What is OKA all about? Simply put, it’s a love affair with living well. Since the very beginning, we’ve been on a mission to create things that make time spent with friends and family more memorable. We believe that’s the secret to living beautifully: enjoying it.
OKA started small, with three women bringing unique designs from the Far East to shoppers in the West. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur on a mission to find special items to decorate her holiday home with, invited two friends along: her sister-in-law Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree included stints at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist whose company made exquisite faux flowers. Together they set out to create a catalogue of charming home upgrades.
From the start, the OKA team has called on talented artisans from all over the world to bring its ideas to life. Our furniture and homewares prioritise beauty, comfort and style, but we choose items for their integrity, not because they fit a prescribed look. The magic of OKA is the mix: hand-picked global treasures, rich textures and patterns, and timeless furniture profiles. It’s ever-changing but unwaveringly British; elegant and easy-going; sophisticated but never stiff.
And our name? OKA is a phonetic take on ochre, a colour that nods to the East, yet feels innately British. A blend of cultures and aesthetics working in perfect harmony, which is at the heart of everything we do.
Building on over two decades of collections, 13 experiential stores in the UK, a website, and an ideas-packed magazine, we’ve become a destination for lovers of home, season after season. And the more we continue to follow our passion for design, the more we inspire others to find theirs.
Love going to this store the staff are always so helpful and friendly. In particular Helena is very helpful I was looking for a particular footstool and mentioned if it ever went on sale pls let me know….i didn’t think it would ever go on sale…. Helena made a real effort to let me know when it went on sale and I ended up buying two! Def an inspiring place for ideas and beautiful pieces for the home!
Absolutely amazing, special thanks to Linda who went above and beyond to assist! Would not hesitate to buy again from here amazing customer service and I live in Harrogate miles away, it was all done over the phone and will be delivered to the Harrogate store for me to collect, perfect.
Great service from Oka online, in store and delivery today (thanks Neil & Kennedy). Very impressed with the quality of products I have purchased over the last couple of months.
Great service from Tanka and Udaya, nothing too much trouble.
Kennedy and Chris delivered my OKA chest of draws with so much care and attention. They were also very friendly. I was very pleased my purchase was delivered in perfect condition. Thank you Kennedy and Chris :)
Faultless from shop service to delivery. Delivery chaps in particular are spot on which is not often the case. Had two deliveries and both times it felt like a white glove service. Highly recommended
Love OKA! my local is Harrogate where the staff are very friendly, knowledgable and great on interior design advice. Last visit was for a birthday present and came away with an additional 8 cushions for our garden room! delighted with the complementing fabrics textures and colours huge thanks to Carole ! See you again soon !
Excellent communication and on time delivery. Delivery guys were so polite and professional.
Tank and Kdaya were excellent delivering a very large sideboard.
I'm on the fence with OKA. I have purchased textiles and crockery from them, all of which I really rate. However both sets of glassware I have purchased look really low quality. The first set of 4 blue wine glasses had a scratch and what felt like a chip in one. I returned them and had to send 3 emails to get them to refund the £7.50 delivery! I have now received the Pulcinella Champagne flutes which are pretty horrid. They are quite a thick and chunky glass (they have a really thick rim) so they have an almost polycarbonate look & feel to them. Completely overpriced for the quality and not adequately described in the description. Hopefully this will help others.
Beautiful furniture and accessories and the delivery team were friendly and professional. First class service all round
Brilliant service and communication throughout including to combine delivery on two orders made on different days. Furniture delivered by Tanka and Udaya from the Oka team who were both efficient, friendly and well within the allocated time slot. Very pleased with all items.
Same as some other people on here. Ordered cushions they came ripped so wanted to return them . Sent an email and tried ringing twice with no response. In the end I’ve packed them up and sent via post office so I’m sure they’ll charge me return fee. Never again
Chris (442) was excellent. Drove courteously slowly to avoid dogs/ children .. removed all rubbish despite wind blowing it around
Outstanding customer service. Joe has great knowledge of all the products and was quick to suggest different furniture options available. Super friendly and always professional.
I have been a huge fan for years and happily spent my money with Oka. I had a recent issue with a order, was told it was in stock before ordering, only to be told after I placed the order, I would have to wait 6 wks as it’s out of stock. This wasn’t the first time this had happened recently. During the numerous calls I made to sort this out, I had the unfortunate experience of speaking to one of the rudest customer services agents they have. He was unhelpful, couldn’t care less about the issue and continuously spoke over me when I tried to explain this situation, in the end I put the phone down on him. I wrote a letter of complaint and received an answer back from the “Global head of Customer Service”, who completely dismissed my complaint, she stated the virtues and credentials of her rude colleague….. completely missing the point that despite her praising him to the hilt….he had been unhelpful and rude to a customer, who was trying to get the delivery of the order dealt with. She also stated she had been in the role a short time, demonstrating to me her focus was clearly on her staff and the customers concerns were lost way back in her priorities. I was in the process of ordering various items and now decided against ordering from a company that has complete disregard for its customers concerns. I wrote back stating the above and received another bland box standard reply, no reference to how this made a customer feel. I have come to the conclusion from my experience with the Global head of CS, who appears uninterested how customers are treated, she never once mentioned the word “sorry” and if that is how the head reacts to customers, it’s hardly surprising that this individual who I spoke is able to get away with his poor engagement with customers. If this were the bar is set for customer service, I’m hugely disappointed. This is a paragraph of her letter. “ ensuring our team consistently represents the high standard Oka is known for. However, I must clarify, without dismissing your feelings, that this is not an admission of fault, but a commitment to doing better.” Never was the word sorry or an apology mentioned, she certainly wasn’t admitting fault, that was clear. From being a company that I always considered first in customer service, something has seriously changed for the worse. A simple sorry, recognition and what can we do to make it better, is all that is needed to resolve a complaint. Not a communication that shows no interest how a customers experience has left them feeling.
I wish there were zero stars or a negative option. This has been one of the worst online shopping experiences. The delivery charges are insane, and despite branding itself as a luxury store, it's far from it! The quality is cheap, and to return a product, you have to pay again!! I don't think this brand will survive long. I'm never ever buying from this store again. The customer service is super rude and not helpful at all! Ps: They asked for my details but never contacted me regarding the issue.
I bought two Stafford chairs for my hallway. They are upholstered in a sumptuous blue velvet. A very elegant addition. Sean and Mark delivered them. The best delivery service I’ve ever had, so polite they offered to unpack the items and remove the packaging…. Great service
Extremely happy with the service provided by Ross in Oka Chelsea brunch. He was very helpful, knowledgeable and as a front man representing Oka, very well dressed as well. He helped me to choose the artificial bunch of flowers. He was well spoken, passionate and indeed very intelligent. This young man is a credit to Oka. Thank you Ross.

Apr 22,2024We ordered a pair of coffee tables back in 2021,our credit card accepted and the tables delivered. To our surprise in March this year (2024) we received a letter from a collections company saying we owed Oka £1398. After checking spam mail we found a note from Oka a few weeks earlier on 13th February explaining that unfortunately they have failed to receive funds from our credit card company. When I challenged Oka as to why they didn’t tell me at the time in 2021 they suggested they had contacted me on several occasions before this - after checking my emails and phone records I could not see any previous communications, and when asked them for evidence they could not provide. I have subsequently paid the debt after finding that we had indeed not been charged on our card at the time which is fair enough. However the way in which Oka customer services has dealt with this has been appalling. Both lying about previous communications ( suggesting we were were ignoring their chasers) and also instruction a collections agency within a few weeks of a first contact ( who added a handling fee and interest to the original invoice). They have clearly had an internal issue but made us feel that we were at fault. We pride ourselves in settling bills promptly and this saga was very disappointing and unacceptable.
