Nov 01,2022We used Ionian Weddings for our wedding in Santorini August 2022. I absolutely recommend Ionian weddings to anyone thinking of having a wedding abroad. Our planner, Rachel, has been absolutely amazing. She helped us so much throughout the process, from recommending suppliers, answering any question I had no matter how little or how stupid it was, to reassuring me when I was panicking about small things. I think planning a wedding abroad can seem pretty daunting as you don't get to see suppliers, venues etc in real life and this can lead to a lot of anxiety. Rachel was fantastic at reassuring us that all of our suppliers knew exactly what they were doing and everything would be perfect on the day - it was! We got married at Santorini Gem and hadn't saw the venue in person before booking. We had a run through with the wedding co-ordinator Ionian weddings use called Sofia, two days before the wedding and my goodness we were completely blown away. It is an absolutely stunning venue with possibly the best view of the sunset on the island. I couldn't fault the venue at all, the staff were exceptional and the food was AMAZING. All of my guests still talk about the food to this day. Sofia our wedding coordinator was absolutely great. We didn't have to worry about anything in the run up to the wedding and on the day, we were able to just enjoy the day without any stress or worry. We used Ionian weddings recommended Florist for our boquet and table runner and they were gorgeous. They knew what my theme was and stuck to it 100%. They were delivered fresh 20 minutes before I walked down the isle. If you are thinking of booking a Saxophonist - DO IT! Rachel booked Fotinos the Saxman for us and he absolutely made our wedding. He is absolutely amazing. He played an hour for our cocktail hour whilst guests socialised and we took some pictures. Rachel recommended getting him to also play on the night time and we are so glad we went with her recommendation, he absolutely made our wedding reception. He had everyone up on the dance floor, played an amazing variety of songs. We even requested a song before the wedding through Rachel that was special to us and he learnt this song and played it for us which was fab. Definitely recommend everyone to go with Fotinos! We hired our own photographer to do our main photographers for the day, however, we had a photographer through our package with Ionian weddings. The package was for 2 hours and 150 photos. We requested that this photographer take photos of the guests arrival and throughout the reception. She was great and went above and beyond for us, even sending us more photos that were included in our package. Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic experience with Rachel and Ionian Weddings and would highly recommend them for anyone planning an abroad wedding. Oct 17,2022Maria was a great help from the start of the whole process and very prompt and helpful in responding to our questions. We booked the Pestana Viking for our wedding in Portugal and Marta and Mel (wedding planner and hotel manager) were great in the lead up and on the day itself making sure everything was organised. The day itself was fantastic and we had no complaints! The guests say they all had a great time too. Thank you to Ionian weddings!

Oct 12,2022We booked our wedding back in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, we knew we wanted to get married in Italy but we were somewhat apprehensive with all the restrictions. We chose to go with Ionian weddings due to their transparent pricing, and their record of 5 star reviews. We first spoke with Cassia, who gave us great advise of choosing the summer over spring as the Italian weather can be unpredictable and suggested a more private reception venue as we knew we wanted live music. Cassia also advised us to go for 2022 due to many weddings being postponed to 2021. We are forever grateful for her advice!!! After securing the date for August 2022 and paying our deposit things stayed fairly quiet for a year, which can feel a bit worrying, but is completely normal when they’re focusing on the upcoming wedding season. In December 2021 we were contacted by our planner Lindsay, who has been absolutely incredible throughout the whole planning process. Talking us through all the paperwork, wedding extras, how the day was going to be organised and reassuring when we needed it. Once we arrived in Italy, we were welcomed straight away by Viola who was so lovely and made us (me!) very calm and relaxed. At the pre wedding meeting the team ran through everything. We visited the flower shop where Giuseppe allowed us more choice and options with our wedding flowers. We got to visit our incredible wedding reception at Castore Eventi, the pre-wedding meal venue at The Foreigners club and meet the lovely Luisa for my hair trial. Our wedding day was by far the best day of our lives. My bridesmaids and I loved our hair, Luisa is so talented! The flowers from Fiori Sorrento were absolutely perfect, I’m so glad we took their advice. Our photographer, David from ND Photography, was brilliant and worked incredibly hard to capture the day, despite the midday sun and heat! The Cloisters is gorgeous with or without decorations, and we really loved how it was open to the public, we had our own little crowd clapping and celebrating with us 🥰 We went with a violin and cello and the musicians chose beautiful songs to compliment our choices. Bernardo at Castore was amazing and the food was just incredible. We had a fantastic saxophone player who completely wowed our guests and us. Everyone said they felt like they were at a celebrity wedding 🤩😄 The staff decorated the venue beautifully and they were all so accommodating, even when we all had a few too many, particularly me!!! We can’t thank Ionian and the whole team enough for what has been such an incredible planning experience and beautiful day that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Oct 10,2022The most amazing experience from beginning to end. Married at Santorini Gem (most incredible scenic venue very well run). Hair by Savva International through Ionion weddings(Kosta is brilliant). From the minute we sent our enquiry form to Ionion Weddings, through to booking, planning and then the day itself, every single touch-point was organised, friendly, reliable and simply perfect. Ionion employ the best people who really care and get every single detail right for that special day. I cannot rate them highly enough with specific name checks for Pat (booking), Rachel (UK planning) and Sofia (Santorini planner on the day), what a team!

Oct 09,2022Lindsay was fantastic throughout she was extremely informative and highly professional and really helped us feel at ease leading into our big day. In Portugal Marta and Melanie were brilliant, our day was planned to perfection and we received a highly attentive service throughout the day. It honestly couldn’t have gone better. Our guests all commented on what an amazing time they had. The cliff top venue in Portugal was just simply stunning. We can honestly say it was one of the best days of our lives and we were blessed to share it with our friends and family. Thank you so much Ionian weddings. We would highly recommend.

Oct 06,2022We’ve just got married in Paphos, Cyprus. Neither of us had been there before but loved the look of the venue and from the word go Ionian Weddings made it feel like everything was far too easy to become a reality… but it was exactly that and so much more. Our relatives used these guys back in 2018 so we wanted to do a similar thing and originally booked our wedding for September 2020, before Covid was a thing. What was an overall nightmare for most, didn’t phase them at all. Our wedding coordinator Helen, never fretted or made us feel pressured into making a decision and was so helpful throughout. Eventually we had to take the tough decision to cancel, like many others, but she kept hold of everything and rebooked our date for 2 years later. Once January 2022 came round she was back in touch and revisited everything with us to make sure we were happy. She answered question after question that we fired at her. If she didn’t know straight away, she had an answer to us as soon as she could (usually the same day). Planning a wedding pretty much blind isn’t easy and maybe not for everyone but Helen provided us with so many brochures and information, we were able to tailor our wedding to exactly how we wanted it. Any additional little touches we wanted were added. We can’t thank Helen enough for the work she put in, as in our eyes she made it so easy and as pin free as planning a wedding can be. Once we arrived in Paphos, we were met by our Paphos coordinator named Annika. Again, one of the nicest ladies you’ll meet. She made us feel so at ease and didn’t impose on our day at all. She was just there to make sure all our paperwork was in order and that our day was everything we wanted it to be. Thank you to everyone involved as you all made our day, the day we’d dreamed of for over 2 years. They will work so hard to make your day perfect for you. If you’re thinking of booking a wedding abroad, trust these guys to get it perfect for you.

Oct 01,2022We got married in Santorini in July 2022. We contact Ionian 2 years before. Ever since our first contact with Ionian we were confident that they would be the best planners for our day. Ionian were fantastic throughout the entire process, from helping us choose a venue, making recommendations and answering any questions we had along the way. Rachel (our planner) kept us up to date the entire time and made sure the entire process was stress free. We arrived in Santorini 3 days before the wedding and met Stella and Sofia. Both ladies were so friendly and put us at ease straight away. Stella and Sofia made the entire day completely flawless. They really were fantastic! I would highly recommend Ionian Weddings to anyone who is looking to get married abroad without any stress or worry at all.

Sep 24,2022The whole process was seemless from start to finish! We postponed due to covid so by the time we got down the aisle we had waited a while! Maria went above and beyond as our UK planner - having planned many weddings in Sorrento, she knew what worked and what didn't, no question was too silly and she would respond no matter what the time, letting us know she had passed our questions on to those in Sorrento and always got clear answers to us as quick as she could. The paper work was dealt with by Ionian too which just made things much easier than worrying over whether it would be a legal ceremony or not! We arrived in Sorrento 4 days before the wedding and had our pre wedding meeting with our local planner Viola. What Viola didn't know wasn't worth knowing! She made sure everything ran smoothly from the moment we had arrived until the end of the big day. From translating our ceremony at the cloisters (it was an honour to have her be the one to do this) to fluffing my dress and organising everyone to get the most breathtaking pictures, she made sure everyone was at ease and that it really was the most perfect day. The views from the Villa were indescribable - you really need to experience it to know what I mean and having the opportunity to see it before the big day at the pre wedding meeting was a lovely touch that we won't forget. We received our photographs before we headed back to the UK (we stayed a week after the ceremony as a minimoon) and they didn't disappoint! We can't thank Ionian Weddings enough, Maria and Viola are the ultimate planning pair, our day wouldn't have been the same without them!

Sep 21,2022An overall great experience! I cannot thank Maria, Antonella and Anna enough. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the ceremony and reception were, how organised the day was and how attentive the staff after Castore (Hidden Hillside Gem) were. Covid threw in some curveballs and unfortunately we had to cancel twice (initially due to marry September 2020), and due to this there was some confusion but this was swiftly sorted out via Maria Hardman who was nothing short of a saviour in my opinion! If you're a very 'hands on' bride who likes to control every little aspect, this is not the experience for you. However for myself and my husband, it suited us to the ground and I enjoyed putting the pieces together - every detail made was picked up and my dream wedding came alive. Antonella and Anna met with us before the wedding to meet the florist, Bernardo and Barbara at Castore, and when through every little detail. Castore was decorated BEAUTIFULLY, and the food was exquisite! We received our photos whilst still in Sorrento, and the quality has been impeccable! I'd highly recommend this experience, the memories we have made are priceless and we are extremely thankful for the team!

Sep 17,2022Ionian Weddings what can we say! We had the most amazing wedding at Kallithea Springs in Rhodes, more magical and beautiful than we could have ever imagined. From the moment we contacted Ionian to discuss our wedding plans the customer service was excellent. Helen was our wedding planner in the UK and she was so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her, every time I asked a question she responded straight away and came back with answers and ideas that made arranging our wedding effortless. When we arrived in Rhodes we met Michele at our venue who went through everything that would happen on the day and kept in contact with us right up until the day we got married. It was good to know there was some one we could speak to if needed. When the day arrived it was perfect from start to finish. The flowers were beautiful and the decor at the venue and reception was stunning. A day we will both never forget. Thank you so much Ionian Weddings ❤️❤️🥂🍾

Sep 14,2022We had a few minor issues on our day-Bridal car wasn’t dressed and was pretty run down with our driver on his phone the whole time, the minibuses we booked actually took our guests back to the hotel instead of our reception venue which made them pretty late and my hairdresser said she didn’t like the hairstyle I had chosen so she did something different (I didn’t choose). Our main issue however was with our photographer. He said that if we wanted him to stay to capture the cake cutting, first dance etc we’d need to pay him an extra 200 euros cash which we did and he advised us our photos would be with us within a month. After 7 weeks of texts back and forth where he said he was busy and didn’t have time to complete the job we received a link to photos which an amateur photographer wouldn’t even be proud of. We were so disappointed as those were the only memories we had that we contacted the Ionian team who said they would be re edited and sent back within two weeks. Four weeks later we received re-edited photos which were better but by no means great. Since this I’ve been able to get very little response from them and haven’t received any explanation re the wedding car which again, I have been advised was being looked into since June. As a final issue we paid for two translated wedding certificates so sent two Greek ones off and have only received one back. Overall I’ve been thoroughly disappointed and wouldn’t recommend Ionian as their communication throughout (even before the wedding) and help with the issues we’ve faced has been a complete let down. I would like to clarify in response to the reply I got from the company, the issues were raised from the outset, the car was run down and dirty with the wedding car decorations being advertised as what you get with the wedding car and the driver was on his mobile not hands free.

Lindsay was very helpful at responding promptly to all of my emails and running through all of the details to put us at ease. It was great to have all of the paperwork taken care of and for this to be checked off by Ionian to ensure that this was accepted in Italy in time. Sep 12,2022We first contacted Ionian Weddings back in 2019 and booked our wedding for September 2021in Portugal at the lovely resort hotel Vidamar, however, due to covid restrictions we decided to move our wedding forward to July 2022. With the help of Maria, we planned our perfect wedding. Everything went smoothly on the big day with the help of Marta and the Vidamar team, everything was as we had imagined! I would like to thank Maria, Marta and the team at Ionian Weddings for all their help from start to finish planning our big day. I would highly recommend to any newly weds. xx

Sep 12,2022Excellent from start to finish, particularly considering three change of dates/postponements due to Covid. When making the initial choices of venue, ceremony, flowers, food choices etc. we found these to be a simple process and guidance was given if and when needed. Our choices included an amazing ceremony at Cloisters (Sorrento) followed by our celebrations at the stunning Antiche Mura Sea View Villa. Upon arrival in Italy the coordination was first class. The first meeting even included such details as taking us to the florist to introduce us and to make sure we were happy with our floral choices. We were also taken to both wedding venues where every detail was double checked and it was very clear that they wanted nothing but perfection on the day. They delivered just that. It was everything we dreamed of. Our thanks go to the whole team, but particularly to Maria (England) and Viola (Italy). Thanks so much for making everything so special. Highly recommended!

Sep 08,2022My wife and I couldn't of asked for a better service from Ionian weddings. We can't thank Rachel and her team enough for ensuring everything went smoothly. We originally had our wedding booked for the summer 2021 however had to postpone this to August 2022 and whilst disappointed, Rachel and the team made the change as painless as it could have been. Right from the very start choosing a venue from their very clear and detailed proposals on their website, we found, what was meant to be one of the most stressful times in your life, so straight forward and simple due to the step by step guidance from Ionian weddings. Any extra charges or increases were clearly advised which made budgeting for the day very easy. We were helped along the way with very helpful emails/phonecalls/zoom calls from our planner Rachel and no question went unanswered. We have already recommended Ionian weddings to friends and just wish we could do it all again. Thanks for everything, Mr & Mrs Richards.

Sep 07,2022We had a great experience with Ionian weddings. Planning a wedding abroad is daunting but we were out at ease with Ionian’s simple method to venues, catalogue options and payment times. Our wedding planner Lindsay was a great help and made an effort to to ensure things were smooth for us. Everyone was really friendly and the translation/document help was great help. Cloisters and castore were great venues despite us not being able to visit before the wedding due to covid. We have now received our pictures and they are great. A really smooth experience and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others. Thank you

Maria our uk planner was amazing, always getting back to me quickly and reassuring us through the whole process. She made recommendations when we needed advise and was always at the end of the phone or email. Antonella in Italy was amazing too. She made everything go so smoothly and always welcomed us with a hug and a kiss when she saw us. We got married at Villa Antiche Mura in Sorrento which is just stunning, it literally takes your breath away. The day was everything and more we could have wished for. I would highly recommend getting in touch with Ionian if you are thinking of getting married abroad. Nov 01,2022There are no words to some up how amazing Ionian Weddings have been. From the moment Helen got involved to the final email, nothing was ever to much trouble for her, always so prompt with all her contact, giving great advice and always doing her best to answer my long winded and a million emails. We booked the private beach at thalassines villas. The venue took our breath away, simply stunning! :) everything about it, Obviously we was nervous as we had never visited the venue before arriving, but the pictures don't do it justice, it' even more beautiful! Rustic and romantic A ll the guests where amazed at how beautiful the whole wedding was and how smoothly it all ran, when we got there the team that took over Louise and Cheridee where truly amazing, again nothing was too much trouble, guiding us through every step with always a warmth and great energy. If anyone is thinking about having a wedding abroad I would say do it! But only with this company, truly smooth, excellent service throughout, whilst remaining professional yet personable. The whole experience was stress free, which is so important especially when you're organising abroad! To Helen, Louise and Cheridee Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
