Oct 08,2023Review of 'Mid-Century Marseille' 3 bed apartment rented through Plum Guide. First the positives. Quiet, safe building in a great location, apartment is full of natural light, and 2 out of 3 double bedrooms are a good size. Now, the negatives. Seating in the living area and kitchen crockery are inadequate for an apartment that can accommodate 6 people. Only one set of keys was made available. The single air conditioner in the entire apartment is in the living area. Only one bedroom has a rail for hanging clothes. The en-suite is compact: it measures no more than 1 x 2 metres, one must sit at an angle on the WC because the sink cabinet gets in the way, the size of the sink and its disproportionately large tap makes it almost impossible to wash without splashing water on the floor, and the shower taps and heads similarly are disproportionately large for the tiny cubicle.

Oct 08,2023Santorini is a place of beauty and there is no better place to enjoy it than this villa. The villa came with two private sleeping and living areas, washrooms as well as outside tables, chairs and chaise lounges. The pool overlook the sprawling views of the Aegean and made you feel like you were swimming into infinity. There are so many restaurants within the area to walk to as well as the main city. This villa is incredible.

Oct 06,2023Wow! What can I say, I was searching for properties and asked a question via the chat and the next thing I know I"m on the phone with the most pleasant and knowledgable agent, Ollie. He helped me drill down on what was important, took the time to understand what my client was interested in and within hours made 2 very good recommendations for me. He also provided rationale as to why each of them would be a good option. This is a very distinguishing factor with Plum Guide and it is certainly appreciated.

Oct 05,2023Do not believe that you will be getting superior customer service with Plum Guide. They left me without a place to stay for a trip that’s only a couple weeks away, and $2,500.00 poorer!! A couple of months ago I booked a nice apartment in Paris through Plum Guide for a friend and myself. It required a 50% non refundable deposit which was 2500$ for five nights. The second half of the fee would be charged a few weeks before arrival. On Wednesday Plum Guide let me know via email that my payment had not gone through (it turns out that that Visa card had been flagged, and in fact, hacked), but this email went into my junk file and I never saw it. The next email came on Saturday and it said I had 24 hours to pay or my reservation would be cancelled. That day I happened to be with my elderly parents all day, and did not check my emails. On Sunday morning I woke up to an email that my reservation had been cancelled and my deposit was forfeited! This email had been sent by Plum Guide at 8am, and at 8:14am I was on the phone with a person who said that she would immediately contact the host to reinstate my reservation. Hours later, this person sent an email to say that the host had already rebooked the space. She did not offer to help me find a new apartment, but she said that she would pursue a refund on my deposit. I was obviously upset, since I had lost the apartment that I had wanted, but it still felt like we were remedying the situation, and now I just had the daunting task of finding somewhere to stay last minute. But then things got crazy. The next day the person at Plum emailed that the host of the Paris space didn’t want to refund my deposit (big surprise), so at this point I mentioned that I had only received two emails and no other efforts to contact me when my credit card declined, which is not meeting the contractual agreement between myself and Plum Guide. The Plum Guide website specifically states that “In the instance that the payment doesn’t go through: You will be notified by email and text message”. I offered to take the refund in the form of site credit (I was still searching for a new place to stay). The Plum Person again went off with the promise that she would try to pursue some kind of a refund. That was yesterday. This morning I found a much less friendly email where she stated that “adequate emails had been sent”, but as a “gesture of goodwill” Plum would offer a $500 site credit. So beware that if something goes wrong with your booking through Plum Guide, they only plan to make an “adequate email” effort at contacting you. From some other recent reviews here on Trustpilot it looks like this is a pattern at best, a policy at worst.

Oct 05,2023AVOID AVOID AVOID They claim to vet every property and neighbourhood. Read on. We were missold a week in a property in Chatham, Kent that looked great on the images. In reality the property is located in a dangerous area, noted as one of Kent’s most run down High Streets with drug use, anti social behaviour and shops boarded up. Violent crime is common. Plum claim that the location was accurately described. It was not. In addition given their ‘strict vetting’ process for properties that includes location, it is quite remarkable that they listed a property on the most crime ridden street in Kent! This is basic customer care and the reason I chose Plum was because they claim to ensure the local area is suitable etc. The property, due to location is not fit for purpose and they are in clear breach of consumer protection law. I’ve tried to post links to the articles but it is not allowed. If you type Chatham, Kent High Street crime into Google, first hit is a link with this headline : ‘Chatham Central: Kent’s 'most dangerous' neighbourhood with county's highest rates of burglary, robbery and drug offences’ We found this out over a week before arriving and asked for a refund. Plum guide refused and claimed it was outside of their hands. Interestingly, they don’t show property reviews on their website. I wonder why? In addition, there are no company details on their website, vat number or company number. It transpires they trade under Plu&M Ltd. Sadly, as they will not refund, we will be taking legal action against them. AVOID like the plague. Awful company.

Oct 05,2023Our host Prisca was fantastic, responding quickly and efficiently. Prisca also booked an early morning cab which was really appreciated. The Nuki app made access really easy! Though if we lost our phone or battery died I wouldn’t know what to do! Apartment was clean, tidy and well furnished.

Oct 04,2023The Villa was lovely and exactly what we expected with the photos provided on the plum guide website. The entire complex was very clean, spacious and was enjoyed by all 3 couples. We enjoyed visiting a number of the towns in the Puglia region - definitely a gem of southern Italy.

I had no doubt that she was on top of this. This kept me calm with no concerns. Across the board those at Plumguide are fully capable of delivering top notch reservations and services. Marina has kept in contact and has brought me along. Very enjoyable interaction. I will use Plumguide for all my needs in the future!

Fully (!!) equipped, modern and stylish kitchen and bathroom, a spacious living/bedroom and a sweet little balcony for your morning coffee (which you'll find in the kitchen).
