Ocean Estate Agents have been selling Bristol homes of all shapes and sizes – large and small, grand ¬and modest, smart and not so smart… for all kinds of people since 1984.
Founder Paul Harris started the business over 40 years ago with Ocean Bishopston on Gloucester Road, and there are now 12 local offices across the city including one in Portishead and Weston super Mare.
Their ethos is very much ‘people before property’, with the emphasis on looking after the individuals and families buying or selling their homes, to make what is often a challenging experience, as worry-free as possible.
Ocean’s teams, reflect the culturally rich communities of this wonderful city, spanning a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds from across Bristol.
It is also very much a family business. Many of the team have grown up and started their own families whilst working for Ocean – they even have some second generation ‘Oceaners’ now working for the company.

The sales process was long, and complicated by one or two factors outside anybody's control, but Jamie and Sadie were extremely helpful throughout, keeping me informed, always available to help with any queries and really going above and beyond to make the whole process run as smoothly as it could in the circumstances. Simon also helped us through all the options of mortgage protection (life cover and income protection) - these were clearly explained, and it made the process of choosing the various covers much more straight forward. We would highly recommend, and will definitely use Simon for remortgaging etc in future!

Oct 13,2024Ocean is by far THE most professional estate agent I have ever seen, in the country. Over the years I have come to learn how estate agents operate, specially the nationwide ones. let me explain why Ocean is so different from every other estate agents. So the most common tactics other estate agents use that is deemed unethical in my opinion are: - When they evaluate a property for sale, they know sellers usually go with the estate agent that gives the highest evaluation. So often they over evaluate your property then when you sign a min 3 months contract with them, they then claim the market is not good and encourage you to reduce the sale price. - The next thing to be aware of, which other estate agents often do is that their priority is the list of "property investors" they have on their files, and not you the seller! So if an investor is interested in your property, they will absolutely find a way to "encourage" you to reduce your price even further. - finally, what sets Ocean apart from all other estate agents is that most estate agents, specially the nationwide ones, have no interest or drive to sell your property. They just show someone around the property and answer the odd question that is asked of them. I have lost track of the number of times I have asked an estate agent whether the potential buyer was even asked to make an offer. Ocean is completely different to any other estate agent I have ever used... They are THE most ethical, honest and professional estate agent I have ever used. Even my solicitor commented on how efficient and professional Ocean has been! Ocean is a family run business so the directors actually care about the company and take pride in their customer service. My property was sold within 3 hours of going live! AND I got exactly what I asked for and what Ocean valued my property at (which was £20,000 more than any other estate agent). Even a nationwide estate agent commented saying they can not compete with Ocean when it comes to Bristol!! If you are in the Bristol area, Ocean is THE only estate agent I recommend you use. That what I will be doing in the future.
