We had a great stay in Richmond! The apartment was nicely remodeled and the view to the river from the kitchen was beautiful and relaxing. The location was close to everything, just a short walk from the station, Richmond Green, Thames River, and good shopping on the main street. We went to the Teddington Cheese shop twice! Petersham Nurseries was a pretty walk away along with Ham House and Kew Gardens. Restaurants nearby were good too. I would have liked a few more recommendations but maybe there are just too many wonderful places to mention them all!

We stayed at "Beyond the Walls" in Lucca recently. I was disappointed by the fact that the pictures advertised displayed the apartment in a much more 'lush' fashion, what we received was a much more 'stripped back' version. The photos on Plumb Guide were obviously taken years ago and at the time, the apartment had been "dressed" for the photographs. Many contents within the apartment were mis- matched, well worn and needing replaced. The location and having parking on site was a real plus. Genrally the beds were comfy, the bathrooms were relatively modern. For a 2 x bed apartment however, the lounge only had a 2 seater couch? Also only 2 bath towels/2 hand towels for an entire week? The apartment needs the contents updated/refreshed.
We were thrilled to learn about Plumguide. The properties were beautiful and their website was easy to manage. The whole experience was positive and we were thrilled with the flat we got in Paris. The entire process was a breeze.
I am appalled that this company is using photos of properties advertised on other sites and giving the property a different house name in adverts on their own plumguide site. For example …. Nutshell in Marazion, Cornwall is shown as ‘Sea Shimmer’. The site says it has personally vetted the property when have never visited, it also says they are ‘transparent’…. Well that’s true - I can see straight through them. They don’t know what they are doing… they advertise the Marazion properties as having views of St Michaels Mount in Cornwall, but use a photo of La Mount St Michel in France on their advert. Avoid this company and deal direct with a legitimate local agency. You’ll also save money as Plum Guide add around 10% to the real price. Further to the above… Having been reassured that it is St Michaels Mount I can gaze upon in the photo, I have taken a screenshot and can assure readers it is not - I live there so I should know. . Unfortunately I cannot attach it to show the discrepancy
We enjoyed our stay here. Customer service team was very helpful especially when we had a little problem. The location was perfect for us as well.
Our reservation in london was cancelled on the day we were departing the US. The situation was further aggravated as there was not a person to talk to over the phone ( we got VM). We finally got someone via chat but it was 5 pm in London and there were shift changes. The chat person was trying to reach owners but no one seemed to be available. This experience was tough and i would be afraid to ever make a recommendation based on our experience. We were offered a discount on a future stay but i would be hesitant. We ended up staying in a london hotel. Our money was fully refunded immediately which was helpful. We also rented a place in Scotland and we had a hard time getting in touch with the owner the day before our arrival but she finally called us back.
The information from Plum Guide for the apartment we rented in the marais in Paris was spot on - pictures if anything undersold the apartment, it was so beautiful. The pros and cons (or home truths section) on the website is very accurate and helpful.
We have found Plum Guide staff to be available and responsive any time we have questions or have "bumps in the road". I will continue to use Plum Guide as a lodging resource for any European travel. I wish they were an option in USA.

Marina was very helpful in advising me regarding various properties after a friend recommended Plum Guide to me. The properties are described in detail with helpful points listed regarding particularly positive (and negative if there are any) aspects.
Quick answers on email and good information beforehand. The appartement was very well done. Everything in place and clean. Good taste of decoration.
Booked an entire luxury house for a group event in California only to find out that when I emailed the host about early check-in that PlumGuide had never confirmed with them and had filled the reservation dates with someone else, despite my credit card being charged. When I contacted PlumGuide to figure out a resolution no one responded to emails, phone calls (or their requested option of WhatsApp) for roughly 48 hours - despite their website stating that they had 24 hour customer service accessibility. Had I trusted that the reservation was valid, I would have shown up with a group of people only to find out that we had no place to stay - and no way to contact customer service to fix the problem.
We've just come back from a fantastic extended family holiday. Great location, remote but peaceful and tranquil. Beautifully furnished with everything we needed, great pool for the kids. Bonus was to be served breakfast by a very pleasant chef and his wife!! The owner was very helpful and property maintained well, would definately stay again, thank you!!
Lovely impeccably decorated duplex with a huge private garden in the middle of the action! This was a gem, comfortable and spacious, close to King’s Cross and the new development at Coal Yard Drops with easy access to restaurants, designer shopping and the Regent’s Canal walking path! The bedroom was comfortable and quiet with a garden view. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gorgeous design open to the living room with intriguing display cases and a projector! Fantastic bathroom with great water pressure and gorgeously renovated. Really enjoyed the thoughtful lighting design and the interesting art. The host is gracious and easily accessible. I’ll be back!
Plum Guide is the best apartment find site I have ever used. I trust them completely to fully vet the properties, I love that they give good intel and that most of the listings include floor plans. I have never been disappointed in a Plum Guide stay. Their customer service is excellent. Whenever I have had an issue with a booking (minor things like changing dates, etc) they have been very prompt and professional in assisting me.
My partner and I spent two weeks in Portugal and booked 3 different properties with Plum Guide. Upon checking into the first, we found a multitude of issues. Horrifically stained sheets (that were not the correct size for the bed), pillows, and mattresses, amenities missing, and a shrieking neighbour at all hours of the day, amongst other things like a lack of deep cleaning, and horrible smelling towels. We quickly realized just how far removed Plum Guide was from the property. The owner used a 3rd party property rental company, who then listed the property on all vacation rental sites, who then contracted out cleaning and maintenance. The "host" (read Property Management company) was unresponsive at first but ultimately sent an employee to deliver sheets on the 4th night of our 5 night stay. Throughout this stay we were playing phone, messenger, and email tag with Plum Guide. Once we were able to get in touch with a real representative, our main concern was that our 3rd booking of this trip was with the same Property Management company, and given how the first 5 days of our trip were entirely consumed with problems, we were adamant about not staying with them in the future. Our second booking was fabulous! As pictured, clearly taken care of, and exactly what we expected from a Plum Guide property. Alas, our 3rd booking was even worse than we could have imagined. The property was in an alleyway with a homeless shelter meters away. And no deadbolt on the door! Since Plum Guide had not provided any support in finding us a new property, I began to search on other property rental sites for a new one, as we did not feel safe at this location. Since we could not check into another accommodation until the following day, we stayed the night...until we had to leave abruptly at 3am due to the most intense odour I've ever smelled in my entire life. Individuals on the street were attempting to break into other properties in the alley, and we were becoming genuinely concerned for our health given the smell in the unit. We packed up and stayed at a nearby hotel for the next 7 hours (at a cost of 200 euros). We moved into a property listed by a competitor and had an amazing experience! Once we were safely at our incredible new accommodation, the "Host" instructed us to change our check-out date in order to get a refund for the nights that we would not be staying there. We communicated this with Plum Guide, who assured us that they were working on it. Well, our trip ends and absolutely nothing had been done, and the "Host" was not willing to offer a refund as Plum Guide did not change our check out date. On the phone, Pum Guide said that due to our experience AND the fact that multiple other guests had complained about properties with this company, they would be de-listing them from their site, and offering us a refund for our stay. An email confirmed this. Our trip has now been over for nearly 2 weeks and Plum Guide has ghosted us. No refund, no replies (after sending upwards of 5 follow-up emails), and they've closed our WhatsApp chat. Deplorable. If you're considering staying with Plum Guide, here are some tips: - Despite what their site leads you to believe, the vast majority of properties have NOT been vetted by "experts". Only those with a certain number of reviews actually get visited by a Plum Guide representative. That little disclaimer below the listing details that says "This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.", yeah, that means it hasn't received a positive review yet from a guest and been visited by an independent home critic. - They claim to not have reviews since all properties are expertly vetted. After finding the problematic properties on Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo etc, they had average ratigs of 3.5/5 and 7/10. I would never have even come across these properties on those sites as I would filter by much higher ratings. Also, these ratings gave insight into patterns of uncleanliness and safety of the properties -- another thing that would have led me to choose different properties. - Their customer service team is quite small. I was very understanding and empathetic towards them. However, if you're having issues, you might spend your entire trip waiting on responses from them. - Their promise to take down all properties listed with this management company? A lie, you can still book them on Plum Guide. TLDR; horrible experience, misleading promises, spent over 500 euros out of pocket for last-minute accommodations through a different booking platform, still waiting on a promised refund.

Jun 19,2023We enjoyed 6 nights at a Paris apartment. We found the whole experience easy and transparent. The apartment was exactly as described and shown in the photos. We loved the apartment and its location, and will use Plum again.
