First and last visit to merityre Witney today shocking customer service, went for simple puncture repair and the guy says it is not repairable and has a split in it ( new tyre needed) I say I need to see it as from my own experience of tyres /repair /fitting (10+ years) it looked a simple repair job, the guy got funny with me instantly and drove my vehicle back out to the forecourt ignoring me to deal with another customer, forcing me to interrupt this to regain his attention, I questioned the so called split in the tyre and the reason it could not be repaired and got no reply, this got my blood boiling and heated words were exchanged, the tyre was never removed and checked only glanced at and is within the boundaries of repair, I will be taking the wheel to a Michelin approved specialist for a professional check before I contact trading standards, I don't make a habit of moaning and rarely do, I also don't have the time to waste on this matter but will do so to stop any rogue traders from ripping off good honest hard working people

My wife's convertible Streetka had front wishbones and drop links replaced by local mechanic who in turn took it to Little Chalfont branch for tracking and a new front tyre . On its return car veered dangerously to the right under acceleration and centralised when backing off the throttle .Denied replacing wishbones or tyre could cause the issue , i insisted at my expense the other front tyre was replaced to match. it was returned now driving badly , with the steering offset appx 20 degrees, but no longer veering dangerously !!!!! Returned to Merittyre for second tracking after i noticed the printout was for a KA ( ours is a streetka ) entirely different geometry. Collected by wife , drove home , I drove later that day , steering offset opposite direction and drives terribly. I now took car myself to Eds Treds , who i have used for many years , they tested on four wheel tracking and it was miles off , this after covering appx 20 miles in total. After they did the tracking it now drives beautifully as though on rails , no roll , no tyre squeal around roundabouts , and drives in a straight line with hands not touching steering wheel. Conclusion , they cant tell a rag top from a saloon and either their equipment has been mishandled and damaged , or is in the hands of unqualified technician unable to use it correctly. Avoid Chiltern tyre and exhaust specialist at all costs , especially as when i checked the trye pressures on the two identical new front tyres , one was set at 34 psi and the other 28 , when they should both be set at 29 psi , and I questioned this , excuse no.3 "the built in guage on the trye fitting tool is faulty" , GET IT REPLACED ! PS , i forgot to mention , first time returned wheel nuts were loose , excuse " someone else was supposed to have set the torque wrench "

The chaps at Merityre in ABINGDON are second to none. Lots of very poor service out there, especially from the bigger firms, but not here. Took my car for new tyres recently and was so impressed that I've since returned twice more. Only a shame they don't do MOT testing. Cannot speak for the company as a whole, but the staff at this branch are great.

a word of advise, take photos of wheels before you hand your car over to staff in case you will have your alloy wheel damaged like I had mine from puncture repair. I look after my alloys and know what they look like!!! Would have left zero stars for Woking branch, but no choice...

We needed a replacement tyre very quickly - Spoke to customer services at 8am & Sarah responded immediately, found a matching tyre at our local Marlow branch, booked us in & within 2 hours we were back on the road! That is what you call a great service & the technicians in Marlow were excellent - Thank you!

We have used Metityre before and was always happy with their service. However this time we needed new tyres prior to an MOT test. We decided to replace all 4 tyres at Merityre. When we went to our local MOT test centre (not merityre), the MOT tester was shocked, he told us the bearings had gone and the wheels were nearly falling off. He said if it had come off on the motorway we would all be dead. He showed my partner how severe the movement was and told him not to drive it home. He could not believe that we had just had tyres fitted less than 2 weeks before and said that it would of definitely been an issue then which should of been spotted by Merityre and we should of been advised of the danger then and there. When i contacted Merityre they refused to acknowledge any fault and i was told they aren't trained to look at bearings, and couldn't check these things on every car or they would be there too long. However as soon as the wheel is off the ground it flaps about.I cannot comprehend how a company can allow such poor service of a vehicle, and allow customers to leave their centre in danger. It was a serious failing on their part which could of cost us our lives. The situation was made worse by their lack of consideration and refusal to acknowledge their mistake. They refused to refund the cost of the tyres, which are now sitting on a right-off. The manager offered a gesture of goodwill in the form of a discount if we needed tyres/ work again. however how can they be trusted with our safety!! I will avoid these now, as will our family.

Excellent service from Barry and his colleagues at Merityre Hook. I have purchased tyres, had my tracking and alignment checked without any problems over a number of years. This man clearly knows his business as do his colleagues and staff; I would not hesitate to recommend. Finally, his prices are always competitive but it's the superior quality of the customer service that sets these guys apart.

My partner called the Witney branch yesterday morning and was quoted maximum £75 for all four wheels and about 45mins to do the tracking on his Honda Civic We arrived having been made aware it was first come first served. Left the car for over an hour with my contact phone number. On our return our civic was on the ramps with the alignment gear attached but nobody in free to talk to, so left for another half an hour. My partner returned again they showed him the tracking print out, to which they agreed just to adjust the front tyres and it would be a 15 min wait so he sat and waited in your reception. Then the mechanic came back out to say having slight problem with the track rod and it would be a bit of a wait. After being sat there for two hours without clear explanation of what was going on, to have a sarcastic comment made to him from a staff member behind the reception. "Is yours the civic, you have been sat there a while! Hope you have been saving your money mate", my partner asked what he meant. To be told that his car had been put on an hourly rate. No price given just told it's going to be well over £100. Not surprisingly my partner was unhappy and asked for an explanation to why it was going to be so much. He was told the track rod has ceased, whilst adjusting the tie rod the mechanic unwound it from the steering rack end by mistake. He said he couldn't give the car back as it was now unsafe to drive, they tried to put it back together. Before bringing the car to merityre the only thing it needed was the tracking doing and was perfectly safe to drive. My biggest objection is that no point did anybody phone us to discuss any issues discovered whilst we weren't on the premisses, nor did anyone discuss it in detail about rates with my partner whilst he sat in your reception for 2 hours. The customer services at the Witney branch are appalling. My partner said he wasn't willing to pay as the car only came in for the tracking, to which he was told he couldn't have his keys back. The rear tyres hadn't even been touched. Not getting anywhere my partner offered to give them £50 and call it a day. After some mediation by a mechanic who had the best customer services skill out of everyone there, we were told to take the keys with no charge but this certain mechanic would never work on my partners car again. We walked away annoyed but at least we weren't charged a ridiculous price for work that wasn't expected to be carried out. On driving the car home the tracking feels a lot worse and bordering on dangerous. I now need to take my car to another garage to get the work rectified merit tyres will not pay for the work, and we're happy to try and charge me for making my car worse after speaking to Arnold from head branch of merit tyres he has not tried to fix this problem so I am now going to have to go to trading standards. I'm just glad I did not take my car there for any complicated work as I would probably be left with a car I cannot drive.

I took my car in for tyres which came out cheaper than blackcircles and that aspoct of the work was fine, problem was they did the tracking on my car without even asking me if i wanted the work doing, my car was running great and true with no abnormal tyre, I compained about this and got a refund I took my car into a different merit a while later to get the other 2 tyres done and came out with my car with the steering about 20 decrees out from centre and with the front wheels toe'ing out resulting in the inners wearing out, i think they may have sorted payback for the complaint, either way i got a lot a lot of aggro when all was looking for was tyres!, I'll never go back to any merit again as there seems to be a problem there as both times I've been I've had problems

I won't be using Merityre again, I went in to get a tyre checked, not attached to vehicle. Not only did they carryout work I didnt ask for and charge me for it, they also charged me for filling my tyre with Nitrogen (again I didn't ask for this) when anybody with any knowlege about tyres knows this is a waste of money for normal road use and just a way for tyre fitters to make an easy quick buck (air is approx 80% nitrogen anyway), they didn't inflate the tyre to the correct tyre pressure meaning i had to top it up with normal air anyway. on top of this they also threw away my expensive chrome dustcap-and valve stem cover which will cost me £35 to replace. Poor service which cost me £24 + the cost of new valve stem covers and dust caps when bathwick tyres would do the same job for no charge and not loose parts I paid for

I have used Merityre in Abingdon for 12 years and never consider going elsewhere. My loyalty is based on their excellent customer service, quick and efficient work, but most of all because they treat me like a sensible customer. I trust their advice because I know it is based on a good understanding of their trade and that they want to see me and my wider family again. Highly recommended!

I took my car to Thame for its annual MOT - and it failed on a technicality! I had the windscreen replaced a couple of days prior to this appointment and in the process the hose from the windscreen reservoir came adrift from the pump. The upshot was that the car failed! The assistant manager went out of his way to engage a local workshop with the time to reconnect the pipes, and then slot my car in again so that I could gain the all important pass certificate. He went out of his way to help me out - which was very much appreciated.

Took a wheel there with a puncture and they fitted a new tyre when I collected it for my son thought it was strange that they hadn't pumped it up He fitted it to his bike and you could hear it hissing out Was reluctant to drive it over as sure as eggs are eggs they would say he had damaged it Took it off the bike and yet again I took it there Was told it needed a tube ( if you take a punctured tyre in don't they check that ?? ) Went back to collect and was told they couldn't get a tube so would repair old one I said I didn't want him driving on a repaired tube so they agreed to order one That was yet another trip ! It is now at least 3 weeks and still we wait for tube They say they will ring back but never do Very unprofessional company Once this is resolved if ever ! I would not be happy to return to them

I had a nail in my tyre and I took it to bagshot to get it repaired. I had a brand new car. One of the men got in without any seat cover. My tyre was repaired while they moaned about having to work Sunday. When I got home I had grease on my trousers and seat, I then checked my wheel and it had been damaged. As it was a bank holiday I took it back on the Tuesday to complain. I was told that the cloths were clean and I had kerbed the wheel on the drivers front wheel. Even though I told them I am a professional driver and had never kerbed a car or truck the said they were not liable. I got the email address of there manager who agreed to have my trousers cleaned but would not agree to repair my wheel. As a good will gesture he would get it repaired at cost price to me of £55. This is not cost price because other company's had quoted me the same price. After agreeing to pay for the wheel repair which they said would take 2 days I dropped my wheel down to them. After about 3 hours they rang me to say that I should collect my wheel because it could not be picked up until the Friday and it would take a week. I told them I did not have a spair and I did not want to loose my car for a week. I was told this is how long it took and to leave my new car on the road for a week on axle stands. I will never go back to this company again. They are dishonest and damage your vehicle then will take no responsibility for it. They will blame you. I have learnt now to take photos of the car and wheel before I put it into a garage for a tyre repair. This damage is definitely a tyre lever mark from where the tyre was levered off. BEWARE OF MERIT TYRES IN BAGSHOT. Since my review merit tyres director has contacted me as he said he would. And he arranged to have my wheel repaired. I have been to merit tyres in Bagshot before and have had no problems. Because they did the right thing I will now be able to take my car there again so they can look after my tyres All companies have disputes from time to time with their staff and customers; it is how they resolve them which is what counts. In this case after a few emails where both sides stating there point a satisfactory conclusion was reached. I am pleased with the repair and would like to thank the staff at merit tyres for their help in resolving this issue.

I have been using this branch since we moved here 18 years ago. The lads working in the bays and on the till have always been polite and sorted out good deals for me. A few times they have not charged me, when there was dirt in the valve etc. I have found the prices of new tyres to be reasonable and can get 5% off that with a Merityre card. Nice comfortable waiting room with TV and coffee machine. I have recommended them to many new arrivals to our village as an honest and straightforward company.

Had a puncture, which couldn't be repaired. New tyre installed at Hook branch and several months later when the tyres were due to be replaced guess what... The one tyre they replaced was the only one that could not be removed as they had put the new tyre on with an air hammer only and over tightened the bloody thing. 73 quid plus vat for a complete new set of locking nuts by a dealer! Fuming. You can't watch them do the work - never a sign of honesty. Never again and I always check that I can watch fitters I do use now - so I can see the bar being used.

I recently blew out a tyre on my rental car late in the afternoon. Richard at the Bookham branch kindly let me use his telephone (I'm American - no UK cell phone) to call the rental repair service. When it appeared that they weren't going to do anything until the next morning, he and his crew stayed after hours to put a new tyre on. He really helped us out. I also noticed his excellent treatment of his other customers. Outstanding service.
