Final price was $1,000 over original estimate they kept raising the price once they had my item, I tried to get my chair back and they said it would cost $661 to return it to me, it took 2-1/2 months to deliver (it was supposed to take 2 weeks), they missed the Christmas deadline, I was given runaround, and in the end, they never performed the service I hired them to perform. Made initial request on November 24, 2020 to have chair picked up in MA and delivered to CA. Estimate was $795 and they said it would take 2-3 weeks to be delivered. On 11/25/20, Ship Smart gave me a shipping contract for $1,364, which I accepted. This was the final threshold of what I was willing to pay, and the fact that if jumped from their original estimate of $795 to $1,364 to did sit right with me but I went ahead with it anyway because I wanted to get the chair delivered by Christmas. The chair was picked up from our house in MA on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. After they had already picked up the chair, and given me an original estimate of $795, and then the new estimate of $1,364, I got an email from on December 4, 2020, saying that my shipment had arrived in California and was packed and ready to be shipped to the destination in CA. At this point, he told me that the new price (from the original estimate of $795, to the contract price of $1,364) was now $1,718. The final price was $1,000 over where we started, and $400 over the contract price. At this point, I asked for my chair back and wanted out. They informed me that it would cost me an additional $661 to get my chair back. At this point, I felt 100% powerless. They had my chair, and were demanding a price that was $400 over the contract price, and $1,000 over the original estimate. And they were demanding full payment in order for my chair to be delivered to my in-laws as a gift in time for Christmas. Because of their response, and my powerlessness, I made full payment ($1,718) on December 7, 2020 and let them know. They had told me that once payment was made the chair would be shipped, this was December 7, 2020. We never heard back, the receiving party and I were never contacted about delivery. Then, on Monday, December 14, 2020, I sent a follow-up email inquiring about the delivery. It was now getting close to Christmas. (Note: the irony here is that there headquarters is like a mile away from where my in-laws live). I was told the item was "being delivered to the delivery warehouse today" so the "receiving party should get a call by Wednesday to schedule." I let the receiving party know. And again, we never heard back from Ship Smart, and we were all wondering where the shipment was. This was followed by a month of radio silence as we were all wondering, and waiting for the chair to be delivered. I emailed my contact at Ship Smart again on 1/4/21 and got an out of office reply. I then called my customer service contact. We went back and forth several times and I was continuously given the runaround. They were clearly giving me the runaround, and were telling me things that were contradicting what their own warehouse had said, never once taking responsibility for the delay, and giving different stories at different times. They passed the buck, blamed others, and continued to make excuses over a series of emails and phone calls over the next few weeks/months as I tried to get this chair delivered. I had already paid $1,000 over the original estimate, and now they weren’t even delivering the chair! Then, in early February (the chair had still not been delivered!) They said that the receiving party had never answered their phone or returned messages. This is simply not true. They knew the number to expect and they were waiting for it, they knew it was coming. Furthermore, if Ship Smart was having trouble getting through to the receiving party, they should have contacted me—the customer, the one who paid the bill. They had my phone number and my email and they never reached out to me at all, ever. Simply put, Ship Smart never called and never left messages, and tried to blame it on the receiving party. Finally, after all this, I had to jump in, make phone calls, and set up the delivery to finally make sure that the chair got delivered. It was finally delivered on Tuesday, February 9—a full 2 months and 3 weeks after the original contract. This experience has been costly, stressful and time-consuming. The Ship Smart contract and sales pitch is misleading, confusing and dishonest. I never got my agreed-upon service, and was forced to pay $1,000 over the original estimate, and $400 over the contract price. They held my chair hostage and forced me to pay over what I was willing to pay in order to get the chair delivered. But the bottom line is that they never performed the service that I hired them to perform.

Couldn’t be happier with my experience! I was moving to Florida from NY, but Covid really messed up my plans. I worked with a storage place in Florida over the phone and via email while still waiting to leave NY, and ShipSmart delivered my boxes safely to the storage unit while I was still in NY! BTW, kudos to the storage management but that’s a different review!

I would NOT recommend this company if you want your shipment items to be delivered in full. I hired Ship Smart for a small, 1-bedroom apartment move (1700 lbs) from Seattle to Los Angeles area in October 2019. Two dressers / storage carts containing most of my summer clothes (casual, business, evening apparel) were lost during the shipment. Ship Smart does not have and/or did not follow the most basic operating procedures that any professional shipping company should have in-place to accurately track the inventory list. They did not keep full and accurate documentation of items from pickup location throughout the storage, packing, transport, unpacking, and delivery process. The inventory list that I signed on pickup day in Seattle was not available to the delivery crew in Los Angeles, who created a new inventory list when they received the shipment at their warehouse. Due to this gross negligence, Ship Smart did not even notice the missing items during the 4-week period while they had custody of my shipment until I reported the missing items on the delivery day. In their last communication on 6/4/2020, they claimed they were "waiting on another consignee to unpack their shipment to see if the missing dressers may have been accidentally included in that shipment". It has now been more than 13 months since my partial shipment was delivered (11/25/2019). ShipSmart was not able to locate the missing items and has not communicated with me since June 2020. I was a bit worried since I did read some negative reviews, but the positive reviews on Trustpilot helped me take the leap. The team was very helpful and always picked up my calls and responded back by email in a prompt manner. They transported my stuff cross country on short notice for a reasonable cost. The items arrived in perfect, unscathed condition. I would absolutely use these guys again and recommend them.

Just received my china cabinet from NJ. I live in WA state. The cabinet arrived in great condition. It suffered no damage in transit. The folks in NJ did a great job packing it up for shipping. It took 3 weeks for it to arrive. I paid for the white glove service at the destination and it was worth every penny I paid for it. From beginning to end the process was painless and I was kept up to date on all aspects of the move. Ship Smart was a great company to deal with. I would highly recommend them to any one shipping something. Thank you Ship Smart.

I had to ship an antique bedroom set (bed and dresser) from New England to the Gulf Coast which was too small a load for any large moving company. Ship Smart was recommended to me. I called and their helpful customer service representatives walked me through the process. They provided quotes in a timely manner, helped me with insurance and sent emails to confirm everything. Within a week or so, 3 movers from a local agent company for Mayflower, came to my house and carefully packed each piece in my front yard, as requested. The pieces included a large dresser mirror that is very fragile. 10 days later, the furniture safely arrived at its destination 1400 miles away. There was a small snafu in getting the furniture to the recipient's house due issues with a narrow street. At one point the dispatcher in the warehouse to which the furniture was delivered called the recipient and indicated he would have to come pick the furniture up. Calls to Ship Smart's customer service eventually cleared up this misunderstanding because we had paid for door to door delivery. It did take two days to figure this out, but one customer service rep named Kendra personally made sure that the furniture was delivered to the front porch. She also kept me updated on my end over the course of two days. On the day the furniture was finally delivered, Kendra sent me an email confirming it and apologizing for the confusion. This is an example of Ship Smart's great attention to detail and customer service. When the furniture arrived at its destination, the recipient reported to me that "The furniture was so well packed that it took me 4 days to upwrap it!" Thank you, to Mayflower and to Ship Smart , for taking such good care of these family heirlooms.

I was told my items would arrive in 2-4 weeks - it was 6 weeks. My estimate was around $2200 - final cost was over $3300. Boxes were crushed and FILLED with dead bugs. Only good part of the experience were the men who picked up my shipment and the men who delivered it. they were courteous and efficient.

These people are horrible. I have called them 4 times to get a contract sent to have items shipped. They told me they would do it within 3 hours. That was on Saturday when I called two times and was on hold for a total of approximately 2 hours. I never got a contract sent to me. So I gave them one more chance I called on Monday Aug 31 @ 9:30 AM the rep told me she would send it out in a couple of hours it is now 5:57 PM and I haven't received anything from them. I called Mini Moves and they provide me with a contract and estimate within 20 minutes of my completed call. Needless to say I won't be dealing with these people any time soon.

Used ShipSmart to ship a fragile Curio Cabinet from the late 1800's, from Minnesota to Arizona. What a great experience. The care taken to pick up, pack, ship and deliver was impressive. The cabinet arrived in great shape. Can't say enough good things about our experience with this company. I would highly recommend this company with any shipping needs you may have. The price was right around what I would have expected. I opted for in house delivery which was extra, but it was worth the peace of mind. Everyone we dealt with from first contact to final delivery was helpful, knowledgeable and professional. The delivery team too was very good in their care moving the cabinet from the truck to the house. Thanks again for a job well done.

From pickup to delivery everything and every detail was managed professionally. They are expensive but worth every penny. All of the items arrived in good order. I would use this company again.

ShipSmart was very easy to use from drop off to delivery for a 1 bedroom size move from CA to ME! It was delivered within weeks and communication was easy along the way.

We have used Ship Smart on two occasions to ship furniture. They provide a unique service for shipping smaller amounts of goods. Large moving companies have minimum charges that were much too high for the amount of furniture we had to ship. Ship Smart was the perfect answer for our needs. Both their pick and delivery service were handled very well and our furniture arrived in good shape and in a reasonable time frame. We will use them any time we need to ship furniture and boxes in the future.

This company is fantastic! We used them twice to ship vintage family artworks and household items from the USA to the UK. They have been wonderful. They were very careful with our items. They were very well packed. Everything arrived on time and safely with no damage. They were very polite and helpful. Everything went really smoothly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs to ship their items of sentimental or financial value.
