I do not like the fact that prices increase several times a year. I do get my senior discount, but last month my rate jumped to a $31 increase. In February it had already increased by $28. That's almost a $60 increase in 6 months. I called the office and spoke with a very nice person who was very helpful. She decreased my payment by $10. Other than the increase, I'm quite satisfied with my unit.

This company is using a loop hole to double the rental price every 3 months. I noticed the double price on bank statement. Called company immediately, and asked why the price doubled and why I wasn’t informed. The answer I got first was”oh no” “let’s take a look”. Next comment; We as in “the company “take a storage market evaluation. Stating that a computer does this evaluation on space used. I said, I take out more then I put in. Also I asked why the Price point, if that’s not what the price is? Also why I wasn’t informed? Answer; we sent a letter to your prior address, (where I am not living.) and by Law, the company has to use the US postal service, instead of the form of communication we all use (email). So No email sent.Prior week I noticed many (5) tags on units representing non/ payment. Why is this I wondered? Now I know! This company is ripping people off, using the loop hole that it’s in the contract! I want everyone to know what sleazy business practices this company is using, too many people have to give up the items they work hard to keep. We have stop letting companies like this use false pretenses.

I just got another 20.00 increase for my 5 x 10 unit. This is the third consecutive year of a 20.00 increase. The staff that works at my life storage are great but the company itself sucks. I will be exploring other companies. I simply do not understand companies who care less about their customers and more about the dollar.

We had a travel trailer stored at a location in Las Vegas, we dropped it off on May 27 and returned June 15 to pick it up for an anniversary trip, it had been stolen. We reported it to the office and had absolutely zero sympathy or concern for our situation. We were told they would investigate the cameras and call us on Monday. We had no call, after 4 days I called the location and was told it had been taken June 2! No one notified us that it was missing and there was no assistance or information regarding the theft. I asked if we could possibly get a credit since we had paid for the month already and were told we’d have to talk to the manager, who has yet to call us. I will not return to this company.

They (and their parent company extra storage) have known since at least April 2023 that the climate control was broken in my building (and another one in town) and failed to notify us, failed to fix it (May 1, 2024 these are now owned by Devon Storage who is also failing to fix it despite being brought to their attention with proof), charged us for climate control and increased our rent of the units. DO NOT USE if you are renting climate control because if it breaks they will not let you know nor do they fix it.

Life Storage - Tarpon Springs Ownership, Upon arriving at my son's storage unit Thursday, April 18th, I was greeted by the unit owners on the left. I was questioned if I am new or already established. I stated, Today I am moving out my son as he has bought a house, and we are here to clean the storage unit out. She was devastated to tell me of the news there had been a rat infestation and was confused why we were not informed as they had reported this infestation to the front office more than 30 days ago letting the front office know they had seen live rats running into our unit!! Why were we never informed of this situation? Why was there never a phone picked up or an email sent? Why am I just finding out this information the day that we were to move my sons whole house out of this unit. Our unit neighbor stated they told the front office but whomever was at the front desk at the time mentioned "that unit is military". Please note that sharing his unit is military personnel to another customer is invading privacy, protection, and personal security. IF we were informed more then 30 days ago, we would have had all his valuables, brand new furniture and sentimental items that were held in this unit. I am making a Standard of Level of Care Claim and reporting this matter to you as this is a result of gross negligence. By Law - Gross negligence is a lack of care that demonstrates reckless disregard for the safety or lives of others, which is so great it appears to be a conscious violation of other people's rights to safety. You were informed of this situation for an ample amount of time, and nothing was done. You have violated the safety of our wellbeing by walking into this atmosphere. Gross negligence is a heightened degree of negligence representing an extreme departure from the ordinary standard of care. Falling between intent to do wrongful harm and ordinary negligence, gross negligence is defined as willful, wanton, and reckless conduct affecting the life or property or another. You have affected more than just the property held within your units; you have created a catastrophic event on how much value is lost with this kind of damage. You were reported to, and no action was undertaken. Ownership is conducting business with such conscious disregard and knowledge of existing circumstances and conditions. Four Months ago, you had more who submit claims about this, you have reviews explaining rodent infestation, and much more others are sharing the news of this matter. Upon my son and fiancé arriving to take what they thought would be their whole house of furniture and valuables, we had to instead clean up fecal matter, dead rodents, and document this case. Being exposed to this scene was unbearable. Per the CDC - "Rats and mice are associated with a number of health risks. In fact, rats and mice are known to spread more than 35 diseases. These diseases can be spread to humans directly through handling of live or dead rodents, contact with rodent feces, urine, or saliva. The smell of a dead rat can be harmful to a person's health due to the toxic gases and microscopic compounds of the dead animal that are constantly being released into the indoor air. These gases permeate into the respiratory tract and can potentially cause illness." Documentation and Reporting: Thursday, April 18th 2024 The excitement and moment for my child on buying a house and moving in was ripped away. That Thursday should not have been the day we found out about this infestation. That Thursday should not have been hours and hours spent cleaning up a mess that you and your team should have never let get to this extent. Friday, April 19th 2024 I drove back to Life Storage - Tarpon Springs . I then received contact information of your staff District Manager David Ticich, Stuart Sanders Senior District Manager David Stafford, I urge you to take immediate action to address the disrespectful treatment of tenants by your management tear. As the owner of Life Storage, it is your responsibility to ensure that your business operates with integrity and compassion towards its customers. I trust that you will take the necessary steps to address these concerns and restore the trust and confidence of your tenants. One aspect of fulfilling this duty is maintaining open lines of communication with tenants. Your previous communications have included the statement, "If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office at 727-428-6556 or visit us in-store." This statement serves as a reminder of the accessibility of your office for addressing tenant inquiries and issues. However, recent experiences have highlighted a discrepancy between this stated commitment and the actual responsiveness of Life Storage to tenant concerns. It is crucial to uphold this commitment

Believe ALL the 1 stars...all facts! I was asked to leave a 5star review and thought the reps were friendly. They could give a $hit about you. Get you in their units and 2 months later double your prices. Paying 233$ for 10x20 but on website 10x20 is 146$...its a business and that how I will treat them and that place from now on! So if you are using them beware and if you're looking find better.

I've had a rental unit with this company for about 4 months now. When I first rented it, the women Delores tried to get me to leave a 5-star review. Literally, right there and then. I thought this was strange as i literally just paid and never even saw the unit. How can I give a review before I even received their services? Here is the reason for my negative rating. I chose this place mainly because it was the cheapest I could find, relatively close to my home at $45 a month for a 5x10 unit. I just received a notice from my bank saying my credit card is over limit. When I checked the transactions, I saw this place is charging me $79! Keep in mind this is their smallest unit, and I've had it for about 90 days now. I called in to complain, sure it was some kind of mistake. Nope. Delores claimed to have emailed me explaining this new rate hike. I checked and there was no email. Idk about you people but to my knowledge emails don't get lost. Here's the kicker. After a brief internet search, their website is still advertising $45 for the same unit, and it seems these rate hikes are common practice amongst this company. Annoyed because this info never came up when I first looked online for storage 4-ish months ago. Now I need to move everything because I can not afford $80 a month. $45 to $80 is almost a 100% increase and absolutely ridiculous for a 50 square ft storage. I will be looking for a new place to store my stuff. Avoid these people like the plague. They are crooks!

This company has no soul. They lure you in with a low monthly rate and continue to jack up the price due to market conditions. $61 a month to $191 a month starting in July 2024. Stay away.

Life Storage is a scam. Price gouging fraud. Dirty, bug-ridden, dark, and damp. My rent went from $285 - $416 within a yr. The first 3 months it jumped from $285 - $336. They hide the rate change notices in “chang of address” mail. Sneaky, deceptive - fraud.

beware of misleading deals I rented a 10x20 unit today online. when I arrived, they took me to a 10x10 unit. when I questioned the size, the attendant said "ok well just use this other 10x10 next to it. I told her that I wanted the 10x20 because that is what I ordered. she called the manager and was told that they did have a 10x20 but it was on the first floor, and I would have to pay an extra $75 of I wanted that one. When I challenged the attendant in the office I was verbally assaulted by a man who appeared to be her father who was hanging around in the office.

I've had a this unit with them since September of 2019 I was paying $65. Its doubled in last 2 years $131. Never missed a payment. I shut off automatic payments several months ago because I lost my wallet. Forgot to pay this month. Got a phone call 3 days after do date, Meant to pay it but slipped my mind. Instead of getting a text or another reminder call, I Got a nasty default letter dated 5 days after due date charging $21 late fee. I can understand if I was consistantly late or was over 2 weeks late. But 5 days!! I haven't been to the unit in over 8 months. I've decided to junk it all in the next couple of months. Paul D

Suckered me in at a $41 price + insurance. I specifically asked if it was a promotional deal and was told, "Oh no, that's the regular price". What a crock! Received a price increase notice in less than 2 months increasing the price from $41 to $83+insurance, more than double!!. Thank goodness I don't have too much to move because I will be moving.

Low online prices are a scam. Been in there a couple months and jacked up price with a massive increase. Almost double. Once you move in they can charge you anything they want. This is why they don't do contracts. So they cam bait you in and then rip you off.
