When we first had Lit Fibre installed it was the best internet we have ever had. We pay for 1000Mbs and was getting almost that amount. We already knew that you will never receive the maximum amount of broadband unless you are plugged into the router using a Cat 8 Ethernet cable and so through Wi-fi we were getting around 600mbs. Just like every other broadband provider, after 6 months our broadband speed slowly started to get slower and slower. It almost feels like they wait for you to recommend their company to all your friends and family and write a positive Trustpoilet review before eventually slowing your speeds down. Thankfully I refused to take the 2 year contract with them and instead took the 18 months option. This is because we have been ripped off by so many companies before that I now distrust all providers. I contacted Lit they told me that it was our extender causing the trouble, even though we had it for months with no trouble. So we no longer use the extender and our speeds are still pathetic! I’ve contacted Lit numerous times and I always get the same BS, “We’ve tested your internet from our end and everything is fine!”. I don’t care how the internet looks from your end, it only matters how the internet is performing on our end! At the beginning I recommended this internet to our neighbours, they have recently had it installed. I’m going to explain to them no longer recommend this company and hopefully they should be well within the cancellation period. Some days it can take 15 seconds to load a basic web page on Amazon. Think very carefully before entering into a contract of doom with this company. Thankfully, Openreach have finally installed the required infrastructure for our street to finally receive 1000Mbs broadband from other providers. I am recording broadband speed test and taking screen shots too for future reference in case I have to take legal action to leave this company and break free of the contract. Edit - 27/12/2024. I initially wrote this review on the 11th of December 2024. On the same day Lit phoned me to “Try and resolve the problem” which was code for “We’re going to get you to do all the work an engineer should be doing”. Sorry, I don’t remember being a Lit employee! However, I did all of the many things I was asked to do, including checking all the cables were fitted tightly into the sockets and checking the speeds of uploads and downloads with numerous online speed checkers. Then we were told that we would be sent a Wifi extender for free to try. We knew the lack of an extender was not the problem but we agreed to try it anyway. After the extender arrived on the 17th of December and we followed the instructions over the phone on how to fit it. It did give us a little better coverage but the speeds were still the same. So, after changing the Ethernet cable, kicking all devices but one off the router and checking the speeds numerous times once again, the speeds unchanged. On the 19th of December a new router arrived. We followed the instructions over the phone and fitted the router. After checking all of the cables to make sure they were not loose, then trying numerous speed tests, the speeds remained the same. We were told that the speed reached 900+mb from their end, but that isn’t of any use to us if we can’t access those sorts of speeds! After being told over the phone “I’m not sure what else we can try” I suggested “How about you send an engineer out?” to which we were eventually replied with “errrrm well . . . . we would have to contact City Fibre and they would want to send one of their engineers and that couldn’t happen until tomorrow or maybe Monday”. Tomorrow would have been the Friday the 20th of December, Monday would have been the 23rd of December. It is now the 27th of December and all communication has stopped. I appreciate, it was close to Christmas, but if an engineer would have been sent out when we first reported problems way back in September this would have been resolved a long time ago. I am now collecting speed test data, and if this problem is not sorted very soon I will be making a video and posting on Youtube and all other social media platforms warning people that the support from Lit does not exist and that you have more chance of seeing Father Christmas than an engineer from Lit. I am not on your payroll LIT, I shouldn’t have to become an engineer to fix the things YOU should be fixing!
Alex and the technical support team were superb and quickly got to the bottom of the issue and solved it. A completely different experience compared to BT.

Alex made my termination of contract simple and even sent a dpd label to send router back. Would highly recommend LIT fibre and have only left as not available in new home. LIT waived all termination charges due to this and I will switch back to them when they roll out their service in the area I now live.
I Spoke with a gentleman by the name Of Lenny on the 11th of December who gave me excellent costumer service. He also explained later in the call he was having a bad day but that did not fault his customer service. He went above and beyond. Even though he couldn't accomplish what i needed he offered other solutions. We definitely need more people like him. Thanks Lenny I hope this reaches you.
Firstly, a pretty much faultless and speedy service over the last 2 years, great customer service too. Secondly, offering a nice renewal deal for another 2 years was very welcome. And finally, being able to renew with a quick reply to an email was so simple. Keep it up guys and have a lovely Christmas!
I can't renew my contract from the email that was sent or in the portal. You've even got a typo in your survey email.
Been without WiFi for a week now. Lit have been great but recently bought out by city fibres and we have issues with both router and fibre box after recent update which has apparently been a disaster. All promises and 2boxes later still waiting for an engineer who never comes.
The technician was excellent and patient with me and explained everything and got me up and running in no time
