The people who run the LifeStorage at Liverpool NY sold our items without sending any notices for payment, without waiting 30 days, or following any of the laws regarding personal storage units for NY, we are in the process of taking legal action but the chances of getting our stolen things back or little to none, as most of the sentimental things were thrown away. We are looking for lost items on Craigslist and Facebook market. If read by any officials I suggest you fire and investigate your Liverpool NY Branch.
Mr. Casey Robinson the customer service representative at Life Storage 7700 Jonesboro rd Jonesboro Ga 30236 gave an amazing experience. I highly recommend him as he has excellent customer service exceeding my expectations every time I visit my storage unit at this location. I was completely expressed with his professionalism and customer service
Rent increased by 33% year to year without prior notice.
The site we used in Florida was very clean, the staff had excellent manners. The reason for leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the toilets were always closed. Bearing in mind there are approximately 500 units at this site, yet only 2 trolleys. Hence, with more than three people wanting to load/unload - its a problem.
Wonderful staff Clean facilities Jared was very helpful with all my questions
I began renting here in June 2023 and they've raised the price twice (more than a 27 percent increase) within two months! They know you are stuck as you would have to move all of your things out. A rip-off for long-term storage for sure! They clearly do not value their customers!
My husband got a unit about three months ago and it has already increased in price from $134 to $195. He went to the office and was told this was no mistake, but just that corporate re-evaluates the prices every four months and decides what to charge and you are stuck with it. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU WILL END UP PAYING!!!!
READ BEFORE YOU RENT!!! READ BEFORE YOU RENT!!! Life Storage / Extra Space Storage 7835 W Sam Houston Pkwy N, Houston, TX 77040 My rent went up just after a buyout of Life Storage in Jersey Village TX. 154.00 to 234.00 a 51.94% increase. I have only been with them 4-5 months and have been complaining about the climate system not working for 3 months now on 2nd floor!!! I have shown them pictures of the thermostat in my space several times and now the rate change. Its hard moving everything and now I feel stuck with them. Please BEWARE before you rent a space here. Date of experience: October 10, 2023
They offer these cheap units but within 3-6 months your unit will be raised up. I started at $55 + $14 insurance then went up to $80+ and within 6 months my storage unit went up to $103. Yesterday, I received notification that my unit amount will be $183 ($169 for the unit and $14 for the insurance). My unit by the way is a 10 x 10. I called the Manager, Danielle at the Market location she said she had a customer and will call me back but she never did. I'm done with this place. Extra space storage bought this storage unit and they are notorious for raising their prices constantly. If you are looking for a storage place and you see their units, really nice and clean but you need to think twice because the prices they are offering now seems to be so cheap and 3 months after you put all your things there, your payment will suddenly go up.
Financial predators. I rented a small unit in April 2023 for $95 a month and last month, Extrastorage apparently bought LifeStorage; on the first month, they increased the rent to $202 without making any improvements.
Was so easy to get storage with this company . Miss Lisa Gorman was very helpful and kind
The move in was fast and not complicated. The price for a 5x7 was $94.44 including mandatory insurance. However, after 4 months the price went up 81% to $172.22 a month, what? Nothing changed but the price so, I chose another facility. Moving out was a hassle due to the management not wanting to check the unit, and specifying the move out date a day later. I strongly recommend researching the storage facility for customer reviews BEFORE renting a unit. Overall, Life Storage is clean and safe for rental but, they are greedy beyond understanding. Nuff said.
Life Storage on 4750 Scarlett Dr Colorado Springs is the worst storage unit company I have ever encountered. If I could give ZERO stars I would. After paying for what we thought was a “secure” unit for over a year, we found out in June that our ENTIRE storage unit was broken into & robbed. They claimed that due to the heavy rains & storms we experienced in May/June that it caused a power surge and ALL of their cameras had been down for months and that they had no video footage to help the police investigate the robbery. Apparently, the general manager had found our unit with our lock broken off and drill shavings through the unit door up to two months BEFORE we were notified that it had been broken into. They never called us, or anything. We literally found out our unit had been wiped out when we randomly decided to stop by the storage to get some of our camera equipment to take new profesional headshots. Life Storage claims that robbers came in through the top (literally have no clue how any of this could have happened) cut through the wire and drilled out of our unit taking everything on dolly’s & crates. They claimed that up to 8 other units were hit and possibly even more. Every person I’ve explained this too says it sounds like an inside job by the storage company. The general manager who found our unit unsecure and never notified us was apparently fired before we found out about our storage unit for doing “illegal things” and “forging signatures”. Anything of value, all of our electronics, EVERYTHING was stolen. All the furniture we had that wasn’t stolen was damaged, boxes of tax documents and personal information were dumped everywhere and clearly gone through. We found food and bags of syringes in the unit indicating that actual crackheads had been in our unit multiple times going through our sensitive tax documents and personal information with absolutely no protection from LIFE Storage. Life storage has treated us completely terrible through this entire process and even proceeded to raise our storage cost a month after we found out our storage unit had been robbed. When my husband called to cancel our unit the lady literally hung up on him and he had to go in to try and cancel our unit. It’s September 10th & We still do NOT have resolution or even one reimbursement from USAA, our insurance company and are missing all of our valuable personal property. This has been such a nightmare… I don’t even have the words. If you value your property at all DO NOT USE LIFE STORAGE.
I wanna thank Jennifer at Life storage so much for making my moving day easier she was so helpful!
Who in the hell is giving these CROOKS a good review. Rented a 10 x 15 in Greenville SC April 22, June went to $193 (35%) increase. Just got a notice that it just went to $246 Aug 23. Another 25%. These people are Crooks!! That is a 72% increase from April 22, to Aug 23. Run from these crooks!!!
I gave Life Storage, located at 10429 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA 23605, my 30-day notice of my vacating the storage. In fact, I gave them a 36-day notice. However, they deactivated my PIN well before my payment became due. I moved because when I first rented the storage 14 months ago, it was $50. They kept increasing my rent almost every other month. By the time I vacated the storage, my rent was $170. When I went to clear out my storage, all of my items had rodent poop EVERYWHERE!!! My sofa, bedroom dresser, headboard, mattress, bar stool, bar stool chairs, computer desk, office chair, 4 pairs of sneakers, 75-inch TV, clothes, etc. were literally destroyed by rodent poop. I had to throw all of those things away. My 75-inch TV was destroyed. Besides the rat poop. I'm guessing the rats had urinated on the TV because it would not turn on. The rat poop was so bad, it stained everything. Worse, Life Storage CLAIMED to be climate control, but what rat poop didn't destroy, the mold did. The smell was horrible and made my brother, mom's boyfriend, and me vomit. It smelled like death! I couldn't believe how bad it smelled and how damaged my belongings were in a unit that was supposed to be climate controlled. Anyway, I savaged some clothes, but I had to throw everything else away. I threw away all the items damaged beyond repair. I had insurance I purchased through Life Storage and took pictures of everything. Furthermore, I also paid my last month's payment. Shockingly, the insurance company denied my claim because one of the totes had a bottle of lotion in it. The lotion bottle was intact too! In fact, the tote the lotion was in was one of the only 2 totes I was able to salvage! The lotion did not spill or leak on anything, but the insurance company claimed because it was a liquid, my claim was denied. I got out as much stuff as I could the day I went there. We had to leave a couple of bags because Life Storage was closing. I closed the storage up and locked it. Even though I had already submitted my notice, I figured since I was paid up, it would be okay for me to return to get the 2 bags in a couple of days. When I returned, my PIN did not work. I called the office repeatedly during business hours and no one answered. My mom went there twice during business hours, and they were closed. All the calls and visits occurred over the course of a week. When I finally got someone on the phone, the male was hostile and extremely disrespectful. The male I spoke to hung up on me. So, the frenzy of calls started again. I was finally able to speak to a female. She wasn't as hostile as the first person I spoke to, but just as UNHELPFUL. She told me I had to get the lock off the unit and they (Life Storage) would continue to charge me until I did so. I told her my mom would be there to get the lock off the unit the following day. When my mom went to get the lock off the unit the next day, she learned my PIN had been deactivated! For several days, I called multiple times and my mom went to the office at least 3 times on separate days. All calls and visits were during business hours. My mom went twice on a Saturday and the other 2 times on a weekday. Fast-forward to today, Life Storage mailed a total of 6 letters saying I am in default! 3 of the letters were addressed to my mom. When my mom opened the letters, they had my bill information in them. My mom NEVER spoke to them and never gave them her information. My mom did NOT rent the unit with me and NEVER paid the bill. I only gave Life Storage her name so that when she went there to get the lock off the unit, they would know who she was. Those people literally sent letters to my mom for me. If I could, I would give that garbage place negative stars! I plan to look into their illegal debt collection practices. Also, Life Storage, located at 10429 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA 23605, lies about climate control! They have a rat infestation!
The team was wonderful. I was in and out within a 15-20 minutes. They walked me through the process to confirm that my access code worked on the gate and the building. We opened the unit and then locked it with the lock that i purchased.
I went off the good reviews given & would like to save someone else by giving my honest experience If you plan to leave your items long term, please beware. I lost over $4000 worth of items due to rat infestation. I initially asked were there rats at this location & was told no. Staff acts like this is a first time incident when brought to their attention, but come to find out this is a major problem at this facility. Insurance does not cover large sums due to vermin so I was only given back $400 of what I lost after having to replace everything. I wouldn’t chance it.(Old National Hwy Location)
Nick at store number 833 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, goes over, and above every single time I interact with him! I’m so grateful for his help and his advice! I love the flexibility of being able to rent online which really helped me out in finding out I needed an outdoor storage unit! They took care of everything that needed to be done and i could settle in right away. Even when I had trouble with the auto pay set up, Nic took care of business. Thank you.
