Ocean Estate Agents have been selling Bristol homes of all shapes and sizes – large and small, grand ¬and modest, smart and not so smart… for all kinds of people since 1984.
Founder Paul Harris started the business over 40 years ago with Ocean Bishopston on Gloucester Road, and there are now 12 local offices across the city including one in Portishead and Weston super Mare.
Their ethos is very much ‘people before property’, with the emphasis on looking after the individuals and families buying or selling their homes, to make what is often a challenging experience, as worry-free as possible.
Ocean’s teams, reflect the culturally rich communities of this wonderful city, spanning a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds from across Bristol.
It is also very much a family business. Many of the team have grown up and started their own families whilst working for Ocean – they even have some second generation ‘Oceaners’ now working for the company.

The team arranged a viewing promptly and had the property listed before I could even get a viewing with other agents. The sale was completed quickly, largely thanks to the excellent photos that really showcased the property. I was kept in the loop throughout the process, with regular updates and feedback about any concerns from potential buyers. This proactive communication made the entire process as smooth and stress-free as possible. Highly recommended!

Jan 23,2025Ocean Sales were very efficient at putting my flat on the market and showing it to prospective buyers. However, once an offer was accepted, there was a slowing down, with an expectation given me that the process would take at least 4 months to complete. My first feedback is that Ocean did not provide good enough service to their client after the offer had been accepted. My first potential buyer pulled out after 11weeks. He was obviously dragging his feet and I suspected that he would not procede but was reassured by Ocean that he wasn’t a time waster’. I felt that Ocean should have undertaken more scrutiny about the buyer’s situation and kept on top of progress with conveyancing. My second complaint is that they encourage buyers to use their own conveyancing team at Ocean Lawyers, who take on new cases when they don’t have capacity. The process with my second buyer was so slow, which was unnecessary as the sale was straightforward. I finally completed my sale after 8 months with Ocean. Overall, Ocean as a business are overstretched and appear to take on more sales and conveyancing than they have the capacity to manage.

Jan 22,2025I used Ocean Property Lawyers in Bradley Stoke to do the conveyancing on my Father’s property. They were recommended to me by a friend who was extremely satisfied with the team. I found Ocean to be highly professional, conscientious and very knowledgeable and skilled in their line of work. In particular, I would like to mention Jamie, who was my main contact, who was amazing. She kept me fully informed throughout the ups and downs that comes with selling a property and was very empathetic as it was my Father’s home for over 30 years. It was an emotional time but Jamie stayed positive throughout even when the first sale fell through. I would highly recommend Ocean without any hesitation.

From the viewing to working with the solicitors, everyone was friendly and approachable. Vandross was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and Julie, the move manager, was very helpful - she explained everything clearly along the way. The solicitors did a good job too, but I would have appreciated a bit more communication. Thanks Ocean, for making a stressful process feel manageable!

Jan 26,2025The process of selling the house subject to contract was very slick. The photo's were professional and we were happy with the advert. The price charged was competitive. The house sold in 8 days! After that, the process felt like it dragged and that the estate agents were being biased slightly too much towards the buyer. This is our first experience selling a house though, so we have nothing to compare the experience to.
