What is OKA all about? Simply put, it’s a love affair with living well. Since the very beginning, we’ve been on a mission to create things that make time spent with friends and family more memorable. We believe that’s the secret to living beautifully: enjoying it.
OKA started small, with three women bringing unique designs from the Far East to shoppers in the West. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur on a mission to find special items to decorate her holiday home with, invited two friends along: her sister-in-law Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree included stints at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist whose company made exquisite faux flowers. Together they set out to create a catalogue of charming home upgrades.
From the start, the OKA team has called on talented artisans from all over the world to bring its ideas to life. Our furniture and homewares prioritise beauty, comfort and style, but we choose items for their integrity, not because they fit a prescribed look. The magic of OKA is the mix: hand-picked global treasures, rich textures and patterns, and timeless furniture profiles. It’s ever-changing but unwaveringly British; elegant and easy-going; sophisticated but never stiff.
And our name? OKA is a phonetic take on ochre, a colour that nods to the East, yet feels innately British. A blend of cultures and aesthetics working in perfect harmony, which is at the heart of everything we do.
Building on over two decades of collections, 13 experiential stores in the UK, a website, and an ideas-packed magazine, we’ve become a destination for lovers of home, season after season. And the more we continue to follow our passion for design, the more we inspire others to find theirs.

Jan 21,2025My experience with Oka was absolutely horrific from start to finish. After purchasing a very expensive item, I had no communication in terms of delivery and had to chase multiple times. Oka over charge for ‘White glove’ Delivery service, upon receipt of the item, they didn’t want to bring it to the room that it was due to be located in. Then we get onto the Quality of item, it was completely smashed and all 3 drawers were either completely broken or not correctly built, unable to even use one drawer. Not sure where the quality control is within their warehouses. The item was collected and I then did not receive any acknowledgement of this being received, a refund being processed etc. I had to chase for this information. 20 days later the refund is still not received, to be told today it hasn’t yet been processed. There is absolutely no ownership or escalation point within the customer service team. I’m waiting for the next disaster with the refund… shocking company

Jan 19,2025We love Oka. The fabrics are super high quality, we love all the cushions. The Chelsea shop is great and staff very friendly. They were happy for us to faff around choosing cushions and putting them all out on the sofas etc!! Highly recommend. The shop is also dog friendly which is a huge bonus!

Jan 18,2025I ordered a throw from their knutsford store and paid over the phone and for the DPD charges of 7.50 it was sent without a packaging just then in a mail bag and as I examined it I wondered if it was displayed in their shop floor and it had a strong smell. I went to return it to their Chelsea store where the woman at the counter argued with me and took it to her colleague to reaffirm that it was alright and in a condescending fashion refunded me deducting my DPD charges. I have had two design services fine by them and shopped online and in store for years. This was the rudest interaction I have had and hope they have more experienced people to serve at the stores.
