Ocean Estate Agents have been selling Bristol homes of all shapes and sizes – large and small, grand ¬and modest, smart and not so smart… for all kinds of people since 1984.
Founder Paul Harris started the business over 40 years ago with Ocean Bishopston on Gloucester Road, and there are now 12 local offices across the city including one in Portishead and Weston super Mare.
Their ethos is very much ‘people before property’, with the emphasis on looking after the individuals and families buying or selling their homes, to make what is often a challenging experience, as worry-free as possible.
Ocean’s teams, reflect the culturally rich communities of this wonderful city, spanning a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds from across Bristol.
It is also very much a family business. Many of the team have grown up and started their own families whilst working for Ocean – they even have some second generation ‘Oceaners’ now working for the company.

Ashleigh was really attentive and quick to our questions, and spotting potential issues with our purchase ahead of time. They were also extremely helpful when our first house purchase fell through, and very sympathetic. Definitely recommend them as a first time buyer.

Sep 18,2024Sadie and Chris were great!!! Chris showed me the house and supported multiple viewings for surveys etc and was very knowledgeable of the area and properties in general. Viewed every property in the area with him before finding "the one" and there was no hard sell which was appreciated. Sadie was quick at communicating and swift with resolving issues on the sellers side and friendly throughout. What let the process down was the mortgage broker service they provide. Luigi was helpful at first but once he found out my case was slightly more complicated with proving funds he got frustrated and rude, then hung up on me, which was incredibly unprofessional. Ended up going for a private broker which was well worth the money and supported me every step of the way. On the whole a great experience apart for the mortgage broker service which i would avoid. Thanks Ocean Shirehampton team!!!

Sep 17,2024I had good service and communication throughout with everyone I talked to. They negotiated a good price for my property, and then helped with the process. In particular, the Move Manager Nicola provided an invaluable service in keeping me updated, helping chases solicitors, and move things along. This made the proces much less stressful. I would use Ocean again.

Sep 24,2024Melissa was fabulous. There were some very slow inquiries sat with Oceans clients solicitor. Melissa continuously did everything in her power to chase up often calling as soon as she’d put the phone down to me and ringing me straight back with updates. There were a few hitches towards their end with agreeing completion date and indemnity policies etc but Melissa helped us through it all. Thank you for all your efforts and time - very much appreciated!
