I’ve been a tenant with Hastings for 12 months and after the end of tenancy, it took me almost four months to get my deposit back. First they ignored my emails and phone calls for three months and then they kept coming up with new lies about damage that was already there on check in. We got our deposit back after endless email chains and phone conversations but let this be a warning for everybody who wants to rent at Hastings. Also other reviews at this platform confirm that this is not an incident but common practice at Hastings My advice: if you ever become a tenant with Hastings, make sure you make pictures of every minor damage (if in doubt, add it to the check in report) because they will try to cut your deposit even if the damage was already there.

As a landlord in the Canada Water area, I have been with Hastings for the past two years. Their service and professionalism during this period has been exceptional.

I can recommend this agency to landlords. They’ve let my flat in Bermondsey for over 7 years. The tenants they brought in have all been reliable and contented - this to me is their stand-out skill. They are professional and on the whole fair. A few unexpected costs have popped up, but nothing intolerable. In addition they have been prepared to offer occasional advice and support on management. Good job so far - thanks.

I have been a customer for 9 years. My experience with the company as a landlord based in the USA has been outstanding. The company is extremely efficient and responsive. They are able to rent the flats relatively quickly at good rents. They also take care of all maintenance issues in a timely manner. They manage the finances impeccably. I can’t recommend them highly enough. I specifically want to highlight two individuals who work there, Kay and Jason. They are extremely professional, diligent, dedicated, and talented. Absolutely delightful to work with. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Ive tried replying to trust pilot link, the link isnt working. Just to add i asked them to end my policy on monday but they didn't and are now charging me for 5 more days. Check out there facebook page lots of people having issues

I don't usually waste time to write reviews online but Hastings and their service had an impact on my mental health... We left the property we rented from them after having 1 year contract. We didn't renew as they were asking a 42% increase in the rent!!!! The market is back to normal, covid is over bla bla bla. After leaving the property they never got in touch with us for inspection and inventory check, never! They deducted 650 pounds from our deposit for professional cleaning, 650 pounds...after they inspected the place by themselves and of course sent over their cleaning service for the job. I work as a consultant in London having a M.Eng and M.Sc and I still don't make this money for my services. This is pathetic, unprofessional and miserable, taking people's money because they just decide to. And dear Hasting's agents, if you know the market so well please don't waste your time working as estate agents but instead go and work for the big funds in the City! Just avoid them.

I have been using Hasting International for my flat As a Landlord I have been updated everything about my but could be better especially the quotes for the repair is exorbitantly vet high and also yearly statement is very confusing

I have used Hastings International to manage my rental property for a number of years now and they have always been very responsive, providing helpful guidance when tenants move on and with respect to changing landlords responsibilities, and my property has never been vacant for more than a day or so. I do think that the accounts they provide for each tax year could be a bit more user friendly (they are cumulative accounts and it would be easier if they more clearly and simply stated the tax year rental income and the tax year expenses).

While Hastings International has provided good service, it can improve on certain areas e.g my previous tenant moved out and left the apartment in a mess with work to be done to make it livable and I had to foot the bill. The deposit money from the previous tenant is meant to cover such costs. For the deposit money to be released, I was told it had to be done by a solicitor. Due to Covid, it was not released as the solicitor was working from home. Since Freedom Day, where normal life has been restored, I have yet to receive the deposit money. Hastings has fallen short in service in this respect.
