May 21,2022Best day of our lives! Our ceremony took place at Villa Fondi and had the reception at Hotel Mediterraneo sky bar. Our wedding was beautiful and surpassed our expectations! The views was incredible and the day run so smoothly by our wedding planners and the staff at hotel Med. The wedding planners were amazing and we always there to help and support us. Thank you so much, for making our day so special. One we will truly never forget.

May 20,2022We just had our wedding in Tuscany, which was organised by the lovely Maria. We couldn’t have hoped for a better wedding day, all went perfectly and it was planned so well. We had our wedding at the Tuscan Farmhouse venue (San Galgano Abbey) and it was honestly so spectacular, we felt very special being there and I would 100% recommend it as a venue if you are looking to get married in Tuscany. The only slightly negative comment we have is that we had a few hidden charges which we did not expect and even once the final invoice was paid, we still had charges we were not told about which is quite surprising. I’d just say that expect to add a thousand or two to your final invoice, just in case! All that aside, I’d fully recommend Ionian Weddings and would use them again if we could do it all over again - thank you so much Maria!

May 16,2022We had our wedding in VidaMar, close to Albufeira on 4 May 2022. Our UK based coordinator Maria and Portugal based coordinator Marta were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Despite having to reschedule the wedding twice for obvious reasons, Maria consistently kept in contact and ensured we were kept informed of any issues arising. The day itself was absolutely perfect thanks to Marta. Our day was even better than we dared to imagine and all our guests were raving about the venue, food, entertainment and everything in-between. All of this was down to Ionian, Maria and Marta, with a very helpful catalogue to help shape the day but no requests were off limits. I would highly recommend Ionian Weddings, they provide first class service and helped make our dream day a reality.

May 16,2022We had our wedding in Tuscany, Italy on the 3rd of May and had a fantastic experience planning with Maria. She guided us so well through, extremely prompt answering all of our questions and no question was ever too much. The day itself and day 2 went really well, better than we could have imagined. Serena our coordinator in Italy on the day was also fantastic, very calming and made sure everything went off without a hitch, we were so pleased with how everything came together 😊

May 12,2022We got married on the 18th April in santoroni. We had a lovely day despite the rain after the ceremony! The wedding coordinator Sofia was great and super helpful. She made sure everything went a smoothly as possible. She even went out and got our son a box of cornflakes as that was all he wanted to eat. The photographer was very professional as was the videographer. The staff at pyrgos were so attentive and made a sure everyone had drinks at all times and the food was amazing. Everyone said they had a great time and enjoyed the evening which is all we wanted. Our wedding singer was fantastic as was the Saxo player! Overall experience was really good and our day was went rather smoothly thanks to the wedding planners!

Apr 22,2022We originally booked our Sorrento wedding for 2020 but due to obvious reasons we were forced to postpone, finally tieing the knott on 14th April 2022! From the start of the process our Ionian coordinators have been superb; quick to respond to queries and happy to discuss alternative options. We had originally booked the cloisters for the ceremony venue but decided to change to the museum corrale. It was the best decision we made. The venue is private, pretty and spectacular for photographs. The reception choice of the Lemon Garden went down very well with our guests, who were all impressed with both the setting and the food. Our contact in Sorrento, Antonella, was nothing short of amazing. The service we received from the pre-wedding meeting through to the day itself was both caring and professional, keeping in touch regularly and alleviating any apprehension we had. All the local suppliers, including the florist, photographer, restaurant owner and mandolin player, exceeded our expectations entirely and all contributed to making the day perfect. We would absolutely recommend Ionian to anyone looking to undertake a wedding abroad.

Apr 18,2022Helen, Orla and the rest of the Ionian team were excellent in helping us arrange our special day in Cyprus. Helen was always at the other end of the phone / email and was very quick to answer our queries. Orla was excellent on the day and ensured the day ran smoothly and stress-free. The reason why our review is not 5 star is purely because throughout the lead up to the day there appeared to be communication issues with the venue and Ionian which unfortunately led to us having to repeat things. On the day of the wedding it became apparent that guests were paying for drinks after we had put money behind the bar, we therefore had to raise this again with the venue and Ionian to get this sorted on the day. Other than the communication issues, Ionian have been excellent in helping to plan our wedding.

Apr 13,2022Exceptional from start to finish. Helen in the UK was a dream to plan our wedding with always there to reassure and answer questions, fast and efficient. Cathy was lovely at the venue again putting our mind at rest and helping with last minute changes. Last but not least the venue, suppliers, entertainment exceeded all my expectations and made the day a perfect dream. I honestly felt like everything was HD, it was just wonderful. A massive thankyou to the team for making our day perfect.

Mar 22,2022I booked my wedding through Ionian for 2024 in Portugal. I am so excited to have finally picked a venue with the help of Federica Lauro. She was able to have a face time with me to go through some options of what I wanted and has made the process so far very easy. She was even able to offer me the venue I wanted that was no longer on their website. I really appreciate the help she has given me. Now for the exciting part of choosing details of the wedding. I'm sure Ionian will continue to be very helpful.

Feb 21,2022I’ve recently booked my wedding through Ionian weddings and I feel so relaxed and confident everything will be perfect! I had Jane throughout my quoting/booking experience who was so lovely, happy to help, raised many ideas and was very patient as I asked for a very high number of quotes in many destinations. When we finally made up our mind Jane continued the amazing service once booked and we paid the deposit. The response time on emails is very fast and whenever I need a phone call Jane will always arrange a time as soon as she is free. I had numerous wedding planners quoting myself throughout my quoting experience however this was only to see if I could get a better price, in the end Ionian won on service and price. - If you’re thinking of booking a wedding through Ionian, I definitely would recommend the company and to speak with Jane.

We knew where and when we wanted to get married and nothing was ever too much trouble for Pat to arrange - she has honestly been a God send! I have been a bridezilla with all of my questions and Pat has always helped calm me down and had answers to all my questions, she has completely taken all the stress out of planning my wedding and I cant thank her enough.

After we had filled in the wedding questionnaire online we were shortly contacted by a lady named Pat who was extremely helpful and friendly. Communication was never an issue and she made the time on a weekend to schedule a call with us and tell us through our options based on our preferences on the questionnaire. Amazing customer service so far and cannot wait to build our dream wedding with their excellent team.

Jan 02,2022We had our wedding in September 2021 in Santorini. Had I have known how poor the service at Ionian would be, I would have just booked the venue and all suppliers myself to save myself the stress and money/time wasted. Our planner who was based in the UK was worked 2 hours between Monday - Thursday. Covid had half of their staff furloughed which I sympathise but they hadn’t informed us upon booking, and this half service was not reflected in the price either, but definitely reflected in the service level. It took hundreds of emails to get a simple response, and when I chased I was told my wedding wasn’t a priority as it was still 6 months away, and that people only start the ‘real planning’ 4 months before the wedding date. It was just ridiculous. The planner in Santorini was great which is the only reason I haven’t given 1 star. She was informative and helpful - but she had clearly not been given all the details by the main planner as there were so many inconsistencies and misinformation throughout the process. On the wedding day our cake was an absolute disaster - it was not at all what it looked like in their catalogue. It honestly looked like a child with obstructed sight made it while sleepwalking. This cake was almost £500 and they pushed me to order a cake stand, they told me only two were available - both over £50 then on the day they gave us a cheap wooden one that they said they couldn’t even use as it was too windy. They refunded me for both after I made a complaint, however the traditional wedding cake pictures will never be used as the cake was that embarrassing. A refund isn’t enough to make up for that. We had booked the time from 3pm - 12am and was only made aware at the pre wedding meeting that from 11pm the music would be lowered, as it was actually illegal at the time to have parties and gatherings due to covid, but that as the venue was private it ‘should be ok providing no police drives past..’. We were also not allowed to pick our own DJ which would have been fine had wr had been allowed to speak to the DJ or hear some of his demos, but it seemed the DJ was more protected than the prime minister and no one could even pass a message onto him. I was told by Ionian that this ‘normal and other couples are fine with this’ - which really isn’t helpful. Luckily, I called the venue directly and managed to get in touch so it wasn’t as impossible as Ionian made it out to be. Also it’s now been 3 months since our wedding and we’ve still not received our marriage certificate. We were told to pay more to have the solicitor come to us in Santorini, and to pay and get it translated as it would be easier and faster than to do it later, 3 months on and I’ve had to chase 3 times for it. Every time I contact Ionian it just so happens that it JUST arrived in their office and they’re JUST about to post it etc but still…. We don’t have it, which leads me to believe like everything else they just don’t care. I never leave bad reviews, especially not a long essay but honestly there aren’t enough words to describe the disappointment I have in Ionian. I chose them because they advertised ‘booking with confidence’ and seemed to be professional and take pride in making life easier, not telling brides that their wedding isn’t a priority because it’s later in the year. So just to sum up… I do not recommend Ionian for your big day, a total rip off.

Nov 28,2021If your thinking of getting married abroad book with Ionian! From start to finish the team were absolutely amazing! Patricia helped us with our venue and the initial booking stages and was very patient whilst we change chopped and changed counties venues etc ! We then got our planner Rachel and wow this lady kept me sane through the entire process especially the uncertainty during covid! We got married at Dana Villas in Santorini which was absolutely breathtaking, the Ionian reps in Santorini were all wonderful and it went absolutely amazingly! We got the wedding of our dreams by using Ionian, they are so efficient and knowledgeable in this field which is vital! I would highly recommend them to anyone ! Getting married abroad doesn't need to be difficult if you use Ionian they are there with you the entire process and keep you informed of when paperwork and other decisions need to be made! I wanted a fairly simple but romantic wedding and they made it happen! Whatever you Invision for your day they respect and make it happen ! Nov 10,2021I would highly recommend Ionian weddings for planning your dream wedding. We always knew we wanted to get married abroad but hadn't decided where. From the start Ionian weddings were great at helping us decide based on our vision for our dream day and sent over packages that would suit our dream. We decided on Portugal and had the most amazing day in a dream location Communication has always been amazing and emails always responded to the same day or day after. Maria was amazing from start to finish answering all our questions , emails, requests and being great support throughout covid. We did have to change our wedding date which was all taken care of and done with no hassle or stress. The wedding planner in Portugal Marta was also so wonderful to work with and very professional and went the extra mile to make our dream day happen as planned. Even buying cufflinks for my brother on the day which he had forgot and being persistent to make our outdoor ceremony happen despite the on off rain showers. You can't guarantee the weather anywhere apparently. I sent Pinterest photos for my flowers and was provided exactly what I wanted on the day. The legal parts of the ceremony were also taken care of which we would have had no clue what to organise being abroad. We also had the ceremony in English instead of Portuguese which was brilliant. Overall very happy we planned our wedding with this company.

May 23,2022The service provided by this company was appalling and we were mislead from the very start. We booked a package on the basis of 20 people priced at £5,300. I pressed the agent on clarity regarding costs to ensure this was the total price. We were offered no support following the booking despite asking to have guidance. When we were unable to book into the registry office as they were closed to get our certificate of non-impediment, we were told that the company could not guarantee paperwork would be processed. When we were unable to fly due to the pandemic they would not allow us the option of a refund. Instead tried to charge us £250 to change the date despite the fact it was not legal to fly, and the flights were cancelled. When we finally spoke to an agent in January 2022 we discovered that the package would now cost £6,300 an increase of £1000 and they had added the £250 change fee which was subsequently removed after a complaint was made. In addition, we were told that we had been booked into a hall for 30 - 60 people (not at our request) we only booked a package for 20. We were advised at this point if we would have to pay for another 15 meals around £1665 an increase of £2715. By this time we had no faith whatsoever in this company and asked for a refund. they then advised they would pay for the meals but due to the stress and lack of confidence in the company we said we wanted a refund. They refused to refund us and claimed they had paid the money from the deposit to the venue we have never had proof this is the case. I would warn against using this company
