Ocean Estate Agents have been selling Bristol homes of all shapes and sizes – large and small, grand ¬and modest, smart and not so smart… for all kinds of people since 1984.
Founder Paul Harris started the business over 40 years ago with Ocean Bishopston on Gloucester Road, and there are now 12 local offices across the city including one in Portishead and Weston super Mare.
Their ethos is very much ‘people before property’, with the emphasis on looking after the individuals and families buying or selling their homes, to make what is often a challenging experience, as worry-free as possible.
Ocean’s teams, reflect the culturally rich communities of this wonderful city, spanning a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds from across Bristol.
It is also very much a family business. Many of the team have grown up and started their own families whilst working for Ocean – they even have some second generation ‘Oceaners’ now working for the company.

Dec 06,2024I recently found an apartment with Ocean Estate Agents and was very well assisted by Amelia. I'm from France, on my own, and this is the first time I've moved to another country. Amelia was very responsive and was with me from start to finish. She always responded very kindly to all my questions and calls. I think I was one of the most demanding people for her. But she never made me feel it. Especially with the language barrier and the stress I was under with this whole unknown situation. I'd also like to thank Naomi who was also very present and adaptive at the end about the latency I had with the deposit transfer. I couldn't have hoped for better support. Good luck and thanks again!

Oceans (and Demi in particular) have been great and persevered with all my queries. They also updated me regularly on the progress and chased solicitors as needed. I've been now in my new flat for over a month and am super happy with the purchase. Thanks for all your help!

Dec 04,2024Worst experience ever. After doing all the stuff done for moving they said due to reference landlord refuse to give you the house. At the end they deduct our £300 holding deposit. Very disappointing.

Dec 02,2024Despite repeatedly asking about viewing availability this Friday, your agent avoided answering this simple question. Instead, he spent 10 minutes asking irrelevant questions about mortgages and my property search timeline, even after I confirmed having spoken with a mortgage advisor and knowing my borrowing capacity. Only after wasting considerable time did the agent finally inform me that viewing wasn't possible. This unprofessional behavior and inability to address a straightforward inquiry is concerning. What a joke! Reply to reply: Thank you for your response and for taking the time to review this matter. However, I would like to clarify some key points regarding the situation, as there appear to be misunderstandings on your end. Firstly, the “no show” incident occurred because I never received any confirmation for the requested viewing. Without a clear confirmation, it was impossible for me to know whether I was expected to attend. In fact, I only received a call at the time of the scheduled viewing, during which I immediately explained that I could head over right away, though I would need approximately 15 minutes to arrive. Unfortunately, the agent informed me that they could not wait, which was the only reason I did not attend. Secondly, I would like to emphasize that the property I was inquiring about was not the Airbnb property you referenced in your response, but an entirely different one. Despite my attempts to clarify this distinction, the agent did not seem to acknowledge or address it. This miscommunication has now resulted in undue blame being placed on me, which I find both unfair and frustrating. I trust this provides clarity on my perspective and experience. I would appreciate it if this matter could be reviewed further to ensure accurate communication moving forward. Thank you again for your attention. I look forward to a fair resolution and hope to continue exploring properties through your agency.

Nov 28,2024Really pleased with the service we have received from Ocean. Steve was at our house quickly for a valuation following my initial enquiry, and he was so quick at getting the ball rolling. We were online with a couple of days, he told us exactly what to expect and had lots of useful insights about the market and what to expect in the process (this was our first time selling). Mike and Emma did most of the viewings and were great at keeping us in the loop with the feedback from potential buyers. The star of the show has been Melissa however, she has been amazing at keeping momentum and going back and forth between both solicitors and our buyers. Throughout the process we have felt well informed about what stage we are at and what needs to happen next. Melissa has always responded to our calls and emails promptly, she has been super friendly and personable and she’s brilliant at her job! Thank you!!
