What is OKA all about? Simply put, it’s a love affair with living well. Since the very beginning, we’ve been on a mission to create things that make time spent with friends and family more memorable. We believe that’s the secret to living beautifully: enjoying it.
OKA started small, with three women bringing unique designs from the Far East to shoppers in the West. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur on a mission to find special items to decorate her holiday home with, invited two friends along: her sister-in-law Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree included stints at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist whose company made exquisite faux flowers. Together they set out to create a catalogue of charming home upgrades.
From the start, the OKA team has called on talented artisans from all over the world to bring its ideas to life. Our furniture and homewares prioritise beauty, comfort and style, but we choose items for their integrity, not because they fit a prescribed look. The magic of OKA is the mix: hand-picked global treasures, rich textures and patterns, and timeless furniture profiles. It’s ever-changing but unwaveringly British; elegant and easy-going; sophisticated but never stiff.
And our name? OKA is a phonetic take on ochre, a colour that nods to the East, yet feels innately British. A blend of cultures and aesthetics working in perfect harmony, which is at the heart of everything we do.
Building on over two decades of collections, 13 experiential stores in the UK, a website, and an ideas-packed magazine, we’ve become a destination for lovers of home, season after season. And the more we continue to follow our passion for design, the more we inspire others to find theirs.

May 01,2024Richard at Bath Oka made a room design which we were very pleased with and ordered a number of the recommended items. Elliot and Sean were very courteous and careful with delivering the items. We decided to return an item which was too large for the room and they made a return visit to collect despite adding to their journey- so helpful and deserving of 5 ⭐️s.

Apr 29,2024Ordered an item on 2 March 2024 and at the time, the website said stock would be available in 6 weeks. I called on 18 April chasing delivery and was told that the item was in stock in the warehouse, but they would double-check and get back to me later that day. I heard nothing for a week and a half, so called again today and was told that stock won't be available until 12 June - over three months after I ordered. This is an unacceptable delay and all the worse that no email update was given automatically (and the promise of an update after I called was never followed through). No offer to refund delivery/a discount, etc. This was our first order from Oka and now likely to be our last, unfortunately. EDIT: Oka’s reply says they “reached out with an update”. This is untrue - I only got updates after chasing for them myself. All I got from them was silence.

Apr 25,2024Have always been browsing through the store for a while now but was ready to start buying stuff to decorate our home after the refurbishment. Went in to the Edgbaston Oka store to find a few things I liked. Unfortunately, they only had one of the 3 pendant lights that I liked. I went to enquire and met Jason who was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to ring all stores to find stock and ultimately helped me get what I wanted. Absolutely amazing service. Thank you so much Jason. Will definitely be visiting more often. Highly recommend !!

Apr 24,2024Whilst appreciating that during promotions/sales you may be overwhelmed. I am having to chase one of the four orders placed with you. Three have been successfully followed through to delivery stage. One has not. Order WUK00295640 appears to not have proceeded beyond confirmation stage. I have telephoned customer services (twice) who will not offer anything other than 'looking into it will ring you back' or 'will update you am looking into it' But the attitude and manner left a lot to be desired. Could someone please confirm that this order will be fulfilled ? Thank you sooo much for your kind reply. Yes your customer services operative really went the half mile for me by revealing absolutely nothing whatsoever about the reason for delay. Just how many teams of people does it take to confirm you have stock and how long does it take them to then confirm to your customer by email when that stock will arrive ?
