Home from Home are excellent at finding a suitable boarder/carer for your pet. They are proactive in their approach, phoning to gather details of your requirements and important information about your pet. We have every confidence in Don and Jen's care of our dog Mia, they clearly love having her to stay. Mia is excited to arrive and is calm and well cared for when we collect her. Thank you.

We were a bit late in requesting a boarder, but Home from Home Dog Boarding patiently worked with us and different dates to help us find a spot for our dog. We appreciated this so much - and our dog had a great 'holiday'!

I was so happy to find Home from Home. I always get nervous leaving my dog with new sitters, but I've now found a number of amazing people through Home from Home who look after him so well, and I know they're motivated by their love of dogs. It gives me so much peace of mind now when I go away, and means I can travel with less stress.

Good communication from the team. It was the first time I had left my dog with anyone other than close friends or family. I was a bit worried but need not have been. Tina was so gentle and caring, and walked Beanie three times a day despite awful weather (Beanie doesn't mind the rain). I really felt that Beanie had been loved as though she was Tina's own dog.

Very happy with our dog carer Nora, the dogs seemed very comfortable with her when they first met and we got a few photo updates during their stay and they looked happy and settled, we are confident they were very well taken care of and would leave them with Nora again.

We are so pleased that we have found Home from Home Dog Boarding as we will definitely be using them in the future for all our doggy holiday needs after our pup recently stayed with one of their families whilst we were away. Their staff are so friendly and polite, plus very easy to deal with too. We highly recommend them.

Honestly, I've been boarding with HFH for >15 years. The company as it is today is completely unrecognizable compared to the way it operated in the past. For clarity, I have a 'special needs' dog. He's a senior dog with epilepsy and requires a very inflexible med schedule. This means that emergencies are always possible, but with very clear and open lines of communication, they needn't be crises. I made it clear to the agency and the carer that communication was everything - ideally daily updates, with photos as much as possible, as things can change very quickly with senior dogs and someone unfamiliar may not always spot the warning signs. I left him with one carer for 9 days in the summer as a sort of "beta" test for a 5 week production trip scheduled in the autumn. The short trip was to attend a funeral in Canada. On Day 2 I got an aggressive phone call demanding a £100 advance on the September trip *that had not yet been confirmed* - literally in the middle of the funeral service. When I explained this, they would not get off the phone until I transferred the money. I did. Then silence. I asked for photos, none came. Updates only came when pressed. On Day 6 I got a message saying he'd been "coughing quite a lot". Since this can be an early warning of CHF in older dogs, I suggested she take him to the vet. She did not. It turned out she had been letting him eat foxtails - for days - so many that when I retrieved him he was choking for air. I took him directly to the vet A&E, who surgically removed them and showed me the sheer volume of material they had extracted. They said he was lucky to be alive. I tried to find another place for him when I returned, but the notice was now too short. Having already paid deposit, plus the "shakedown" advance, I tried to place my dog with another carer at HFH. I got endless messages from the first, apologizing about the foxtails and promising daily contact with photos. All in writing. Against my instincts, I left my dog with HFH a second time. It was so much worse than the last. Again extra money was given for either a new phone or a data voucher to allow international messaging. Daily WhatsApps were promised, but never arrived. I very nearly flew home, but was inundated with assurances about on-the-spot improvements. These also did not materialize. At one point two teenagers I'd never met had fully taken over his care, for how many days I have no idea. This was not ok. It was not what was agreed. There was no adult in the home with working internet or phone for at least a week. That I know of. My dog's safety depended entirely on two elusive, teenage strangers pirating neighbours' wifi. Had there been an emergency, I can't bear the thought. 4 times there were >5 days with no contact at all - neither from the carer nor the agency. After 9 days of HFH silence - during which I had no issues connecting with anyone else in the UK - I got 4 missed calls in a row after midnight. Since I couldn't place or receive terrestrial voice calls (another detail I made clear many times - literally any other platform, from sms to WhatsApp, Signal, FaceTime, iMessage was accessible by text or voice throughout my trip) I asked for an update by text or email to clarify whether there was an emergency. When none came, I borrowed a Sat phone and drove out in the search of a signal to find out what was going on. It turned out there was no emergency that time. I did not hear from anyone in the agency again until after I got home. No updates, no photos, nothing. In the only three texts I received over the last four weeks of five, I was notified that the carer was not walking him as per his usual routine, instead letting him off-lead in the local dog park - against their clearly stated promise, and my specific requests. This was my worst nightmare realized in two forms - an actual health crisis neglected, followed by a refusal to honour the agreements made in writing or follow the absolute minimum forms of contact - agreed upon in writing. I had no idea if my dog was safe, and they had demonstrated they would not respond in the event of an emergency. If you have a very low maintenance pet and do not require regular contact, I can see where some of the carers at this agency might work. They certainly used to provide an excellent service. When my previous dog was a needy senior, they spoiled her and updated me without being asked. A lot has changed. If you expect a degree of care for your dog that is based on honouring commitments made in writing, though, and honest follow-through on promises made, I would definitely not recommend this group. The response to both the health emergency (an incomprehensible mix of apologies, denial and blame-shifting) and the long periods of total silence ranged from boilerplate responses to downright disdain. Still, the promises made were not fulfilled.
