Jan 20,2025Took 4 attempts before item was delivered. First time item wasn't on the truck when arrived, I was told someone would call, no one did. The next 2 times cancelled due to staff sickness, called me during the 2 hour delivery slot, too late already taken time off work so cost me money. I think they should have tried to get my item to me the 2nd attempt as it was their mistake. Finally got my item after 2 weeks. When delivery guys turned up could not fault them.

Jan 19,2025Ordered an oven for my 87 year old grandma. Got delivered and was fitted by our sparky. Oven was faulty, first time we turned it on it went bang. Spoke to hughes, they agreed a replacement and agreed to fit it for free as it was faulty. But we had to wait a week. Not ideal but Fine. Fast forward to today I get a call from my distraught grandmother telling me they are refusing to fit the oven because she has tiled kitchen walls. And they can come back in about a week or so if we strip the tiles off the walls. Leaving her with no oven for a second week. Or she can get her own sparky in to fit it and they'll come back sometimes to collect the faulty oven. Disgusting thing to do to anyone. Luckily for us not for Hughes got the oven fitted by our sparky. Big shout out to that fantastic man for coming on his day off to make sure my very elderly very vulnerable grandma could eat tonight. We have used Hughes all the time. The store is local and the in-store staff are usually very good. Over the last year my grandma has sadly had to spend around £1600 with Hughes as old goods have packed in. But that will be the VERY LAST money they ever get from any of us. AS A HUMAN BEING YOU LEFT AN 87 YEAR OLD WOMAN WITH NO OVEN AND GAVE ZERO CARES ABOUT IT BECAUSE HER WALLS ARE TILED. May nobody ever treat you're family that way. Absolutely abhorrent. As I can't reply to the comment left by yourselves. I don't know what information you are expecting me to post online for all to read. But I will not be posting any private info in an online forum. Funny though that the gent who came to collect faulty oven said that it's ridiculous that they wouldn't fit it as people really don't use their brains to think anymore. I'm not sure exactly how you expect to win my grandma back. Customer service is everything which is why she continued to pay over the odds for stuff. But that bridge has been burned. If this was your grandma do you think you would give another chance to a company that left her like that? I didn't even include the fact that it completely blew the whole house electrics out when it went bang. Leaving her with no electric until one of us could get there to turn it back on and isolate the faulty oven. Given the fact you have the date on this it wouldn't be too hard to research a refused job on this date to fit an oven because of tiles walls. Unless you're saying that there's a lot of fitting jobs for ovens that get refused on a daily basis? It was for a 50cm Hotpoint electric oven at a ripe price of £429. As it was conveniently the only one that has a top and bottom oven.
