What is OKA all about? Simply put, it’s a love affair with living well. Since the very beginning, we’ve been on a mission to create things that make time spent with friends and family more memorable. We believe that’s the secret to living beautifully: enjoying it.
OKA started small, with three women bringing unique designs from the Far East to shoppers in the West. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur on a mission to find special items to decorate her holiday home with, invited two friends along: her sister-in-law Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree included stints at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist whose company made exquisite faux flowers. Together they set out to create a catalogue of charming home upgrades.
From the start, the OKA team has called on talented artisans from all over the world to bring its ideas to life. Our furniture and homewares prioritise beauty, comfort and style, but we choose items for their integrity, not because they fit a prescribed look. The magic of OKA is the mix: hand-picked global treasures, rich textures and patterns, and timeless furniture profiles. It’s ever-changing but unwaveringly British; elegant and easy-going; sophisticated but never stiff.
And our name? OKA is a phonetic take on ochre, a colour that nods to the East, yet feels innately British. A blend of cultures and aesthetics working in perfect harmony, which is at the heart of everything we do.
Building on over two decades of collections, 13 experiential stores in the UK, a website, and an ideas-packed magazine, we’ve become a destination for lovers of home, season after season. And the more we continue to follow our passion for design, the more we inspire others to find theirs.
I’ve had the most appalling customer service firstly absolutely no confirmation emails for my furniture order. I had to contact them to find out what was going on as the first email I received was from the courier company saying they couldn’t deliver my furniture as I’d not chosen a delivery date. But I’d had no emails not even an order confirmation. The only way I could see my order was logging into the website. Then I contacted them an hour after my furniture was delivered about a cracked chair and damaged sideboard. Two weeks later an I’ve not heard a thing. Absolutely shocking service esp when their products aren’t cheap!
Wonderful, friendly and helpful service!
George and Darren - delivery guys go to the top of the class! Very helpful.
This was the first time we had been in this shop. It was a beautiful shop, well laid out with some fantastic items for the home. We bought an artificial Amerillo Plant for our Dinning Table. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again. Colin & Wendy Bell
Beautiful ottoman !
CJ and Sarn from 442, were absolutely amazing. Consummate professionals. Arrived on time, and navigated bringing my items to a first floor flat. CJ and Sean went above and beyond and would recommend them to friends, family, work colleagues….everyone I know. Excellent service. THANK YOU!!!
Fabulous interior design advice all done online via my photos and phone chats Jo Tremarco was such a help and sorted out my guest room and some other accessories by helping me tie in the colour scheme with existing items.
An awful company offering Inferior goods and a non existent customer service, and perhaps the single worst shopping experience I’ve had. I Ordered some flower stems online as a gift and made an hour round-trip to collect them. Upon returning home I realised that half of the stems were faulty - I’m talking florists tape half peeled off, petals falling off, material peeling/flaking off etc. Very poor given the price. I’ve seen better quality products from basic High Street stores frankly. I requested a replacement which they initially organised but later cancelled because they said that all of the stems were like this so they couldn’t guarantee the quality. They agreed to collect the stems and initially told me that I would have to find a box to put them in but later agreed to send a box via post as this was one was Unreasonable in the circumstances. The courier collected and delivered the following day, and 3 weeks on, and following several lengthy phone calls and unanswered emails, I still don’t have a refund. They have confirmed they have received the returned goods but have refused to offer a reason as to why I have not been refunded and keep promising to chase it up and then I receive no further communication. The last person I spoke to promised that they would follow up via phone call and also via email and have done neither. I am now being forced to escalate this to the ombudsman as I can get no communication on the matter. Terrible company, avoid.
Good quality white glove delivery team. Darren and Alan from Oka delivery team very considerate when unwrapping, positioning and overall delivery of our sofa and bar stools. Wish all delivery teams were this good.
Very helpful staff at Guildford even after dealing with DPD hiccup! Beautiful quality hanging acorns received today. Thank you.
We bought 2 beautiful Pink Hulu Lamp Bases in the OKA Sale and unfortunately one was broken - I contacted the shop and thankfully they had one left in store and they very happily exchanged the lamp for us. The lamps look beautiful in my bedroom and I’m a very happy customer! Thank you 🙏

I can't remember when I was last so annoyed! OKA staff at South Godstone are very disrespectful! We have been asking for a better fence, and the contractor destroyed the verge and fly tipped all the rubble in our communal garden. Shame on OKA who are cheapskates and disrespectful. They also broke the law. OKA thank you for your reply. This is untrue. Currently, the height of the fence is over 1m and we are having to drive into the A22 to see the traffic. There is a law that prohibits fences from being over 1m and vertical, so we can see the traffic. It's the same with the lights you put up. It lights up the neighbours house as well as the A22. When you change things based on spiteful lies, the community holds you accountable. In time we will publish the lies. Your cctv does not cover the area where they fly tipped. I have photos and the rubble is still there. OKA tried to take down this review but failed. Now you want to lie your way out of it. You are a bad, nasty, vindictive neighbour and think you are above the law!
