fyi if you deal with a Cory in Pawtucket RI watch out he took a cash payment and bank payment for the same month in January of 2024 and denied it. Very shady go through Tyler

It was a great experience with this company until the third month when they increased the price unexpectedly. I would not recommend this company if you plan to use their services for multiple months. It seems that the customers have to proactively call and negotiate before the due date to avoid additional charges. It is a big scam!!

I am LIVID with this company! I have been trying to call them for two months, have emailed them 4 times due to a DOUBLE rate increase with no notice and have been charged $300 more dollars than what was in my contract. The contract clearly states the company must give you a notice before the increase and they have been scamming and stealing money. I have been trying to reach them for a refund and explanation until I can move my things out of this HORRIBLE company. I would never recommend this to anyone, the scam and lack of customer service is horrendous and disappointing. I have friends and family who have been interested in storage units and told them to STAY AWAY from LifeStorage.

Thank you very much for the services provided, I left because of the problem I had with a woman who works with you and also because I got a better price for the same 5 × 5 at $57 dollars per month with what I pay with you for 1 month there I pay almost 3 months secure self storage queens 75 28 queens bldv elmhurts ny 11373 here it is much cheaper and better service

The storage facility is clean and well-maintained. However, they increased our rate for a 10x10 unit from $60 to $91 with no prior notice. This is a poor business practice and makes budgeting impossible.

Total bait and switch operation, but apparently most or all self-storage companies are. I rented a unit at $137 monthly, and after only two months received a card in the mail notifying me my rent would be increased to $204 starting the fourth month. A 50% increase. Today online they are offering the same size unit for $151. "Market adjustment", my foot. I'm lucky I had another option for my stuff and moved out before my rent increase. I notified the site office by phone a couple weeks prior and when I showed up to move out they had changed my gate code by switching the last digit, creating a situation where I would have to be there during office hours to talk to someone about entry. I was current in my account so no honest reason to change my gate code. Silly company, you lost a customer. I would have paid the $151 but now you have an empty unit because of your predatory practices and shady dealing (changing my gate code), and a consumer who will tell everyone about it. Personnel were respectful. Site was very clean.

So... I have been with them a long time. I put things on autopay. Suddenly got a tiny postcard in the mail doubling my rate. Said it was due to the market and so on. I fell for it. Now I look and see the same size and type unit at the same location is one sixth of the rent I am paying. I could save 85% by renting another unit at the same location and then moving my stuff down the hall. Why?

If you don't want your items damaged & don't want to be over charged PLEASE don't rent units from this company they full of crap & only out for the money. Example I been with this company since they took over for extra storage i was moved to another location without knowing because of a flood the insurance company they was with didn't want to pay us for the damages, the moving company they hired broke & took some of my thing I reported it to the company still haven't heard anything. The new location flooded & they wasn't going to inform any of the customers just so happen I stop by the day of & was told apon arrival. They increased the price in December to 121 now they increasing it again to almost $200 is crazy

This Storage is old and very Dirty. Elevators often don't work well. Many times tenants get stuck in the Elevators and have to call 911 for Help !!! However the prices are increased ridiculously high, both in rent as well as insurance. The tenants are being ripped off !!! Stay away from them, now owned by Extra Space

i was unable to pay online, and my unit was given away. if I am able to book a satisfactory unit tomorrow, I will change my rating. Right now, i am very frustrated!! their website error should not be my inconvenience. UPDATE: manager of unit gave my unit away the day my payment was due - so not super happy about that! however, she did find a similar unit and got that assigned. I need to go visit it later. but am trusting the area will work similar to the one i had that got assigned to someone else. This manager has overall been very good to work with, and I do know that they are super busy!

Very disappointed: was initial quite happy with the facility (St. Pete FL on 94th Ave N), but mgmt fails to tell you that after 3 months they automatically raise/double the cost of your storage unit. Have already given up one unit and will most likely give up our last one. LS needs to be more transparent with pricing. Other storage places do not double prices after you move in.

I have a unit at Life Storage's location at 19400 S Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers, FL 33908. Margaret, the manager, has helped keep my personal belongings safe and secure. She has been there for me through the worst year of my life. I couldn't be more grateful for her compassion, professionalism and assistance. I highly recommend storing what matters most to you at Margaret's Life Storage in South Fort Myers, FL.

I find it Ironic that Life Storage in Wildomar Ca, or in General will Continually raise rates. Currently I am at $402 Per month for a 10 x 20. I can open a new unit as of today for $170. You'd think being a long time customer would matter but not to them. Sarah the Mgr. just don't Care

Signed up for storage on October 7, 2023 and received notice that rent was going up 41% in February 2024. Spoke to person at site and it was reduced but is still a 25% increase. My husband and I questioned the rate when we signed on, and we were told about the increase in three months, but we were assured it would be put back to the signed on rate. Not a very reputable business.

The customer relationship skills-sets of the manager at the Middletown, NY location were respectful, thoughtful, and valuable based on her professional demeanor. Expressly how she responded to the queries, and facilitated a meaningful discussion while updating the customer's information on the organization's platform.

We moved into our unit less than three months ago. When we did, I asked how often they raised their rent because customers had complained about it. I was told prices very rarely increased. Less than three months later, we were notified that they were increasing our rent by more than 60 percent. So much for honesty!

In the 2 years Ive had a unit at Barker Cypress location in Cypress, this location has always had excellent customer service and facility was excellent in comparison to others in area as far as prices, security, access hours, etc. Since they have merged with Extra Spaces. . Prices surged to 40 dollars plus with no notifications of price hike and an additional 12 dollars monthly in insurance effective January 2024. I have a 10x10 unit paid 145./month, now at 187./month with increase again come January with new insurance company. Looking into a NEW storage facility, most people can deal with 10 to 15 dollar increase but 40-50 dollars with no prior notice. Carla, current manager always least 1 month prior notice on any change by mail and email and followed by reminder call on due date. Kudos to Carla for her excellent customer service at Life Storage. No kudos to Extra Spaces.

I rented a smaller unit for 1 year and started 2nd year of rent in a larger unit at 2300 Broadway in San Antonio, Texas. Great office staff yet giving this business such a low rating due to 1) Poor security - there was a mass burglary and my unit was affected due to the fact that there was nobody at the property on Sunday (they should probably have somebody there all the time) and, most importantly, the neighboring empty unit was not locked so the criminals used it to get into my unit. 2) Poor customer service by the management team - I have been fighting to get my credit from the previous unit to be transferred to my new account for months. The office staff send over the details and nothing happens. Life storage was purchased by the Extra Space and a lot of accounts got messed up in terms of credits, payments, and other details. Yes, I know that when you rent there you sign that "all personal property stored within or upon the storage space by customer shall be at customer's sole risk"; however one would hope that there is better security and proper criminal record checks on new renters who get access to the facility.

At first the experience went well. I chose them because they had a promotional price that I could afford. Then a few months later they raised my price by $20 because "Research has shown that local pricing has increased so we increased your price" So basically they don't actually keep themselves to the contract pricing they set. They can change your price at will without informing you and it's perfectly fine because its considered a month to month contract. I definitely won't recommend them to anyone anymore.
