no response yet). Managed to get a number from one of the reviews and called to discuss placing an order and collecting said order, a gentleman answered phone and initially told me that Gardoo was another company and nothing to do with him?? Even though the number I used to speak with this gentleman mentioned Gardoo as one of the options to choose on their automated service??. I questioned this and then was asked what he could help me with, I explained including my reservations about using the company due to negative reviews and he said he would speak with Gardoo customer services while I was on the phone (less than a minute later) he returned and informed me that in actual fact Gardoo wasn’t excepting collections on orders as they were too busy in the yard,,,,, SURPRISE SURPRISE!!. I‘ve never used this company before and from what I’m experiencing even before I’ve placed an order is,,,,,BE VERY CAREFUL as they leave a lot to be desired!!!!!!!! Something very odd about this company.
Still waiting for £800 order to arrive now costing me a fortune as having to hire a telehandler for an extra week. Tried calling and leaving a message and sent 2 emails to which none have been replied to. Shocking customer service and delivery times avoid at all cost.
Appalling delivery service. After waiting in all day (and receiving no notification of an estimated time of delivery on the day as we were expecting) the delivery driver refused to deliver onto our driveway, which has a wide entrance, no sills, is flat and we had cleared ready for the 4 tonne bags. He wanted to leave them on the road in front of our house, which is a single track road and was an impossible scenario for the other residents. He couldn't explain what the problem was clearly (just complained about the gravel on the drive) and was unhelpful in solving the problem so, in the end, we had to refuse the delivery as we had reached a stalemate. We think the company will now charge us for restocking/haulage and we have no product. There is no phone number on the website, so we couldn't phone up to discuss the problem with anyone and could only deal with the belligerent driver. We will never use Gardoo again. Further to Gardoo's response below....this did get resolved eventually but we had to pay an extra £70 or so for the privilege of having it re-delivered - apparently to return the chippings into stock was going to cost us more than the original order cost (how does that make sense?). The comment about the gravel drive is that it says in the small print, in the Terms and Conditions, that they cannot deliver onto gravel. Why does it not state this clearly up front? Beware and read the T and C's!
Placed an order at the beginning of April for delivery Friday 16th. Tried to contact via email and the online forms with no response, plus the phone number didn’t work. Still trying to get an update on the status of my order
We placed an order with you for delivery last Friday (16th April). No delivery showed up. We've contacted you multiple times via email & Twitter (as you don't appear to have a phone number) and we have received NO response. You have our money. We don't have our product or any indication of when it will be delivered. How can we get an update on the status of our order?
The whole experience of dealing with Gardoo has been great, the site was easy to use, browse and check out. I received my delivery date two days later and the sleepers arrived within a week, at 10am on the day they stated! I was slightly nervous after reading some of the previous reviews but I can’t complain at all, the sleepers are great quality, the price was really competitive and they did exactly what they said they would in regards to delivery. The order process says you need two people available to unload but I just couldn’t get anyone to help, this wasn’t an issue for the driver and we did it together! Maybe some people have been unlucky but my experience has been 5*
I wish I had read all of these reviews before I placed my order. My story seems to follow suit with the majority of others. I placed the order at the start of April with a specified delivery date of 16th April. I had the confirmation that the sleepers had been dispatched and would be delivered as specified however surprise surprise after waiting in all day and taking time off work nothing arrived. I have been unable to get any kind of response from Gardoo as to where the delivery is and when I can expect it. There are loads of Ts & Cs about delivery and the costs I would incur if I didn't arrange for 2 people to take receipt, blah blah. Having been charged the best part of £100 on delivery, days holidays taken and having to cancel landscapers who were installing the sleepers then I think there should be compensation for my costs too!! If I could give no stars then I would! N.B. Delivery has now arrived with no warning. Advised by the driver that the goods only arrived with them on the evening of the 19th so they were never going to be delivered on the 16th. There was nowhere near my house for the driver to park and nobody to help him other than me. So I've had to help carry them up the road to my house. To add to that the driver dropped one of the sleepers on my fingers, to which he said, oh whats the matter, broken a nail, while he was smirking. Brilliant attitude to health and safety right there. I would advise anyone not to use Gardoo, it's not worth the hassle. Invoice #300055460
Delivery didn't turn up, they won't respond to emails and telephone number is incorrect..... How can they run a business like this

Apr 25,2021Worst sleepers I have ever purchased. Never seen that amount of sap on sleepers. 7 out of 15 were almost unusable. Attempted to discuss the matter with them but they just ignore emails. There is a reason why these are cheaper than the going rate, stay well clear.
