Ocean Estate Agents have been selling Bristol homes of all shapes and sizes – large and small, grand ¬and modest, smart and not so smart… for all kinds of people since 1984.
Founder Paul Harris started the business over 40 years ago with Ocean Bishopston on Gloucester Road, and there are now 12 local offices across the city including one in Portishead and Weston super Mare.
Their ethos is very much ‘people before property’, with the emphasis on looking after the individuals and families buying or selling their homes, to make what is often a challenging experience, as worry-free as possible.
Ocean’s teams, reflect the culturally rich communities of this wonderful city, spanning a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds from across Bristol.
It is also very much a family business. Many of the team have grown up and started their own families whilst working for Ocean – they even have some second generation ‘Oceaners’ now working for the company.

Demi in particular was incredible with sales progression and liaised with other agents and also solicitors to ensure things went smoothly from all directions of the chain. She went above and beyond and all staff in the Portishead office were fantastic. Communication was excellent throughout and if I move again, I would use them without hesitation. Dec 21,2024From start to finish the whole process of selling our property through Ocean was excellent. In particular we liked the modern atmosphere and attitude of the Downend office with a break out area where you could discuss your business in relative privacy. The consistent, clear flow of information throughout the process was by telephone was very good, with an on-line information hub that provides all the details and updates regarding progress of the sale. We also used the services the Ocean legal team for the conveyancing (they are based in the office above the agency) and for the same reasons this worked really well for us. Unlike our previous experiences with conveyancing, everything was well communicated by email and telephone with their own on line hub providing clarity on progress throughout the process. Everything was very "joined up" between the Agents and Legal resulting in the whole selling process taking around 3 months which we were very happy with. I would not hesitate in recommending Ocean to friends and family

Dec 20,2024We used solicitor from the Oceans Bradley Stoke office when buying a property recently. The service we received or actually the lack of it was very poor. The communication during the process was non existent. Took ages to get any issues sorted. Were given wrong information on the property and after the completion we were completely ignored! Constantly were sent wrong invoices to pay. Very stressful process and they made it much worse! Awful firm and not cheap. AVOID AT ALL COST !!!!!

Dec 19,2024Even with a change in solicitor on the vendor side, Ocean's team have completed on a leasehold flat in plenty of time for exchange of contracts on our next purchase of a freehold house - impressive. It was a pleasure to work with Olivia and she was invaluable in ensuring we made the right decisions on the problem aspects of the sale. Efficient, professional and thorough.
