We look after the legal side of residential property sales, purchases and remortgage. We act for corporate clients, 'High Street' Lenders and individuals wishing to change their mortgage product from one brand to another.

We are based in Maidenhead but provide services to customers and clients nationwide. We are available for personal meetings with our local clients and available on the phone for our clients who are based elsewhere in the country.

My case officer was Shona, who was excellent and always answered my messages promptly and provided timely updates - thanks Shona. I think the paperwork could have been better - the formatting of the letters and schedule is poor and the language could be simpler but this is more a minor irritation.

Poor communication. Tried several times to contact Lara with no response. My current mortgage deal is set to end this month and thus subsequently moving to variable, and costs increasing significantly. Process has been dragging for weeks - wouldn’t be as bad if they provided updates.

Shona at Gordons was very helpful and very responsive to all emails to ensure a quick completion. From a mortgage brokers perspective i was very impressed with the service from Shona.

This company was appalling - do not use them if your mortgage might be anything other than straightforward. They are very difficult to contact to discuss anything: if you call them you have a huge wait for the call to be answered by a customer service assistant who cannot actually answer anything. Your appointed 'case handler' is never available if you ask to speak to them. On the few occasions when the case handler did call, if I missed the call there was no second chance, and no way to call back, without going through the above process yet again. When you email then you get a curt answer back 1-2 days later - it is impossible to manage a discussion on these timescales. There was no recognition of special circumstances and as a result our mortgage took MONTHS longer than it should have, which cost us around £1000 in interest as our previous deal had expired. Although the headline cost was quite low, various extra charges were levied without pre-warning. These were not clear up-front. This was one of the lower cost quotes I received, and I guess you get what you pay for: my impression is of a low-cost, under-resourced set-up, providing a one-size-fits-all, low quality service. It ended up costing me far more in the long run, than using a trusted local solicitor. Never again!

Gordon's Property Lawyers sorted our Mortgage with Nat West, they were very efficient and everything went smoothly, their online portal kept us up to date with easy access to all relevant documentation at any time, couldn't fault their service and would recommend them without hesitation

I currently have 3 BTL mortgages going through GPL and Natwest which has been very frustrating. Issues include 1. Very long wait on the phone to speak to the case handling 2. Automated messages coming via the portal on 3 occasions asking the same question which I had replied to and the case handler failed to pick up 3. The case handling failing to read uploaded documentation regarding the leasehold status on my flat 4. Numerous spelling mistakes in correspondence 5. Lack of clarity on a number of issues 6. When I did get through to the case handler they constantly talked over me, they were not empathic and just kept blaming the system re automated messages. 7. The whole process is very impersonal 8. I feel the case handler is just an administrator, which they probably are with little decision making authority or initiative

GPL were nominated as the company by my mortgage lender to complete the process. My overall experience with them has been very positive, the system and the processes were easy to complete along with the instructions to what was needed. I always found the person responsible for my case to be efficient and quickly replied to any thing I asked or commented on. Overall a very easy process. Happy!

Very happy with GR Lawyer's service with my re-mortgage case. Entire case was dealt over a very intuitive and easy-to-use portal with clear and instructive workflow. Everything from case process steps, client questionnaire, fees & payments and direct chat with the Solicitor was completely online. Very happy with the service and experience, case was completed on time as prescribed.

Utterly appalling service. Impossible to speak to the person handling your case, all you get to speak with are 'customer service advisors'. It took four months for them to deal with a very simple remortgage for Natwest. During all that time despite weekly and sometimes daily attempts to call them I never actually got to speak with a solicitor or my case handler, Ilze Pundure. Didn't call me back when asked, ever. Luckily I had a helpful financial advisor to help, otherwise the mortgage would have fallen through. If you remortgage with Natwest you may have no choice but to deal with them, otherwise avoid like the plague.

Awful service... Lack of communication. No care was given whatsoever. Poor comms resulted in having daily interest rate penalties from my current bank. (Whilst we were transferring one mortgage to the other) despite my asking for an update Friday morning. Monday arrives and I ask for an update on the completion of the mortgage and then told the bank didn't release the money. Another £100 needs to be coughed up due to daily interest rates. All you get is a shrug of the shoulders and a "Not my problem" attitude. Although I agree it's not them who are to blame for funds not arriving and is the responsibility of the bank, they failed to inform me of this, and I could have called the bank myself and tried to settle the matter. They are an Old-fashioned service that often needed me to "Print" things off or send via post which again results in more delays! They also charge a fee for their work despite nothing saying anything about a fee when I applied for the mortgage through Natwest!

A really quick and smooth re-mortgage process. From first contact to completion was less than 4 weeks. Pamela was very efficient and replied promptly. Think the online portal is a really useful tool.
