I bought a tv from this company and unfortunately it turned up broke (delivered by an external delivery company) I phoned customer service and they dealt with my request in a very professional manner and got me a new one sent out straight away (by a hughes driver).

Customers elderly and in their 90’s. Paid for the unpacking service for a larder fridge. The fridge was delivered and unpacked, plugged in but the fridge handle was not fitted. I emailed to enquire about this lack of service. I did not receive a reply so I rang the contact number. Was told this was not part of the service. I explained that as the customer were elderly and they couldn’t fit the handle themselves it wouldn’t have took much time for the delivery and fitting guys the do this for them. Disappointed with this level of service.

To whom it may concern Does your company acknowledge/reward staff who give excellent customer service? I would like to put forward, if I may a person named Adam from the call centre an employee of yours who gave me top quality, genuine customer service. In this day and age it is unfortunate that as customers we do not come across more staff, more often, who sound happy in there work, are sincere and genuine, with good old fashioned manners. Adam has excellent manners, just the right amount of informality and a genuine person who clearly enjoys his role within your company. Hughes electricals are very fortunate indeed to have him working for your company. I am a 67 year old retired Armed Forces Veteran and would like to see myself as someone who notices outstanding professional service. Kindest Regards Mr Peter Snowdon

Made a purchase with Hughes through a third party D&G claim never seen the item i purchased working All i see was a photo of the item never was told anything about the item or if this is the correct item by Hughes Electrical JUst paid D&G the Balance was informed . it will delivered so it was a blindfold purchase never did they ask me or speak about purchase After purchase i then i read on their web site the following which i have copied (These items must be unused (not installed) So what there are saying is they will deliver the item you are allowed open the sent item can't try the item which has never been demonstrated as its a online purchase & if you try the item you never been Demonstrated Tough in fact what they are they saying you have no statutory Rights whatsoever just buy the item Blindfolded and when you find out its not for you can't return is this written in the Consumer Rights Act 2015 !!!! this is 2025 not 1935

We bimbled into our local store in Felixstowe, confused about tvs. The staff were fantastic, taking time to explain the intricacies of modern viewing, it being some years since we had last updated anything. Knowledgeable friendly, and patient, their enthusiasm for their products helped us make up our minds. They were able to suggest solutions about which we had no clue, and we await the tangible manifestation of our discussions with eager anticipation. Thank you, Felixstowe, for turning a potential minefield into a walk in the park.

We needed a new dishwasher. Went into our local Hughes store in Felixstowe. They found us a replacement at a very competitive price and offered to install the new fitted machine and take away the old one. From visiting the shop to new machine in place and working less than 48 hours. What a great team.

I went into your beccles branch to buy a fridge which I really needed . your staff were lovely but your manager said he couldn’t sell me a fridge on display in the shop. See the thing is I want to support local firms but if you can’t sell something then we’re all in a muddle. Crazy world and you lost a sale . Nick..

We ordered and paid in full for a Bosh washing machine. The delivery was booked for Friday 24th. We used the tacking app on ArrowXL to track the van onto our street. We had all our outside lights on and I stood outside the house to look for the delivery van. A message then appeared on the app that delivery had failed as we were not home and a card had been left. No card, no attempted delivery - they went to the wrong house! We tried their contact to be told that they weren’t taking any more calls today as they closed at 7pm - it was 6:15pm! We rearranged the delivery for today and were given a delivery slot of 3:30 to 5:30 but when I realised the tracking app wasn’t working I phoned ArrowXL to be informed that the washing machine was still in the depot and wouldn’t be delivered today. They had no idea why or why we had been given a delivery time for an item that never left their depot. I phoned Hughes to explain that I needed my washing machine asap having been without one for the better part of two weeks now but there was no flex in the delivery options despite the previous two failures to deliver - the delivery could not fit around us but had to be at their convenience! Next delivery now scheduled for Saturday 1st Feb - am I confident? No! Am I impressed? No! Will I be ordering from Hughes again? No! Hughes customer service have tried their best but they are failed by such an inadequate delivery service. I can’t see how they stay in business if customers experience this performance after ordering goods! My advice; unless you want the frustration of multiple failed deliveries, buy elsewhere!

Poor company, paid a lot of money for product, it arrived damaged and was very small, did not meet description. Paid £25 for delivery but then had to pay £60 to return. When returning 2 men turned up in a run down vehicle and requested I help them lift the fridge.

After paying full payment, 4 days later informed that they had no stock and unable to get another tumble dryer from manufacturer for 5-6 weeks(no guarantees) Please do not sell items when you have no stock 😬

After 3 years of loyal custom, Hughes Rental has demonstrated the most unprofessional and customer-hostile service imaginable. Managing a busy household with 4 young children and 4 animals means a functioning washing machine isn't a luxury—it's an absolute necessity. My nightmare began when my washer broke down and I contacted Hughes expecting the professional service I'd received previously. They agreed to replace the machine entirely, which initially seemed helpful. However, the delivery was a complete disaster. The delivery driver arrived with a new machine but refused to remove the old machine, claiming he wasn't insured. I was left with TWO washing machines in my already cramped flat, creating an impossible living situation. When I called for assistance, a staff member named Chris was not just unhelpful, but dismissive. He essentially told me that if I couldn't install the machine myself, they would have to send someone to collect both washers. This came after 3 years of consistent payments and loyalty. The level of disrespect and lack of customer support is beyond comprehension. A company that claims to provide a service has completely failed in every aspect of customer care, leaving me—a long-standing customer with a complex household—completely stranded and desperate.

I have selected delivery date from options suggested by Hughes for my post code, paid for delivery on suggested date (after tomorrow), but the next day got message form Hughes saying for some post code delivery takes longer (up to a week from leaving warehouse). On purchasing I specially chose the date I can be at home. And this is not highlands, its a 3rd biggest city in Scotland. Very annoyed by careless/deceiving promise. They knew my postcode on the time of booking. Competitors honestly offered closest delivery date 5 days from purchase date.

Bought a Beko CFG4501W Fridge Freezer from Hughes through Amazon. On delivery, the fridge crisper drawer was found to be broken. Advised by Amazon to contact Hughes, which I did, and was informed by their representative, who forcibly insisted that it was none of their responsibility as they were only the third-party seller. The customer care representative refused to replace the crisper drawer and told me to get in contact again with Amazon who can only collect the whole item. Passing the buck at its finest. Now we have to wait for Amazon to return the fridge freezer, Amazon to return it to Hughes, Hughes to inspect the defective parts and then, perhaps, issue a refund of the £459.00 I spent in good faith within 5 working days which will take us until the 9th February (today is the 27th January). All frozen and fresh food will be spoiled but Hughes don't care a jot because, as their representative pointed out, it's not Hughes Electricals responsibility. I'm on a tight budget and cannot afford to buy a new fridge freezer until I receive the refund which means that I cannot feed fresh food to my daughters during the next two weeks. Terrible customer service from both Hughes and Amazon - please don't order anything from Hughes through Amazon as they will just refuse to help.

Arrived on time with a polite phone call from the driver 20 minutes before, took the old washing machine away put the new one in my utility room no worries and great service, the Bosch washing machine was £25 cheaper than anybody else on line.
