The flight I was trying to book initially didn't have a checked bag allowance. I asked Layla in the chat for help but it turned out that the specific flight had sold out already. Layla helped me look for another flight and found a flight that allowed checked bags and very close to the itinerary I was looking for. She stayed on the chat the whole time until my ticket was confirmed and in my inbox. She was really great and provided an excellent customer experience.
This company is absolutely horrible. I was supposed to fly from Lima to Canada, and i had something come up where i needed to make a change to the return flight. I tried calling the airlines, and they said I must deal with Ovago to make any changes. I then called Ovago and the recording on their customer service line said i have to use Live chat and i will get an immediate respsonse. I then spent 8 hours on Live Chat, where i was told very often that someone 'would be calling me shortly'. After 8 hours it had reached the time for my flight, and still no call or reply, and I went to bed. I woke up the next morning to see I received a message saying that they can help with my flight change, but it will cost $300 plus a $300 'No Show' fee. I was prepared to pay for the change, but not the 'no show' fee, so I sneakily called their 'New reservations' line (where of course they will accept calls), and had them change me to the 'changes department'. I asked about the 'no show' fee, and they agreed that they taken 12 hours to reply, and that makes sesne why i was a 'no show'. She agreed on their error, but she said it would take at least 24 hours for them to reply about whether Ovago would take responsibility. Meanwhile the new flight i want to take is in 18 hours, and she said if i want the change, i need to pay the $300 no show fee, and as soon as i do that, then Ovago will not refund me, i would need to wait at least 24 hours for their reply. So, i'm stuck, if i wanted my flight, i need to pay the $300 no show fee. I just decided to book a whole new flight. Just remember, if you use Ovago, you basically have absolutely horrible support.
Ovago's customer service representative lied right to my face. I wanted to change my flight date and was assured it was easy and free, however, once I changed my flight date, I was charged $387 despite having flight insurance! Because I had no idea when I would be ready to leave my current destination, he said "no problem"... "you can reschedule again" without telling me I would be charged everytime I rescheduled my date! So, my intial flight was $1300 and now it went up to $1700. I was so upset that I immediately canceled the rescheduled flight within 24 hours but still didn't get reimbursed. You know why? Because apparently they never canceled my flight!!!! Liars! I received a flight reminder email from ovago. I canceled my initial flight home and the rescheduled flight in its entirety, so why am I receiving flight reminder emails? Because they never canceled the flight and that's why I never received my money back. $400 just taken from me. I'll never do buisness with ovago again nor will I recommend... in fact, the exact opposite.
OVAGO is not a good company to deal with them, they charge me up till now over $1600 just for one way trip and for no show they want to charge me another $1700. They are a rabbing off company. Never ever trust anything they say. All thier goal is to extract as much money as they can from you. After I made a reservation with them they call me coz they want to charge me another $200 for window seats. When you call them they put you in hold for hours and they have only one answer no matter what you say to them. We will call you within 24 hours and they never do. If I can I give them less than a one star I will

They have dozens of people to call and harass you about buying extras, but no one to actually assist you when you need assistance. If they were to spend half of that time and effort in their customer service, they could build a loyal customer base. But instead they try to wring as much cash out of you as possible then move on to the next sucker.
Ovago is without a doubt one of the worst companies I have dealt with. I had to postpone a vacation due to a medical emergency. After initial denial, I got a credit from Ovago. When I tried to rebook the trip, they did everything they could to make sure I would have to pay a MUCH higher fare, and their customer service people are phantoms who ignored any contact on my part. They call at inconenient times (like Sunday mornings!) but you are NEVER allowed to call them back. I've complained and complained in emails to them, and they send vague general emails in reply. The whole strategy of the company is take your money...and keep it without providing the airline tickets you paid for. The 5 star reviews are fake...and I think one reason it's impossible to reach a customer service agent in person is that they are too busy writing these fake reviews. I hope to find a class action lawsuit to join against Ovago.
DO NOT PURCHASE tickets from OVAGO!!!… unless You don’t mind being told over and over again that “You will be contacted in the next X hours”, but no one actually calls You ever… You cannot actually connect with a real person on the customer service phone #, because their automated system tells You that all their agents are busy with other customers regardless when/how many times You try… Their prices look less expensive but when You add up the time You had to invest and the the frustration-keep trying to connect with them to get something done, please believe me it will cost more than if You just buy your tickets with the airlines you’re flying with directly. Update:05.21.23 After 5 days of trying to get help from Ovago our flight (the one we needed help with) took place today (05.21.23) I had to pay $240 for checked in baggage fo 2 ppl, since Ovago didn’t help with $35 (x2) upgrade and this was only one way..., I will have to pay the same on the way back. So , again: unless You have a lot of money, time and patience to wast DO NOT PURCHASE airplane tickets through OVAGO!!!

My father had a medical emergency and was forbidden to fly. My brother had purchased the insurance for his ticket. The company would only refund 1/2 the ticket price instead of the 100%. This is no way to treat a 100 year old WW2 veteran. It’s disgusting and shameful. He was in the ER twice with this emergency. He was so upset that he couldn’t go on the trip and to not even get his money back was a slap in the face adding insult to injury. Shame on this company.
I planned a brief trip to Italy with and for my father; a 100 year old WWII veteran who was on a self-funded mission to return priceless historical relics recovered and saved by his brother from the bombing of the Abbey at Montecassino outside of Rome. Sadly, just two days before the trip he had severe posterior epistaxis, he was taken to the VA Hospital Emergence Room, and there they packed the sinus cavity with a balloon tamponade, and he was was prohibited from flying. I completed my fathers mission without him, returning these items directly to the Abbey. I had purchased Ovago's trip insurance based upon their website which indicated 100% ticket refund. You buy their insurance by ticking a box on the ticket order. They never mentioned the lengthy document of exclusions or the fact that they only pay 50% unless you remain overnight in a hospital. I guess the life-threatening balloon and doctor instructions of DO NOT FLY don't count. So with all their exclusions they only paid 50% of the base ticket price. NEVER AGAIN will I fall for this criminal nonsense. Shameful behavior. The insurance was $79 per ticket, about 10% of the ticket price. Crooks. DO NOT buy ANY of their extras or add ons; they are upselling and I would guess the rest of their upsell is all nonsense like this. Shameful way to treat one of America's Greatest Generation.
